Designed by award-winning architect Harley Graham (HGA), The Eco Lodge is the latest addition to Byron Beach Retreats.

You will awaken each morning to the sounds of the ocean and birdlife and bathe in the dappled sunlight filtering through the treetops. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as you take in the landscaped gardens and rainforest from the comfort of your expansive north-facing deck. Then, at dusk after a full day of beach activity and exploring, take a dip in the infinity-edge magnesium plunge pool or settle in with a glass of wine and be entertained by the abundant wildlife of Broken Head Nature Reserve. Pure bliss!

The Eco Lodge is designed with a minimal environmental footprint. Its extended flat, sloping rooflines are used to harvest and collect rainwater. At the same time, electricity is supplied by a 15kwt solar system on the roof. Smart glass windows control heat and light and retract and disappear to create a smooth transition from indoors to the vast wrap-around undercover deck. Natural light spills from skylights and light wells throughout the property and louvres are used extensively to enhance natural airflow.

This private sanctuary comprises of four north-facing bedrooms sleeping a total of eight guests. Each room provides luxurious, 5-star resort-style beds, three bedrooms have king beds, the fourth bedroom has 2 long singles. There is a total of three bathrooms, two of which are master ensuites. One features a deep free-standing bath inviting you to lay back and soak up the serenity as you unwind.

The contemporary open plan living, kitchen and dining areas flow seamlessly to create an unrivalled experience of light and space, which is further amplified by the soaring roofline. Thermal mass concrete floors provide natural insulation that is cooling in summer yet absorbs heat from the low lying sun to warm the entire house efficiently in winter.

A fully equipped chefs kitchen with its warm timber trims and top of the range appliances invites you to stay in and cook up a storm. A large island bench provides plenty of space for your family or guests to join in. Or if you prefer to cook outdoors, there is also a Weber BBQ.

Pack a picnic lunch and take a leisurely 7-minute stroll through the rainforest to a secluded ti-tree lake. Enjoy lunch, and a dip in the healing waters then continue on to Broken Head beach for hours of fun in the sun and surf. The Eco Lodge is pet-friendly, small well-behaved dogs are considered. The large outdoor entertaining deck that flows from the main living and entertainment space is gate-secured however, please note the property yard is not fenced. The nearest dog beach is a couple of minutes drive away at Suffolk Park. Broken Head is a National Park, no dogs are allowed in the National Park or on Broken Head beach. Pets must be authorised by management prior to check in, T&C`s apply.

• Take a dip in the all natural rejuvenating tea-tree lake, please respect the cultural significance of the Ti-Tree Lake to the local Bundjalung women.

** Please respect that Broken Head beach is a dog free beach - the dog-friendly section of the beach is accessible from Suffolk Park

A short walk from the beach and surrounded by rainforest on 3 sides the Eco Lodge is the high point of beautiful architectural design with all luxe appointments. Designed for sustainable, low impact luxury living and complimentary to the the pristine natural surroundings this is a unique and special place.

Just a 10 mins walk to the beach and headland for swimming, surfing and fishing or 10 mins drive into downtown Byron Bay for all the shopping and dining you could wish for. Or 5 mins to Suffolk Park, for groceries, Post Office, hotel and restaurants. The Eco Lodge has private off street parking for 4 cars.

Booking Information
• Group Restrictions - maximum of 8 adults at the property unless otherwise approved directly with Byron Beach Retreats.
• Strict noise policy and no parties permitted - fees and eviction can apply for security call-outs. See terms and conditions for further information.
• No commercial activities or events permitted including but not limited to hens/bucks events, engagements or weddings.
• Intimate events, photo/video shoots may be arranged directly with Byron Beach Retreats. Additional fees and T&C’s apply.
• No Schoolies or school-leavers permitted.
• No smoking inside the property.
* Pets are considered but must be authorised by Management prior to check in. It is the pet owners responsibility to remove all pet waste from the property prior to departure. If extra cleaning, waste removal, or maintenance is required as a result of the pet, additional fees will be deducted from the bond and is not negotiable. Broken Head is a National Park, no dogs are allowed anywhere in the National Park or on Broken Head beach.
• We reserve the right to cancel any bookings made that do not comply with these conditions. Breaches of these conditions during your stay may result in immediate termination without refund of rent or bond.
** Pets: The property yard is not fenced. Small dogs considered by management and must be authorised before booking.
Pets to be confined to the immediate property boundary & not permitted to roam freely. As a responsible pet own please note and respect that Broken Head beach is not pet-friendly, the nearest dog-friendly leash-free beach is a couple of minutes drive away at Suffolk Park.

** Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. Breach of this condition may result in immediate termination and eviction without refund and extra charges for security, cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc.

** Noise Restrictions - Guests must consider our neighbours and abide by local council noise restrictions that are in place from 9pm.

** Disturbance to our neighbors, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination and eviction without refund and extra charges may be made for security and other expenses.

** Only the guests nominated and agreed in the Booking may stay in the Property over night. If any other guests stay extra charges will apply and/or the agreement may be terminated without refund.

** If security is required to attend the Property due to noise complaints the security call out fee will be deducted from the security bond, second noise complaint can mean loss of full bond and being asked to vacate the Property immediately.
