Ideal location. Plenty of space in the house. Owner was very helpful. It was a perfect holiday for us. Games room and out door table tennis was great fun in the evenings.
We had a great time, lovely tea shop five minutes walk and local grocery for a few bits. close to motorway and easy to get to. comfortable beds, lovely space to spread out. plenty of parking space. fabulous bedrooms and all to a high standard - exceeded expectations.
Perfect house for get together with large bedrooms 5 of which are en-suite and many with single beds which makes for great flexibility depending on the make up of your group. Large group spaces in kitchen and living room with a great conservatory too. Also on direct bus route to Derby and area. Everything a large group could want. Owners live next door and we’re very welcoming and helpful.

Number of bedrooms suited us well. Plenty of loo rolls! No soap/hand wash anywhere.
Large oven door doesn’t close & according to guest book, has been like that since at least April. Property needs a lot of TLC. Great location though & we had a great time.

Great place for a family or group of friends to get together.
Great place for a family or group of friends to get together.
The house is enormous with spacious bedrooms and most with ensuite bathrooms. The bedding and furnishings were all very good quality.
The kitchen was really well equipped for large group - that was the only room that felt a bit cramped with the dining tables in there. It might have been better if they were located in the large conservatory, which was reasonably warm despite the cold weather.
We definitely hope to return.

Large house, great for our family gatherings.
Large house, great for our family gatherings. Perfect space for BBQs and lawn games, with additional games room a bonus.
Larger space in the lounge and conservatory than appear in the photos.
A few minor improvements would go a long way (new bedding, living room carpet, new pool table)
Swanwick is a good base for days out in the peak district and Derbyshire dales. Recommend the local pub (Steampacket) for decent beer!

Good for walkers as plenty of walks nearby, plenty of room for12 people with a bathroom per couple a bonus. Only downside was the cooker where the big oven door wouldn't stay closed unless propped to with a chair and the dials worn away so didn't know correct temp or which part of oven was on ( ie. Fan grill or top and bottom oven. Also needed new rubber seal) was pointed out to owner who said would sort it, but couldn't do it whilst we were there.

The cottage was an ideal size for our group , with lots of parking for us all.
The cottage was an ideal size for our group , with lots of parking for us all. The bedrooms were large and well supported, mostly all being en-suite. The kitchen was large but dining in the kitchen was a little tight (it was winter so we weren't able to use the large outdoor seating areas.) The heating was good and we were comfortable the whole time, a rarety in such large properties.
