Wonderful

The location and space itself were wonderful.Because of being from Canada, it would’ve been helpful to have had more directions in terms of the use of the heat and how to adjust that.Everything else was wonderful
The property was gorgeous, and had a really great outside area. It was also located in a beautiful neighborhood. We had a small issue with the hot water but it was resolved very quickly by the hosts and we had a fantastic experience.
Great location. Lots of restaurants/shops in easy walking distance. Edinburgh is very walkable. Property has lots of room. Previous occupants had left kitchen supplies like dish soap, laundry soap, non perishable food stuffs which was appreciated. Didn’t have to immediately run out for supplies. Nice area, lots of embassy’s from around the world nearby.
The flat was very clean & well stocked. Having a patio to sit on was a bonus. The area seems very safe & it was lovely & quiet. The only negative was there was only 1 very small ice tray, so having enough ice was a challenge.
The flat is located within walking distance of Old Town. We were right around the corner from the US consulate. We were really pleased with everything about this flat.
Very NIce Apartment/ Didn't love working with an agency
The apartment was very nice, spacious, good area, just as advertised. About a 20-30 minute walk to everything. We were a family of 4 with two kids in their twenties, having 2 bathrooms was great!I've never worked with an agency only owner operated VRBO's. It was a bit more difficult as they don't try to please like a homeowner does. The wi-fi was very poor and we did everything we were told to do to improve it. I even called Joivy and they were not any help. We also stayed 10 days and paid a lot of money and they wouldn't provide enough toilet tissue, hand soap or an extra set of towels. (Without charging us more) While this wasn't a horrible issue is was frustrating as we were on tours all day and then couldn't find open markets at night to purchase was we needed. I also asked if we could stash our luggage for just 2 hours prior to check in and we could not. Joivy offered "Stasher" services to pay for and find on our own.

Dear Amie,
Thank you for your detailed comments and for choosing to stay with us. We are glad the apartment met your expectations regarding space, location, and facilities.
Please note that as part of our standard service, essential supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and towels are provided at the beginning of your stay. Additional supplies or replenishments beyond this are not included unless arranged in advance or requested with applicable fees, which is clearly outlined in our property policies. This allows us to maintain consistent standards for all guests.
Regarding Wi-Fi, the setup and troubleshooting instructions given are designed to optimize the connection within the property’s infrastructure. We continually work to ensure reliable service within these limits.
As for luggage storage, our policy does not include complimentary early drop-off; however, third-party services like “Stasher” are available to accommodate such requests.
We appreciate your understanding of these policies and hope to welcome you again.
Best regards,
Joivy Team
Property was as advertised so no complains however, it would helpful if could have dropped off our luggage at the flat prior to the check in time. An added bonus would have been if we had been provided with a welcome pack with some tea bags/coffee/milk etc to get us settled in.
We travel and use VRBO and similar services all the time. This has to be the worst experience we have ever had! It started off bad when the management company--Altido--did not send the entry code to the lock box so we could get the keys and then just went downhill from there. I spoke their call center staff a number of times (by the way, I do not think they are in Edinburgh, but rather some call center in Eastern Europe) regarding numerous issues and mostly they just ignored our requests.
I sent a note the other day requesting a 25% discount because of all of the issues we had, but have yet to get a reply. The property is spacious and in a relatively decent location, but filthy rugs, no 'supplies' that you normally get (paper towels, shampoo, dish soap, etc.), TV that didn't work until the last day and all of the other issues, I WILL NOT recommend.
Further, be warned about Altido--if you look them up online you will see a number of complaints about them across Europe. I will NEVER book another location that they manage.
I tried to paste the note I sent Altido into this review, but it is too long. Suffice it to say that I had 18 items I detailed to them about things that needed to be addressed or fixed.
BOTTOM LINE--DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!
Overall very good. Well equipped- would have been improved by increasing bath room hand towels - only one provided for each bathroom for 5 day stay. Additionally not obvious where spare bath towels were for main bedroom. Good storage in each bedroom. Sink in en suite needs looking at as did not work too well.
We greatly enjoyed our stay. There are many nice things to share about this property. It was clean, spacious, and had outdoor spaces to enjoy. Walking around Edinburgh is a breeze from this location. We would have preferred a bit of a softer bed and pillows, but otherwise we liked the property. The listing stated washer and dryer, but there was no dryer, just a drying rack, which was a bit tough for four people. I'm told the listing will corrected. We would definitely stay here again.
