About this property
A Pretty Cottage in a Small Village Near Oxford and the Cotswolds
Green Cottage is a self-contained cottage at the end of a quiet lane which stops at a field gate. It has been converted from a small barn in the large walled garden of the owners' house, itself a pretty eighteenth-century Cotswold stone building. The cottage is private and cannot be seen from the main house. You can park your car next to the cottage. Green Cottage provides self-catering accommodation all on one floor for up to four people. Children are very welcome. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, and our guests often comment on its restful and home-like atmosphere. We would add, that, while we have always taken great care over cleanliness, we have now in these anxious times upgraded our whole cleaning regime so as to include disinfection as far as is practicable.
As you can see from the floor plan and photographs, a spacious conservatory opens into a large, light living room. Next to this is a fully fitted kitchen with dining area. Then there is a hall, which leads to a bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed (150x200cm), and the second has two single beds (each 90x190cm). The bathroom has a bath with wall-mounted shower. No pets and no smoking. Facilities includes linen, towels and duvets, wireless high-speed broadband internet connection, flat screen digital television and DVD player, radio/CD player, cooker and microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, baby's cot and high chair, central heating, a wood-burning stove (an initial quantity of logs supplied), parking next to cottage, and a secluded garden area with table and chairs.
Self-catering accommodation, sleeps 4, all on one floor in an attractive walled garden.

About the host
Hosted by Julie and Peri Hankey
We have lived in Northmoor for more than 33 years. Nearly 20 years ago we converted what used to be an old barn and stables in our garden to create Green Cottage as a self-contained annex. Originally it was intended for Julie's mother, and this perhaps accounts for a great deal of its special and welcoming character.
Why they chose this property
We moved here because Northmoor is very rural - we can walk for miles straight from the house, without having to drive. At the same time we are close to Oxford and several other small towns. For more ambitious outings, we are within range of London, the sea (Lulworth in Dorset is a favourite spot) and the Welsh borders.
What makes this property unique
Guests will notice the quietness, especially the absence of traffic. Also everything is within walking distance - the pub, our beautiful 14th-century church, and the village hall, where there is a monthly village market with local produce and also a children's playground.
