THE PROPERTY
The landscape surrounding the little hamlet of Gavignano is completely quiet and unspoiled, making a perfect setting for a country holiday, ideal for gentle walks and picnics. The towers of S. Gimignano are just visible across the valley. Podere OLiveta which translates as 'Olive grove Farm' consists of 5 different apartments which enjoy a pretty location up in the hills. Podere Oliveta is located in a certified carbon neutral area that means no air pollution . Each apartment has its own independent entrance and own garden area with barbecue. Much careful thought has gone into decoration, furnishing and ensuring the apartments are equipped down to the last detail. There is a swimming pool surrounded by a sun terrace which has stunning views overlooking the rolling olive clad hills, the sprinkling of cypresses trees and the majestic towers of S. Gimignano in the distance. Local wine and olive oil can be bought nearby.

Podere Oliveta is a good choice for exploring central Tuscany. The main attractions of the region can be reached very easily. The highway which connects Florence to Siena is only 3 km distant. And the villa's location only 3 km from the railway station of Poggibonsi is a good base to visit Florence and Siena even without a car: You can park your car in Poggibonsi (free parking behind the railway station) and take the train in both directions. During the week, trains to Florence/Siena and back go regularly (approx. every 1. hour). The train ride takes about 30 minutes to Siena and 1. hour to Florence. In Florence the train will take you to the main train station which is right in the centre of Florence - it is just a short walk from the station 'Santa Maria Novella' to the Cathedral or the Uffizi. In Siena the railway station is located approx. 1 km from centre, and you may have to take a bus to reach the old town on top of the hill or take the escalator.

THE APARTMENT
FALCO. Just up the lane from the farmhouse, there is a smaller farm cottage. The cosy sitting room has 17th-century beams, a good 'terracotta' floor, a sofa and armchairs, a pretty glass fronted dresser, solid dining table and rush chairs. There is a small but very efficient kitchen screened by a low wall in one corner. The double bedroom is quite elegant. A ladder leads up to a tiny gallery with 2 single beds Falco has the attraction of its own raised, flagged terrace, with a barbecue. This is well planted, with olives, yucca and agape. Falco would suit a young family, or make a peaceful retreat for a couple.

Wonderful accommodation

We stayed in apartment Falco which has great views over the valley.The apartment is exactly as listed,well equipped and spotlessly clean.It is perfectly placed for visiting all the top Tuscan towns and there are numerous local restaurants within easy reach. Fabio and Annemarie are wonderful hosts and we will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Wunderschöne Ferienwoche

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Ferienwoche in der Ferienwohnung. Das Objekt ist sehr sauber und gemütliche eingerichtet. Durch den kleinen Gartenbereich direkt vor der Eingangstür konnte man die Zeit sehr entspannt auch im Freien genießen. Der große Pool der für die Gäste bereit steht lässt keine Wünsche offen. Fabio hat uns sehr herzliche Empfangen und uns sehr schöne Ausflugstipps gegeben. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank

Toskana-Feeling pur

Die Lage des Komplexes ist herrlich. Die Wohnung "Falco" punktet mit einem wunderbaren Außenbereich mit Blick in die Weinberge und Zypressen. Der große Pool ist ein Highlight. Zu einer kühleren Jahreszeit wäre es perfekt gewesen, aber leider war es in der Wohnung bei Außentemperaturen von über 35 Grad oft unangenehm, trotz Klimaanlagen. Gerade die beiden oberen Schlafplätze unterm Dach waren extrem betroffen. Das mag aber sicher nicht immer so sein. Im Frühjahr oder Herbst wäre es prima. Die Ausgangslage für Erkundigungen der Toskana ist optimal.

Un très bel endroit

Remarquable location, cadre, paysage, calme, tout y est ! Un grand merci à Fabio pour l'accueil, pour les petites attentions tout au long du séjour. Cet endroit est idéalement situé pour rayonner dans cette fabuleuse Toscane, entre Florence, Sienne, San Gimignano, Pises etc.... La location était parfaite pour nous 4, heureusement avec un peu de clim.... et une belle piscine, barbecue le soir, espace privatif avec les transats sur notre terrasse et vue imprenable sur les paysages d'oliviers.... Wonderful days in Oliveta

We stayed two weeks at the apartment and everything was wonderful. Our kids loved the pool which was far bigger than expected from the pictures and allowed for a good swim. Fabio and his wife were most friendly and helpful. The location is great, although Poggibonsi isn’t a real Hotspot, it’s a Perfect starting point for trips around the Tuscan landscape and cities.

