Located near North Hobart's popular restaurant strip, Kallara House is the perfect base for your Tasmanian holiday. The city centre is only a short drive away, and steps away, you will find the best locally produced Tasmanian food at Hill Street Grocers. Enjoy your morning coffee at my personal favourite cafe Daci & Daci, just a few minutes walk from the house.Accommodating up to 7 guests, Kallara House offers off street parking for one car, NBN Wifi, Netflix and easy access to the CBD, the restaurant strip and Hobart's attractions.

You will be impressed from the moment you step inside. The home incorporates the original with modern updates. Built in 1914, the home retains its beautiful period features which include high ceilings, timber fretwork, picture rails and original fireplaces (now ornamental only).

The entry level features 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 stylish bathrooms, both with gorgeous views of Mt Wellington.

One bedroom offers a King size bed and a TV, another offers a Queen size bed. The third bedroom has a Queen size bed plus a single bed.
All beds have quality mattresses to ensure a good night's rest. Electric blankets are provided to keep you snug on those chilly nights.

There are two bathrooms and one of them is an ensuite to the main bedroom. There are two toilets upstairs with a third toilet downstairs. The main bathroom has large windows which capture ever changing views of Mt Wellington.

Downstairs, enjoy cooking local Tasmanian produce in the fully equipped kitchen. It features stone bench tops, chef knives, an array of stainless steel appliances, including gas cooker, dual dishwasher, full size fridge, microwave, rice cooker and coffee machine.

Off the kitchen is the formal lounge and dining. Enjoy Netflix on the Smart TV. There is also a Nintendo Wii, and a selection of board games, music and books.

The home has a laundry with washing machine and dryer for your use - perfect for longer stays. All our linen is professionally laundered.

Kallara House is well equipped with heating and cooling options.
Upstairs, there is a fan heater plus heaters are provided in all rooms.
Downstairs has a reverse cycle air con in the dining room and a cosy gas fireplace in the lounge.

A large glass open living area flows from the lounge room and features French doors which open out to the private patio and the beautiful established garden.
With its large outdoor umbrella for those sunny afternoons, it is a perfect place to sit and unwind with a coffee or a glass of wine.

Comfortable house in a great location

Our family enjoyed our stay as the house was comfortable, big enough for our family of four, and in a good location within easy walking distance to cafes, supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

Property is well located near city centre but just too far for walking distance. A couple or worn parts of the property but overall well looked after and bathrooms had been renovated. Stairs are a bit steep and narrow for those elderly or young children. Very well equipped with those "just in case" items. Parking space us abot tricky and i would recommend reversing into it!

Easy access to Hobart and surrounds

We got in on a cold winter week in Hobart I think and the heating just kept the cold at bay. The ensuite bathroom could use a door so that the heat from the master bedroom doesn’t dissipate in there. The large comfortable blankets provided were warm and essential. Wie games were a hit with the kids and whose bedrooms were much warmer than the master and the lounge room. Easy spot to launch from and the grocery store down the road was full of great food. The people of Hobart were very welcoming everywhere we visited.

Hobart on Argyle

Our stay at Hobart on Argyle was most enjoyable. The central location, well equipped house and most attentive host, Natalie made for a wonderful short break in Tassie. Natalie emailed through a list of places to visit and eat at prior to our arrival which was most appreciated. She regularly checked in with us to make sure everything was OK and was very flexible with our arrival and departure times. The upstairs bedrooms were as warm as toast and down stairs had an inviting open and gas fireplace. My only recommendation would be another heater down stairs as it is a large area to heat. We made good use of the blankets that were supplied! We would recommend Hobart on Argyle. Four and a half stars!

Lovely cosy house

Very welcoming, Natalie was easy to deal with. Property had everything that you needed. IGA just around the corner. Was great to bring our furbaby on holiday with us although she wasn’t keen on the stairs or floor board but we easily got around that. House was warm and in a quiet location. Beds were comfy. We will definitely stay again when in Hobart.

Great Stay!

We had a lovely stay, the house was perfect for 6 adults! It was clean and very comfortable. It is in a great spot with easy access to all the things in Hobart we wanted to see and do! Highly recommend and would definately stay here again!

Great location

Lovely old house to stay for a short stay, and also dog friendly. Well appointed, comfortable and plenty of bedding and kitchen appliances. TV and wifi worked well. Great location for accessing town whether by foot, cab or own vehicle. Will happily stay again if heading down to Hobart. Thank you!

Super comfortable, charming house

We loved our stay. The house was better than expected; loved the outdoor back patio. Natalie was a great host. Highly recommend!! While it was a bit of a walk to the water, we did it everyday and sometimes twice a day, Uber back; easy peasy.

Home Away in Hobart

Had an extended stay for 1 month in New Town to visit family and new born granddaughter. The location was perfect, close to everything, convenient to downtown Hobart CBD and North Hobart shops and restaurants. This house formed the home base for all activities with my extended family meeting place for dinners and night gatherings. The service was great and Natalie ensured we had proper linen/towel service. Will come back

Thank you Natalie for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful house in Hobart. We loved the character of the home and all of the charming furnishings, it really did feel like home. The children loved the Wii console and my little niece especially said she felt like a proper French lady sitting in the elegant sun room to eat breakfast! The house was very clean and comfortable, we all slept like babies, the beds and pillows were divine. Your helpful advice on nearby shops/restaurants etc was much appreciated, we tried many of your recommendations and loved them all. Well equipped house in good location.

We enjoyed our stay in this charming period house. It is very well equipped with everything we needed. We appreciated the lovely courtyard and comfortable beds. Excellent property.

The house was very clean and the owner left little treats to welcome us, including a vase of fresh flowers. The location was great and we walked into the city centre often. The only disappointing part, which was minor because we coped, was the water pressure in the showers- quite tricky to adjust the hot and cold.

Great location, comfortable and clean

We recently had a family stay (3) for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great location, with a bus station just over the road for a quick trip to the inner city. On one occasion we walked home and it took about 40 minutes, but we window shopped along the way. We also found it easy to connect with the main roads to drive to other attractions around Hobart. The house has everything you would want including fast WI-FI to help plan your next day adventures. It is very clean and comfortable and has a lovely sitting area to collect the afternoon sun and enjoy a read of the paper. We appreciated the clean Weber Q BBQ and bought some steaks for another Tassie taste experience. Make sure you visit the local IGA - only 10 minutes walk. The best IGA we've ever seen with a superb selection of Tassie products and other fresh foods for breaky, lunch etc. The owner is very house proud and communicates with the renter in an excellent manner, including some helpful information about the local suburbs, restaurants etc. This property was our BEST STAYZ stay in Tasmania. Don't hesitate to book it.

A Beautiful home with everything taken care of

We stayed at Hobart On Argle when we visited Hobart with my whole family including my in-laws from China and it’s their first time in Hobart. We all fell in love with the house and most impressed with Natalie’s kindness and helpfulness. The house is super clean and has a nice homy feeling with everything provided even with welcome chocolate, wine and fresh baked bread! During our stay, we run out of the coffee capsules and my husband bought the wrong type, when he mentioned to Natalie on the phone, she dropped off the coffee straight away. The level of customer service is outstanding! The house also has everything that is required to make a home, high quality furniture, smartTV, Netflix, great BBQ, nice spacious kitchen and a beautiful courtyard for outdoor entertainment. It is within a few minutes by car to the CBD and a few minutes on foot to the north Hobart restaurant strip and also a bus stop at the door. it was absolutely delightful to stay there and we’ll definitely come back!
