Enjoyed our week here. The road up to the property needs some repair. Excellent view and total privacy. Wonderful porch to allow pets to be off leash sometimes. Great guest contact, Tonya. A few problems, as with any home, but no complaints.

Need a 4-wheel drive
You need a 4-wheel drive to get to cabin!! Don’t depend on the 2nd bed unless you can climb steps that are straight up and down… Know how to light pilots for propane heaters. Also, pray that you are the only person using the road to go up there.. if you meet another vehicle one of you need to back up!!

Truly a cabin in the woods
The property is sorely in need of some updates, though it was entirely serviceable. It has two separate dwellings - a full cabin with 1 bed and bath (and a loft that is only suitable for smaller children), kitchen, living room and a studio apartment with a bedroom and washer/dryer. Lots of decks and a beautiful view over the valley. The cabin has really good wifi.
The description of the drive to the property does not capture the ruggedness of the approach - had I not had a crossover vehicle we would not have been able to make it to the property!
All in all, if you're looking for a rugged step above a remote cabin in the woods, this is it.

Hi Catherine, the right setting can make all the difference, and we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the peaceful “cabin in the woods” vibe, along with the beautiful views and reliable WiFi. After sharing your feedback with the homeowner, they wanted to provide a bit more context:- While a 4-wheel drive vehicle isn’t required to reach the property, the mountain terrain can feel rugged, especially for guests with smaller vehicles. The homeowner is planning an updated photo session to better show the approach, helping future guests prepare for the drive.- The property is designed to be a comfortable, rustic getaway, and the homeowner regularly maintains it to provide a cozy experience. They’d love to know if there were any specific updates you felt could enhance the cabin.Thank you again for your insights, and we hope you found the unique, remote atmosphere to be a refreshing escape. If your travels bring you back to the area, we’d be happy to host you again!
The area is beautiful and the view from the deck is amazing. Unfortunately, our vacation was nearly ruined because a neighbor reported that they “thought we might have too many guests.” We didn’t. But instead of asking us how many guests we had, we got emergency phone calls and emails to immediately reduce the number of guests to the allowed number. We were below the number. We never even had visitors. Although this is a great cabin with beautiful views, it wasn’t worth the musty smell and the stress of dealing with all of this on our “vacation.”

Overgrown and dark
We were excited to rent this property because the view was amazing! The photos show a well maintained landscape and firepit area as well as well lit rooms and bathrooms.
We couldn't even enjoy the deck because of all the spidewebs, the firepit because we couldn't hardly access it. My boys didn't want to sleep in the loft so my fiance and I took the unattached unit that came with the rental. That was clean and comfortable on the inside. The hot and cold water lines are however switched in that unit. Bring a flashlight with you when you want to shower in the main house as it is dark in the bathroom. I did notify the property contact via email of the issues and concerns we had and all she said was she would pass them along to the owners. We had purchased food to prepare at the property but the refrigerator wasn't working until my brother came over and looked at it but that wasn't until the milk spoiled and the drinks didn't chill.
Otherwise, the house inside was clean and a comfortable place to sit. Beds definitely need updated and window units need replaced or filters cleaned.
We also did like how private and secluded it was, make sure you have a four wheel drive to get back to it. And that view was absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful Deck and Views, but Disappointing Management Communication
The cabin itself has a beautiful deck with a great view and a grill, making it a lovely spot to enjoy the outdoors, especially when the weather is good—as it was during our stay. However, there was a noticeable musty smell inside, and the master bathroom has an extremely tight space for the toilet. While I'm not a large person, anyone who is claustrophobic might feel uncomfortable in that space. Now, onto the major issue we encountered: Although we were well within the allowed guest limit (4 adults and an infant, for a total of 5 people, when the cabin allows 6), we received an URGENT NOTICE in all caps, demanding that we immediately reduce the number of guests. This notice was based solely on a neighbor’s assumption that we “might” have more than six people. The management didn’t ask us how many guests we actually had; instead, they went straight to making accusations. This led to a phone call and voicemail reinforcing the demand, again without any inquiry into our situation. When I explained we were below the guest limit, their only response was to remind us about water usage, which felt dismissive. This kind of treatment really put a damper on our stay. If you do choose this property, be very clear and upfront about your guest numbers to avoid similar problems. Otherwise, it could affect your experience as it did ours.
