beautiful location, every think you could need, so comfortable clean just a relaxing place to be, would highly recommend , and would like to return soon if possible
Lovely place in quiet and beautiful location. The property was very nicely equipped and had all we needed for our stay. I really liked that it was the very last cabin in the holiday park so it felt very private and quiet. I would happily stay there again.
Lovely lodge in an excellent location for exploring the Lake District. The site the lodge itself is located on was lovely, peaceful, well kept and litter free. The lodge was well equipped with towels, bedding, kitchen equipment, tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets to name a few. The parking at the lodge I found fine and we drive a Ford focus. We parked through the gate outside of the lodge and just kept the car in first gear for safety just incase (more for our reassurance) the lodge isn’t as far up a hill as made out on reviews on this site and other sites. We managed it just fine. Wouldn’t be suitable for those with mobility issues just to make note. The furnishings of the lodge are slightly outdated but pleasant. No matter how a lodge/caravan/hotel ect is furnished isn’t not going to be to everyone’s taste. The only negative we found is we found the attention to detail in the cleaning to be average. When we arrived at the lodge we had to hoover a lot of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling which we could tell had been there a while, the shelf above the kettle and toaster was really dusty, the kettle and the toaster needs a good wipe down. All minor but unfortunately let the lodge down. To note the toilet seat in the main bathroom isn’t fixed to the toilet and the blind in the smaller bedroom has mould all behind it, but in all fairness to the owner/maintenance staff they wouldn’t know unless they put them down which I presume they wouldn’t do
Good welcome pack and communication. Lack of gas supply due to current crisis was unlucky situation.

The lodge was in a great spot on the park as it had a great view & wasn't overlooked by other lodges
The lodge was in a great spot on the park as it had a great view & wasn't overlooked by other lodges as it was the highest one. It was very comfortable & the equipment was of a high standard. The only issue was the showers. They kept losing pressure, going cold or turning off completely. This was a real shame as everything else was excellent.

This is the second time My wife, young Son and I have stayed here this year.
This is the second time My wife, young Son and I have stayed here this year. We were back just a few days the first time before we booked again!
Fantastic location, well laid out and well equipped lodge. A great base for us as we love cycling through Grizedale Forest, climbing the Old Man Coniston, spending time down by the Lake, shopping and branching out to other locations. Having immediate access outside the door is amazing...we love it here!
Don’t delay...Book it!!

We had a wonderful week at Ransome Lodge.
We had a wonderful week at Ransome Lodge. Sadly the weather wasn't on our side, but when the sun did shine we would rush outside to sit on the balcony and enjoy the weather and the stunning views of mountains. The Lodge was extremely comfortable, spacious and light - set in the most beautiful location.

Nice lodge very warm and cosy.
Nice lodge very warm and cosy. Nice views. Can walk across to Coniston Water. Unfortunately the boat wasnt able to pick up at our jetty, it would have been nice to have been able to leave the car.