Good location, nice pool

Family of four (two teenagers) on vacation in Tuscany. The apartment has a good location within a short distance to Siena, Florence and the Chianti classico wine castles. Nice to cool off in the pool after a hot day. Fabio was very helpful and thanks to Fabio we had one of the best experiences of the holyday at the Palio di Siena, fantastic. The teenagers complained that it was a little hot on “bedroom” under the roof. The internet connection was poor. All in all a nice experience.

Ojalá que podamos volver con más días para poder disfrutar más de la casa Falco y sus alrededores. La piscina estupenda. Como punto a mejorar, la Red WiFi debería ser mejor (era pobre, navegación muy lenta) Todo lo demás ha estado más que correcto.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce gite situé dans un endroit enchanteur. Le propriétaire est vraiment très sympathique et de très bon conseil. Nous avons pu facilement visiter les incontournables de la région: Florence, Sienne, San Gimignano, le Chianti...La location est très propre et fonctionnelle. Les enfants ont adoré la piscine. Im Juni 2011 verbrachten mein Mann und ich eine Woche in der Ferienwohnung "Falco". Sie ist ein kleines Farmhaeuschen, sehr sauber und mit schoenem Moebel und Geschirr ausgestattet. Die Kueche und das Bad sind zwar recht klein aber fuer zwei Leute voellig ausreichend. Die Lage der Anlage ist sehr zentral und im Umkreis von 40 Kilometern sind alle bedeuteten Staedte, inklusiv Florenz und Siena einfach mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Wir haben jeden Tag einen anderen Ort besucht und uns alles Sehenswuerdigkeiten angesehen. Der naechste Supermarkt (CoOp) ist 2 Kilometer entfernt in Poggibonsi und hat eine riesige Auswahl. Auf Podere Oliveta haben wir die meiste Zeit auf unserer Terrasse verbracht und die himmliche Aussicht genossen. Falco hat die beste Terrasse und Aussicht in der Anlage. Der Blick vom grossen Pool ist fantastisch und wir haben einige Stunden dort verweilt. Es gibt einen tollen Markt in Poggibonsi (jeden Dienstag morgen), wo man sich von Kopf bis Fuss neu einkleiden kann und auch gleichzeitig frisches Obst und Gemuese und alle anderen Leckereien kaufen kann. Fabio ist sehr informiert ueber die naehere Umgebung und kann viele Ratschlaege fuer einen wunderschoenen Urlaub in der Toskana geben. Wir koennen Podere Oliveta und Falco waermstens empfehlen und sollten wir wieder in die Toskana kommen (was wohl noch etwas warten muss, da wir in Australien leben) werden wir selbstverstaendlich das gleiche Ferienhaus buchen.

Toscana Urlaub

Wir waren in der ersten Juni Woche in diesem wirklich schönen Ferienhaus. Wir hatten eigentlich Gufo gebucht, bekamen aber Falco was noch etwas größer ist und uns auch deutlich besser gefiel. Bei Falco haben wir besonders die Terrasse mit Blick über die Toscana genossen. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und bemüht. Der Pool war sauber und gepflegt. In der Wohnung war alles vorhanden und man konnte sich gut selbst verpflegen, wenn man wollte. Einkaufmöglichkeiten gibt es in der Nähe genug, aber ohne Auto ist der Aufenthalt nicht so empfehlenswert. Die Betten sind vielleicht etwas durchgelegen und die Wasserspülung etwas laut, aber sonst können wir die Unterkunft wirklich ohne Einschränkung empfehlen, wenn man etwas Ruhe sucht. Die Lage zu Siena, Florenz oder San Giminian etc ist wirklich optimal und man kann nach Lust und Laune schöne Ausflüge machen. Es war ein wirklich schöner Urlaub!!!
