Cozy two bedroom log cabin on the Chena River near town.
One bedroom has a queen size bed, the other two twins. There is also a carpeted attached garage that gives additional space and has a double bed. You actually enter the house through the garage so, except for the door that makes it handy to bring in luggage, you wouldn't know it's a garage.
It sits on a three and a half acre lot right next to the cabin with the addition that we have used for VRBO for the past two years. The original owner built what is now our home for them and this cabin for his folks in the 1950’s. We have lived here for 50 years and find it a special place.

Thank you Martha for allowing us to stay upstairs with a lovely river outlook.
Great kitchen and easy accessibility to Fairbanks. Only concern was smell of smoke and could have been a little cleaner.
That cabin is a comfy clean authentic Alaskan cabin with heaps of character and charm.
It’s located on the river and close to everything we needed including the Train Depot and Airport.
The owners live next door but you would never know, they are very respectful of your privacy. They met us as we arrived and showed us around the place. It’s a great base for adventuring out, we got to see the Northern Lights and went to visit Santa at Santas House in North Pole. We also spent time just relaxing and looking at the river. There’s a fire pit with heaps of wood down by the river which unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to use but it’s a beautiful spot to sit and chill.
We spent 4 night here in Fairbanks which was the midway point of our 5 week trip from Australia and was just what we needed.
Thanks so much to Martha and Robert for their hospitality.

This is a nice place to stay. It was peaceful and in walking distance to one of our favorite breakfast places. There were plenty of extra blankets and pillows.
After arriving, we were shocked that the property was listed as a vacation rental. The musky and moldy smell inside the cabin was overpowering. The furniture was very old, dusty, and stained in some spots. There were also stains on the ancient carpet. The bedding was also very old and the pillows paper thin. When looking under the hood over the stove we were shocked to find that it appeared as though it had never been cleaned. The converted garage to a bedroom was chilly with questionable wiring above head of the bed. Regrettably, for the reasons stated above, we were unable to stay in the cabin and had to seek other lodging.
Beautiful views from enormous living room windows. Pleasant and responsive host. Beds are comfy and the kitchen is very well stocked with cookware and basic food needs. The heat works well and keeps all but the converted garage bedroom toasty. Only complaints are that the towels and upholstered furnishings are worn and need to be replaced. The carpet could use cleaning too. That might help reduce the musty smell when you first walk in.. That being said, we would definitely want to stay here again. The area is safe and attractive. It’s a good location, fair price and really is a cozy cabin.
My hiking club and I came up for denali park and the northern lights, and this cabin was a great home base. Plenty warm. Cute open inside and cute front/back yard where we could see the sunrise and frolick in the snow. Super close to the airport and town too!

The cabin and property was picture perfect. It was a wonderful vist and the memories will last a life time. We couldnt asked for a better place to stay. Looking forward to a return trip
This is really a great property. It's an older cabin, but is very comfortable and has everything you would normally need. The location is great with stores and a coffee shop within walking distance, not to mention close to the college. The listing really undersell the river view and the close proximity to the river, it’s really quite beautiful. Also, we got an amazing Aurora Borealis show in the backyard because there is very little light pollution at this property. We can’t wait to go back.

Other than the bed sheets being a bit dusty everything else was great. Close to everything we wanted to do and close to the city to have access to nessary shopping. It had a laundry machine and detergent so we could wash the comforters our self. The cabin also had fishing poles, and lawn game activities so you can be entertained. It was cozy and the heater works very well, but it is a bit loud when it turns on. All in all, a very good experience.
Location and setting were great with large windows overlooking the Chena river. Restaurants were a short drive away. Full well stocked kitchen with snacks and breakfast items. Washer and dryer. Although the cabin was comfortable, some items were well worn and could stand to be upgraded and the cabin itself would benefit from a thorough cleaning.
We were a party of 3 adults and were here pre tour/cruise. We needed a place where we could come and go to see the lights and a place where we could have breakfast in and just enjoy being in Fairbanks. The cabin was wonderful. Nothing fancy but everything we needed. The weather was rainy but the view from the front of the cabin was wonderful. Looking out at the peace of the river, especially first thing in the morning.
The cabin is rustic but interior
could benefit from a little TLC . However, the owner was great at answering questions. The view from the living room was great, for you can see the river.view fview is gorgeous with communication.was charming

This is a nice place with a cabin feel and 3 different sleeping areas. It is stocked for cooking, has books and other entertainment plus a beautiful view of the river. I thought it was more secluded when we booked it but it worked well for us. We went to the Arctic Circle and Chena hot springs. Long drive to the circle but Chena hot springs less than an hour away and totally worth it. Martha communicated everything clearly.
Location was perfect to see everything we wanted in Fairbanks. All the beds were cozy. Host was quick to respond. Plenty of space for our family of 4 adults.
My daughter and I enjoyed having this cabin as our home base and communication with Martha was a pleasure. She was a wonderful hostess. The cabin was very clean and so comfortable, and being on the river was wonderful. We watched the river activity quite a bit in the evenings.
We started doing VRBO in this house this spring. Have been doing it next door for two years and love it. We did bed and breakfast here many years ago but found it confining. Now that w e are older and can't do so many things it is perfect.
Bob was drafted out of a GP residency at Sacramento County Hospital in 1962 and sent to Bassett Hospital on Ft. Wainwright. We epaid our own way up because we didn't want to stay longer than 18 months. He soon extended so we could get base housing and continued to extend until they told him he had to get out of the army or transfer to another base.
At that point we rented a little house on 5 acres near our present house and moved everything in our riverboat. They would move is back to Oregon, our home of residency within a year. We never left.
The lady that owned our present house came by to collect money for a neighbor that did the snow plowing. Later they went to California so their daughter could get braces and asked if we'd like to rent their bigger house. We did. We
