Le Chalet on the River

Welcome to the Chalet on the river. This 1700 + square foot retreat with wrap around deck is the perfect year-around get away. Located on the Little Deschutes River, the Chalet features floor to ceiling picturesque windows with views of the back meadow, the Little Deschutes River, and Mt Bachelor.

The Chalet features a peaceful master suite, king sized bed, reading nook, private bath and French doors leading to the patio with views of the meadow. The loft can accommodate up to two people with the option to be two separate areas or one large. The loft contains a queen size bed and a couch. The main level offers an inviting living area, fireplace and dining room.

Chalet Layout
There are 5 steps to enter the main level. The main level includes; kitchen, living room, dining room and a full bath. There are 14 steps up to the loft. The loft level includes; the queen bed, and queen sized futon. There are 14 steps to the basement. The basement level is the master bedroom with a king size bed and full bath. The washer and dryer are also on this level.

Additional Information
There is a street behind the house ~ 500 feet from the house with the river in between. The street does have cars on it regularly, but we do not notice it during our stay. We've had some guests notice it and others have not. . Although it is all perception, it is worth mentioning as previous guests had different views.

Water Crafts/Inflatables ~ There are canoes and SUP’s at the Chalet. However, they are not for guest use. Why? Liability, invasive species permits, correct PFD sizes etc... We do not have any inflatable tubes or rafts due to maintenance of these types of items. There is a Bi-Mart and a Ace Hardware down the street that sells inflatable water toys. Many of the nearby lakes rent both motorized and non-motorized water crafts.

BBQ ~ There is a propane BBQ on the deck and BBQ utensils.


We do not provide beach towels. Please remember to pack yours.

We do not provide condiments. There are spices and oils to cook with.

This is the perfect rental for our family! This trip we spent very little time in the house, but we look forward to coming back and really getting to enjoy the house and amenities. Host was excellent, too! Had no problems at all!

We had a fabulous stay!

The home was exactly as we expected from the listing. We loved being able to put our kayaks in the little Deschutes right from the property. The only downside was he had trouble keeping the house cool enough during the heatwave due to the wildfire smoke in the air. We would love to stay again in the winter.

Nice quiet place

We really enjoyed our stay at the chalet on the river. It was nice and peaceful and just what we were looking for. We especially enjoyed watching the deer who would occasionally graze in the backyard.

Cute, clean, and relaxing

We needed a little weekend getaway to unwind, and we found it. The Chalet was cozy, cute, and clean. It was perfect for our family of five to enjoy for a few days. We made a fire, watched movies, did a puzzle, and explored the area. The beds were comfortable and the space was perfect to play hide and seek in when it got dark.

Peaceful, comfy chalet!

Had a great time for our first time in La Pine. The chalet is super cute and was very comfortable for our family of 2 adults and 3 young teenage boys. Just the right size to be comfy, but not too much to keep up with when you’re on vacation! Jill and Dave were VERY responsive to our questions and gave us lots of good ideas for things to do. Great location to enjoy all the things to do in the surrounding areas if Sunriver isn’t your speed!!
