About this property
A lovely and relaxing place to stay whilst enjoying your holiday
Pinecroft shares an eclectic style of contemporary and traditional to create a relaxing environment for all to enjoy after a day on the fells or just staying in and reading a good book. Owner enjoys collecting original art with many paintings to enjoy. Accommodation consists of large open plan kitchen / diner with lots of natural light and stunning views, large living room with log effect gas fire, 2 double and one single bedroom, master bedroom has a small ensuite with shower and the main bathroom has a lovely, highest quality steel bath and a large 'walk in' shower. A regular comment from many guests is that Pinecroft feels like a home. Pinecroft is not overlooked and outside you will find a long driveway providing for ample parking. In Nov 2025 a NEW Electric Vehicle charger has been installed. There are mature gardens all around with large patio areas on different levels. There is a purpose built BBQ area and also a bike shelter with secure anchor points. There are a few water features including a lovely fish pond which is less than 3' deep and surrounded by shrubs. Views from the patio and the dining room are wonderful as you look west over Keswick to towards Grisedale Pike where the sun sets. In November 2023 we created a large level patio area that extends from the driveway up to and around the property, this is a major improvement with beautiful new slip resistant paving making the access step free (see photo's) and much easier for those with mobility concerns. plus plenty and a variety of seating areas to enjoy.
Reviews..... Please note that over the last 18 months PC has been in the hands of a local letting agency called Keswick Cottages. They are nolonger being used. Vrbo reviews are prior to this time however guests can be assured that recent reviews have all been highly complimentary.
Transport... Conveniently and just about 100 meters away is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to take you into town or alternatively walking along the old railway line (now a footpath) is about a 20 minute walk. Abit further down and around the corner there is another bus stop for those wanting a day trip to the South Lakes, Ambleside etc.

The cottage was a lovely base for us to stay during our visit to the lakes. It all felt very homely, in a very peaceful location, and was fully equipped for everything we needed. Fab views from the property as well. We would definitely stay again!
A very well stocked comfortable house with everything you need for a holiday. The garden was really lovely too with lots of nice plants and seating areas. There is a great games cupboard we didn’t even get time to use. The house is a short walk to Keswick along the old railway line and close to lots of other great walks. We had a really lovely time there.
A lovely property with plenty of spsce in the house, outdide the house and in terms of parking. Within walking distance of central Keswick, host met us on arrival and was helpful with information, showing us round the house and advising on places to eat. House is beautifully maintained and well stocked with kitchen equipment.
Lovely bungalow which gives a home from home feeling, the owner Roger met us at the property when we arrived and was very informative. Ideal for visiting different places in the area and also lovely walks straight from the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Thanks Ruth always nice to know a guest has enjoyed their stay.
Clean, quiet location in Keswick. Nicely furnished. Easy access to walking in the Lake District and a 20-25 minute walk from town center, which is a great option when the roads are choked with traffic.
Lovely comfortable bungalow in really good location. Loved that we could walk to Keswick along the disused railway track. Easy to get around by car or bus from the house.
We had a great week at Roger's bungelow. Very comfy in beautiful surroundings.
Would have been tricky for a disabled person which we thought we needed but actually didn't.
Would thoroughly recommend the property, thanks Roger.
Pinecroft was perfect for our time in Keswick, for exploring the lakes and fells around Derwent Water and the Buttermere Valley. A quiet location within a 15-20 minute walk of the town centre, Pinecroft was clean, spacious and well equipped, and it has great views across the fells north and west of Keswick.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Excellent standard of accommodation and ideally situated a short walk to the town centre and many scenic walks close to hand.
Highly recommend.
Thank you
Lovely property an well equiped. The only slight quibble would be the size of the ensuite. It was a tight squeeze.

Yes as described in the property details the ensuite with shower is small and though I say so myself, quite cleverly designed to get WC, basin and shower in the space available. Could've left out the shower but opted to include a second shower option.
My two sons and I had a very enjoyable stay at Pinecroft. It is very well appointed and equipped rental property in a nice neighbourhood within easy reach of Keswick town centre with it's many restaurants and pubs. Plenty to see and do in the area. Hopefully, we will return soon.
Excellent location for Lakes. Very comfortable beds and lounge and spacious. However the Garden is not pet friendly or child friendly as it is not enclosed and there are several un fenced ponds, perhaps a warning could be posted on property information.
Good location, suited our needs, be better when it’s finished off.
Cleaners left cobwebs by the sofas, ceilings, bed’s and pillows uncomfortable for us.

Sorry to hear concern with cleaners and will pass on your concerns. With regard to 'finishing' every year improvements are made, the last costing in excess of £20k. The next requiring time without guests, weather conditions etc. The building is far superior to many others costing more. Thankyou for staying but that comment is unappreciated.
We absolutely loved staying at Roger’s home in Keswick! The three of us had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed, and a beautiful garden courtyard to spend time together. It is a nice walk on a footpath to town, and a short distance to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Roger was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for our stay in this gorgeous area. We hope to get back there again!
A very cosy, relaxed and well equipped house. Everything you need for a pleasant basevfrom which to explore Keswick. The host was helpful . The house has lots of character and we particularly enjoyed the original art work.
Lovely property just on the outskirts of Keswick, an easy walk to the pubs and shops along the old railway line. The bungalow is spacious and a teal home from home, very comfortable!

About the host
Hosted by Roger Scoon
Born in Keswick many years ago, returning home in the early nineties after serving in the British Army, I am now retired after 23 years owning a local business offering mid to high end furnishings from curtains to fitted kitchens. Great pride is taken as year on year I improve Pinecroft to ensure my guests are pleased with their choice. Try to keep it relaxed and meet guests on arrival if I can.
Why they chose this property
If relaxation is high on your list of priorities then Pinecroft is for you. Spacious living accomodation on one level plus lots of out door space and parking make Pinecroft a nice place to be whatever the weather. A 20 minute walk along the old railway line / footpath will take you into town or jump on a bus at the nearby bus stops, Penrith - Keswick and Keswick to Ambleside. No need to drive yet far enough away from the hussle of a busy town if you want to chill.
What makes this property unique
Pinecroft is deceptive as it is tucked away in its own gardens. It has been designed deliberately for relaxation with quality fittings throughout. The large walk in shower is lovely and refreshing and the steel bath allows for a long soak if you prefer. The bath even acts as a speaker for your music (ask owner). Original paintings on every wall to be admired. Outside there are different patio areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine. BBQ area is quite unique, In Nov 2025 a new dedicated EV charging facility has been added.
