We spent a whole week at this cozy and comfortable cabin with our two teenagers. No internet, no phone service, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with our teen’s always wired brains! They enjoyed nature, s'mores, splashing in rivers, walking in the woods, amazing!

Hi Sandra, we want to make vacation rental easy for everyone! We followed up with the homeowner and they wanted to share the following:
- We truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay in the private comments section. Thank you for your insight. We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have an excellent stay. Thanks for letting us know about your experience!
The place was quiet and gorgeous. I'll address some previous review comments and say that they added door locks, though we understand why they didn't before- the place is literally up a mountain with virtually no one around. (One cabin next door but I think it was unoccupied). For anyone who needs door locks, they have a electronic door lock now.
Hosts were communicative about directions up there prior to our arrival, which was very useful as google maps becomes a little inaccurate when you're halfway up Pinnacle Mountain.
Place is rustic, cozy, and clean.
Kitchen is stocked (cookware, utensils etc). We kept the kitchen clean and didn't see or hear any critters indoors despite being in the woods. Would suggest a dish dry rack installed over the sink for efficient space use.
Had some trouble with the propane heater, but the hosts were super communicative and came by to make sure it got lit. In the meantime there were space heaters in the closets that were SO warm (especially in the bedrooms at night).
The natural spring water definitely has some sediment in it but it made my hair so soft and shiny, so go figure.
D&D Gas, Grocery and Diner is 15 mins away and there's an ALDI/ other stores about 25-30 minutes away. Coming from a moderately walkable city that's further than what we're used to but D&D was on the way to where we had to go every day so it worked out.
And finally- hurricane Helene came by the area just a few days after we left. Really hope the hosts are ok!
If you want Nature, complete with fire flies, this cabin if for you!
The online posting said that a whirlpool bath was available, and we could not locate one. The add also said that WiFi is available and that has not been established in that very rural area yet. Nonetheless, we were there for NATURE, and wow we found it. Bunnies, fire flies, trees hiding a dozen or more types of birds. It was lovely! The porch grill came in very handy. All in all, we loved it and want to return!
This house, while it is out there, is a simple, beautiful little cabin. It was slightly difficult to find in the dark, but when we did, it was perfect. A little stream nearby, clean, firepit with wood ready to burn, and comfortable beds. We will be back the next time we are in need of a nature retreat!

Not up to reasonable standards
First off, I do not like writing negative reviews but there were so many issues I have to. Overall very dirty. Overall musty smell. Bath smelled of urine. Mouse droppings in silverware, on shelf with cups, mouse bait and droppings with pots and pans in cabinet. No key to property (was told it's safe). To be fair manager offered to install lock. Cabin does not have central heat, had 3 portable heaters. Fireplace had half burned firewood in it. Ceiling fan had about quarter inch of dust on blades. Cabin had no curtains/blinds on Windows which seems uncomfortable to me being there was a house a few hundred feet away that looked right down on cabin. For full disclosure, I was refunded half of my rental cost but only stayed 1 out of 3 nights. Half refund is not sufficient, as it turned our Thanksgiving vacation upside down. I love "rustic", but cannot do dirty. We have rented through VRBO many times and have never left a negative review, until now. Just want to add, the property manager was very nice and apologetic but that doesn't change our trip.
Getting back to basics in this beautiful rustic cabin on a private mountain. Will force you to let everything go and enjoy God's country. Owners live on the mountain and are the friendliest couple. Normally pets aren't welcome but they let our 11 year old crazy boxer come and enjoy mountain lie with us. It was just the break we all needed.
The cabin was beautiful! We enjoyed our mornings on the porch with coffee and we cooked a few meals. Everything we needed was there! We went on day trips to waterfalls nearby and a night out in Asheville. Listen to the itinerary and don’t arrive at night. We couldn’t find the property and had to turn around until morning. Greystone is the name of the property of cabins and it’s right next to a yoga retreat.
Really great experience. Very remote and peaceful . We loved it !!!!!

There's no cell signal here so we enjoyed a weekend with noses stuck in electronic devices only to read books downloaded before we left home. With windows open the entire stay we were treated to birdsong every morning and frog choruses every night. Our only disappointment was the creek which wasn't really big enough to wade in, but the sound was soothing and the small waterfalls were photo-worthy.

Margaret, we're glad that you had a peaceful stay at this property! However, we're sorry if some aspects fell short of your expectations. We strive to show pictures of the outside of the house and creek accurately, but we're sorry if you were taken back by the size. We thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and we hope to have the chance to host you again in the future! Best, the Evolve Team
