Unique rental, would rent again, great trip!

My family and friends have so many great things to say about our time here visiting Tallulah Falls. This home is such a unique find to be on private land to explore, private river access to fish, swim, float, explore, sit and take in the experience. The set up of the house worked well for my family of 4, our friends family of 4, and my parents with room to spare. The hosts make sure to stock it well with all the kitchen tools we needed to cook, they really think of everything! Including essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bubble bath, laundry detergents, etc.. There is seating in surplus indoors and outdoors. I was so impressed with how intentional they were with porch seats, tables, even two swings for the river views, fire pit with lots of chairs, and hammock. It was well thought out to encourage good conversations, reflection, and memories. Mission accomplished. We really didn’t need to leave if we didn’t want to. Our kids, ages ranging 8-11, enjoyed playing with the provided floats in the river. We did go explore the local State park, Hemlock Falls trail to a waterfall, and Wildcat Creek to experience the sliding rock, so fun if you have kids that can swim. The girls of the house did a horse riding day with Dillard horse riding, we love horses and had an amazing river ride. The river can’t be seen from the home, it gave us some good exercise to go up and down the hill to and from. If you struggle with balance it might be an issue. My active parents in their late 60’s had some challenge getting to and from the river, but took their time and did great. This area has so many great places to see, we could have done even more and might need to come back. Only con of the trip, AC in upper floor went out the last 2 days of the trip, only recommendation to the owner, might need a back up plan with some portable ACs in future. We didn’t let it ruin the trip but it was definitely uncomfortable with interior temp of 80’s. The house has really nice windows that crank open with screens. Contacts respond promptly, but no one could come out during our trip from the AC company.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

Super spacious property with easy access to both the highway and the river. Our group was looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, and we had a blast fishing, exploring, and playing board games. Plenty of beds for everyone to get their own place to sleep. Close to a Walmart for easy groceries too!

PERFECT retreat for our large group getaway

The Lakemont property was beautiful. Gorgeous cabin, very accommodating for large groups, and beautiful spaces to spread out. The primary bath with amazing shower and copper tub were spa-like. The kitchen was more than accommodating for all of our cooking needs, and the property manager was a delight to work with. Our entire group loved the property and their accommodations and would love to return at a future date.

Best VRBO experience EVER!!

Cleanliness BEYOND expectations. Pictures do not accurately show how wonderful this “cabin” is. Pride in ownership is in EVERY detail: comfort of beds & furniture, superbly appointed kitchen, perfectly placed hot tub, gorgeous woodwork throughout and basic necessities provided. We will return in three months with grandchildren.

Nature weekend

The home and property are lovely! Having access to the river and fire pit was so convenient! The hot tub is kept very clean too. In general, the home would benefit from a deep cleaning (think under couches and cushions, backsplash in kitchen, a hot mop throughout, dump out crumbs from toaster, etc). The lower deck fire pit and dishwasher were not operating during our stay, which did impact our experience.

Super Nice

Enjoyed our stay. Super nice. Plenty of room to spread out. Lots of attention to details. Only issues- slow drainage of bathtubs and kitchen sink, but was quickly addressed by staff. Drive way is a bit hard to maneuver especially with wet leaves, hard to get traction without AWD.All in all, convenient to local attractions. Would recommend!

Beautiful Home for Large Group

The home was beautiful and beyond adequate for our large group! It is clear that great thought and intention went into ensuring we had everything we needed! The property manager was a delight to work with and everyone raved about their stay! The primary bathroom with the copper tub and shower made it feel like we were at a spa! The property provided great space for everyone to spread out and enjoy nature and the quiet.

Beautiful riverfront cabin

Our son attends Piedmont University and we came up for a long weekend to attend his swim meet and celebrate my husbands birthday. Location was amazing, only a few minutes from the swim meet and beautiful riverfront views. We enjoyed spending time outdoors and walking along the river. Property was well appointed and we appreciated the comfy beds and nice linens. Thanks for a wonderful weekend! We will be back.

Absolutely wonderful!

Every single one of us enjoyed our stay at the Tallulah property. The house fit everyone comfortably. It had a really well stocked kitchen, everything you would need. The outdoor space, the river, the land was absolutely my favoroite. I could have stayed forever. The one thing we thought would have been nice to have is a pool table downstairs. My family and I enjoyed the property, the house and the area very much. We all agreed we would definitely return. Thank you for a really lovely place to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family.

Great cabin kinda dirty

Loved the cabin. But for what it cost it should have been much cleaner. There were small German roaches all thru the cabin especially the kitchen ! Which made cooking and entertaining guests almost not realistic. The trash cans in all bathrooms were full upon check in. The sheets on all beds looked like they were from the last guest still. There were bloodstains on the beds we found when we removed sheets to wash for ourselves before we slept in them. Bandaids in showers. The couches smelt of dog urine. The hot tub was absolutely disgusting we did not even think about using it. Which was a shame as that was a main reason we chose this cabin. One of the shade umbrellas was broken ! And the floors were gross. But after we swept and mopped the floors. Washed the bedding and took out the trash. It was great ! Loved the area And all the extra space by the river. Will prob rent again just hopefully the owner will get new cleaners by then.

Response from VrboOwner on 28 June 2024
Hi Adam, thanks for taking the time to review your stay. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:- We apologize for any inconvenience caused by cleanliness issues. Our maintenance team did not notice any cleanliness concerns before your check-in.- We have been treating the property for bugs and hadn't observed any in over three weeks. We offered to address this during your stay but did not receive a response.- Our maintenance team found the hot tub in good condition both before and after your stay, but we are still planning a deep clean and additional insect treatment.Once again, we appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the guest experience.

Thankful

This cabin was beautifully and comfortably decorated. Linens were nice. Mattresses were comfortable. The master suite with a walk-in shower was perfect for our most senior couple. A half bath for all who sleep on the loft would be very nice; a lot of people share the main hall bath. We wish someone had written that fires are better in the outdoor fire pits than in the indoor fireplaces. With windows open, smoke from the main floor fireplace rises to the loft and sinks to the basement which isn’t good for sleeping. Our evenings around the river fire pit were fun. The property has lots of room for walking and is near some great walking and hiking trails. Our serious hikers and marathoners loved the location. For three who love to cook, it was the best-equipped kitchen of any place we've ever rented; we loved having a table big enough for all of us to sit together. t was a great place for our family of twelve to gather for the first time in almost 4 years We’re grateful for the week we spent in this lovely cabin.

Fall break

Everything was great. Needed more towels for the number of guests. They were laid out on the beds but not the additional sleeping areas such as the futon and sleeper chair/trundle bed. We just has to wash them daily so everyone could get a shower. Plus no additional towels for the hot tub use. Sheets had your normal hair, so either they were not washed or just not washed well. Strange smell like a dead animal in the lowest level. Just left doors open for awhile to help it dissipate. Overall great property, maybe just need the cleaning crew to do a little better job. But all in all we would definitely stay here again.
