Nestled on the hillside above Lornes famous swing bridge, Carrageen is perfectly located to provide visitors with classic ocean views within easy walking distance of Lornes beaches and restaurants, but also a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle. Whether its sunbaking on the upper deck or reclining in front of the log fire, this beautifully appointed, modern 3 bedroom, 2 living room home offers flexible family accommodation and room to move.

From Carrageen, its just a short walk to the fine sands of Loutit Bay, which caters for sheltered family swimming, surfing and fishing. From there, a walk south along the beach will take you past the famous Lorne pier. A steep climb then leads to Teddy's Lookout, providing magnificent views of the rugged coastline. Alternatively, walk to Erskine Falls through the lush Otways subtropical rain forest. The Lorne Golf club is also within walking distance of Carrageen. For those interested in exploring the Great Ocean Road more broadly, Carrageen offers a perfect base from which to explore this breathtaking coastline at your leisure.

Unless otherwise previously agreed, all stays must only be used for private residential usage and to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking. Unless ‘Pets Welcome’ is advertised, the property is strictly no pets.

Very good overall and we enjoyed our stay. Place had a few negatives which we left in written form at the place. Overall the place is in need of a freshen up. Cracks in plaster, marks on walls etc. The steps including the garden steps are VERY slippery and dangerous. Needs anti slip treatment or just a good high pressure clean for starters.

Very clean and comfortable

Clean and comfortable home. The kitchen was fully equipped. Beautiful views, however, our youngest child struggled walking up the steep hill.

Really comfortable, clean house. Little bit cold downstairs but we were there mid winter. Fantastic cockatoos on the balcony, we had everything we needed. Word of warning the hill up to the house from the beach is steep so anyone with mobility issues would struggle.

Very happy

The rooms were very clean, great little townhouse, modern furnishings and decent amenities. It really can house eight although we stayed with four and had plenty of room to live comfortably and do our own thing. Lorne is good location, however to maximise on the experience come on the hottest weeks of the year!! Don’t make the same mistakes we did in coming on the coldest week in December.

Home away from home

Fabulous home that felt like a home away from home. Very well equipped (complete with kitchen basics salt & pepper etc), lots of natural light, cross ventilation, open spaces, large balcony and views of the water. Loved the outdoor shower for after being at the beach. Easy walk down the hill to the beach and supermarket. Peacefully tucked up the hill back from the main road of a busy Lorne in summer. An abundance of bird life that come to visit daily. This home was great for our small group of friends (and 1 infant) during summer and we're keen to book it again for a winter experience!

My family have spent many happy holidays at Carrageen. a casual walk down to the swing bridge , beach and shops. Very comfortable ,bright, modern accomadation, enjoying the views from the upstairs balcony,while having a wine and a bbq or cosy by the fire. perfect in winter or summer, this will always be our home away from home.. a very peaceful getaway

We had a group of 6 stay at Carrageen (3 couples). The place was perfect for us with great bedrooms, lounge areas, kitchen & bathrooms. The main bathroom downstairs was probably in need of a bit of updating but was still serviceable. What was fantastic was the views of the ocean & the birds that attended each day on the balcony. Would definitely stay again.

The best view in all the holiday houses I've staye

This place feels like a home. Everything you need from cooking to entertainment (55in LCD) are there. Kitchen is well equipped with things like foils, cling wraps etc all there. But the best of all is the 180 deg view of the ocean. It's the best we have seen from a holiday house. The owner Paul, was very helpful and friendly. Always available on phone to answer any questions. I strongly recommend this place. it's right on top of a hill overlooking the whole ocean. Love it.
