About the host
Hosted by Mark Neal

We have lived in Northland most of our lives, and our children have grown up, left home and are working in Auckland. I am a Secondary School teacher and my husband Mark runs our website design and commercial printing business. We spend as much time as we can, depending on weather, on or in the water. Camping, boating, fishing and paddle-boarding are passions of ours. We are also hockey mad! Our son and daughter both represented NZ in hockey at the Rio Olympics, and our daughter was in the NZ Blacksticks team that won the Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games , Gold Coast.
We have stayed at Air BNB's both overseas and in New Zealand while travelling for hockey, and since discovering this form of accommodation, would never go back to motels or hotels. We love the different places, the homely atmospheres and different people we have met, and look forward to extending the same hospitality with our own Airbnb.
