Welcome to The Perfect Shell, a beautifully maintained 2-bedroom island home featuring a private heated saltwater pool, complimentary golf cart, whole-house reverse osmosis system and an incredible location near one of North Captiva's widest sugar-sand beaches.

STAY REQUIREMENTS

During Prime Season, Spring Break and Holidays, The Perfect Shell typically rents weekend-to-weekend with a 7-night minimum stay.

During non-prime periods, shorter stays and alternate check-in/check-out days may be available. Please send an INQUIRY before submitting a booking request if you need different dates or a shorter stay.

Check-In: 4:00 PM or later
Check-Out: By 10:00 AM

Early check-in or late check-out may not be available with same-day turnovers. Please coordinate ferry and travel plans accordingly.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

THE BEACH HOME

The Perfect Shell is located in the Dunes neighborhood on the high-and-dry southern end of North Captiva, just one street from the State Preserve and a very short walk or golf-cart ride to spectacular Butterfly Beach.

This comfortable one-level, tiled home features an open floor plan, high-quality furnishings, comfortable beds and everything needed for a relaxing island vacation.

The large screened front porch is a wonderful place for dining, relaxing and enjoying the tropical scenery.

PRIVATE POOL HOME – NO CLUB MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

The Perfect Shell is a private pool home with no club membership required or included. You have your own private heated saltwater pool right at the house to enjoy throughout your stay.

Guests may also enjoy the right-hand pool and spa at the Island Club at North Captiva, which are open to the public at no charge. No Island Club membership is required to use this public pool and spa area.

COMPLIMENTARY GOLF CART

There are no cars on North Captiva Island. Transportation is by golf cart, bicycle or foot.

Your stay at The Perfect Shell includes a privately owned and maintained golf cart complimentary with your rental.

Use it to visit the beach, restaurants, shops or simply explore North Captiva.

BEACHES & ISLAND LIFE

The Perfect Shell is only steps from beautiful Butterfly Beach, one of North Captiva's widest sugar-sand beaches.

Enjoy world-class shelling and fishing, swimming, boating, nature walks and incredible wildlife. Dolphins, manatees, gopher tortoises and native birds are all part of the North Captiva experience.

The nearby State Preserve offers beautiful natural areas and trails leading toward the Gulf.

ABOUT NORTH CAPTIVA ISLAND

North Captiva is an unspoiled barrier island located off Southwest Florida in the Gulf of Mexico and is accessible only by boat or private plane.

Approximately two-thirds of the island is State Preserve, offering beautiful beaches, wildlife, tropical vegetation and nature trails.

The island offers restaurants and bars along with Mangos convenience store, Boats and Fun and additional island services.

Activities and services may include boat rentals, fishing charters, golf-cart and fat-tire bike rentals, kayaks, private chefs, prepared meals, massage services, photography and excursions to Cayo Costa, Boca Grande and Cabbage Key.

There is no traditional full-size grocery store on North Captiva, so grocery planning before arrival is important.

GETTING TO NORTH CAPTIVA

Most guests flying into Southwest Florida arrive at RSW – Southwest Florida International Airport and travel to Safe Harbor Pineland Marina on Pine Island.

Guests may reach North Captiva by scheduled ferry, private water taxi/charter or their own boat.

Island Girl Charters is approximately a 30-minute ferry ride to North Captiva. Round-trip adult ferry fare is approximately $59 plus tax. Paid overnight marina parking is approximately $12 per night.

Ferry transportation and marina parking are paid separately and are not included in your rental rate.

For a 4:00 PM check-in, guests commonly reserve the approximately 3:00 PM Island Girl Charters ferry to the Mainstay/Barnacles dock.

Please reserve early, as ferries can fill. Schedules, availability and pricing can change, so confirm current information before finalizing travel plans.

Bringing your own boat? Please inquire about assistance arranging boat dockage.

GROCERIES & ON-ISLAND CONCIERGE

Upon arrival, our on-island concierge will assist with transporting you, your luggage and groceries to The Perfect Shell.

Grocery options include:

• Bring groceries on the ferry
• Arrange a personal shopper
• Have groceries stocked before arrival
• Arrange grocery delivery during your stay

Complete information will be provided in your Perfect Shell Welcome Package after booking. Personal shopping, grocery stocking and similar services may involve additional guest charges.

Our concierge can also assist with your departure.

Additional island services may include private chefs, massage services, boat rentals, fishing charters and island excursions. Please ask if you would like help arranging something special.

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION

North Captiva is a remote barrier island, and weather, transportation interruptions and flight delays can affect travel plans. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Ferry transportation, private charters, marina parking, personal shopping and other third-party services are not included unless specifically stated otherwise.

Your golf cart IS included complimentary.

All guests are required to complete and return the Host Vacation Rental Agreement.

SECURITY CAMERAS

In accordance with disclosure requirements, exterior security cameras are located outside the property for security purposes.

One exterior camera faces the driveway underneath the house, and one exterior camera faces the water equipment.

The Perfect Shell is professionally managed by Swept Away Realty, Inc., a licensed local property manager with on-island concierge assistance.

This was our second time staying at Perfect Shell. It was just as amazing this time as it was our first time. Had everything we needed, the weather was perfect, the gulf was calm and crystal-clear water. We plan to rent this home again when we return to the island. The host and staff are wonderful!!

We really enjoyed staying in the Perfect Shell for two weeks. Everything was comfortable in the house. The pool was super nice. Loved walking along the beach shelling. All questions were answered and there were no problems. If in North Captiva again we will definitely stay here!

The Perfect Shell was exceptional. It felt like home away from home! We enjoyed the pool, screened in porch, comfy couch, and comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals and the coffee bar was an added perk. We were close enough to the beach to walk easily, but we also enjoyed using the golf cart to explore the island. We will definitely be returning!

We loved this stay! Great home just down from the beach so it perfect to get your steps in or just jump in the golf cart. Home was clean, well stocked with everything you need to cook, spices, extra blankets/pillows, toiletries, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. Pool was a great feature as we used it every day. Shelling was good and beaches were not crowded at all! Information provided by the host was great especially since it was our first time on the island. It covered everything. Concierge service was great and very helpful with introducing us to the island, transporting our luggage and grocery delivery. (Little pricy but worth it) Restaurants/bars were great options on days we didn’t want to cook. We highly recommend this place for a quiet, lazy, romantic and remote get away!

Amy and Ken have clearly put a lot of effort and time into this property. The house was very well stocked, there was nothing additional we needed. If you’re going to stay on this island you need to take advantage of Lori and Tortuga concierge services. It makes your life that much easier. The new pool was absolutely glorious so we split her a time from the beach and the pool and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect vacation. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you next year.
If you see a deep hole on the beach, don’t get too close. You might see a ghost, sand crab, pretty creative.

This house is appropriately named as it is perfect. From location, communication, cleanliness, amenities provided, house layout, decor, pool there’s not one thing I would change. We were extremely happy with our stay at the Perfect Shell. Check-in was very simple and clear. You are provided a personal concierge upon arrival to the island and upon departure. They handled loading and unloading our luggage completely. The house felt rather spacious and had any amenity you could desire - plenty of beach and bath towels, toiletries in case you'd forgotten any, games, pool and beach toys, and much more. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as the size of the pool, but it was larger in person than it appears in the pictures on the listing. We spent many hours floating on pool noodles soaking up the sun. The yard and house are also quite private. We were technically visiting during the off season, so that may have had an affect on our experience, but the beaches were mostly uninhabited. We thoroughly enjoyed our private strolls on the beach and wading in the ocean. The house is located very near what is, in my opinion, the nicest stretch of beach.I would recommend visiting the Perfect Shell if you get the opportunity. A great experience for a great price!

Beautiful luxury beach house!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Perfect Shell! This home had everything we needed and more with very comfortable beds and cozy, high end furniture and decor along with easy access to the beach and a beautiful pool area. We highly recommend The Perfect Shell, it was by far the best property we’ve ever rented on North Captiva!

Beautiful, clean home!

Beautiful, welcoming and very clean home that was a lovely stay for our honeymoon! The owners have stocked it with every game, movie, appliance, tool, utensil, or supply you could need! Would definitely stay here again!

Anniversary getaway

My husband and I spent our anniversary week on North Captiva. The Perfect Shell was literally perfect. It had everything imaginable like one would have at home plus everything needed for a perfect beach trip.
