The Old Piggery at the White Cottage is a recently refurbished detached dwelling and offers a unique opportunity to escape...
The property is located in Warenton, a small hamlet, that lies in the heart of rural Northumberland and is nestled conveniently between the Cheviot Hills to the west and the coast to the east.
With uninterrupted views of Holy Island (Lindisfarne) in the distance and only 10 minutes drive from Bamburgh. It provides the luxury and sanctuary for the perfect retreat.
The Old Piggery has one large space downstairs. Open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with a log burner. Logs and kindling are provided in The Old Piggery and there are also logs in a black bin behind the utility please help yourselves. If you should need any more there are sacks of logs in the wooden lean to shed on the side of the white cottage for £5 a bag - please help yourselves and leave the money on the kitchen window sill in The Old Piggery.
The ground floor consists of an entrance lobby/utility room that leads to a kitchen/diner living area with a log burner. There is also one double bedroom with a shower room close by.
The second bedroom is upstairs with a double bed and a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over a spa bath.
The views over the fields and the sea in the distance are stunning. The bifold doors and large windows allow the light to come flooding through making the whole property bright light and airy.
The drive is shared with our home (The White Cottage) but guests have plenty of room to park in front of The Old Piggery (off road parking).

The Old Piggery is a great place to stay and the most well-equipped cottage we've ever stayed in. Sue and Phil are ideal hosts and gave excellent advice on the area - we visited places we wouldn't have found without their guidance. We hope to return.

The Piggery was a lovely holiday home for a weeks stay.
The property is in a great location for exploring the different beaches & bays in the area. The beds were really comfy & the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to save taking your own! Brilliant for a weeks stay. We will definitely be back. Thanks to Sue & Phil for being great hosts.

Just spent a week at Sue and Phil’s lovely holiday accommodation. It was so welcoming, as were they. There was everything needed for a restful stay. The kitchen was so well equipped with so many things supplied, even down to tea bags, coffee and cereal. There were fresh flowers and a wonderful welcome pack of fresh fruit and goodies. If we are ever in Northumberland aga8n we will definitely stay at the Piggery. In fact, we have already recommended to friends.
We absolutely loved our stay here. An incredibly well-equipped cottage with so many thoughtful touches. Phil and Sue are superb hosts who are on-hand should you wish with recommendations of where to go/eat and directions to some lovely places. We really enjoyed the fresh eggs, wine and other treats!
We loved it so much we’ve already booked to go back. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation in a beautiful part of the country, look no further.

Thank you so much for your very kind review - it was lovely meeting you both- you were great guests and we very much look forward to seeing you again next year.
This is a wonderful property in an idyllic and isolated situation. The quality of everything is first class and the owners live next door and are on hand in case of any problem and for advice on the local area.
The house is wonderful and there are many extras such as breakfast foodstuffs, cooking materials and toiletries of every kind and the most lovely smelling hand soap.
It really was like home from home and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This was a cosy and comfortable property in a delightful hamlet only 5mins from the A1. Our hosts prepared our visit with a welcome card, fresh flowers, fresh fruit and a plethora of goodies in the fridge and kitchen cupboards. Sue and Phil also provided many tips on local pubs and cafes, as well as local walk suggestions and places to visit. The views from the cottage are stunning with Lindisfarne Castle visible in the distance and, if you’re interested in nature, you’ll see hares, roe deer and foxes, as well as loads of birds within a short stroll from the cottage. This is a 5 star property hosted by charming, friendly people. It couldn’t have been a nicer experience.
The property was wonderfully decorated and designed. It was in a lovely tranquil setting overlooking the Holy Isle yet still only a few minutes from the A1, so great for exploring the area. The four of us slept comportably and enjoyed the spacious and light living area - included watching an incredible variety of birds going about their business just outside the huge living room windows. The weather wasn't kind to us but it didn't matter as there was plenty to do. One day we got a train from Berwick to Edinburgh for a day at the festival - an easy journey of 25 mins to the station and 40 minutes on the train. Still so much to see in the area. We'll certainly be back.

Thank you Robert for your kind review - we loved having you and thank you so much for leaving everything so clean and tidy .
We really enjoyed our stay just outside of Belford. Sue and Phil were wonderful hosts, giving lots of helpful ideas for where to visit in the area. The house was wonderful; really well equipped with everything that you need, comfortable beds as well as beautiful flowers in the garden.
We absolutely loved staying at The Old Piggery and will be going back next year. Sue and Phil cannot do enough for you and were excellent hosts. The cottage is spotlessly clean, and stocked with essentials plus a lovely bottle of red and eggs from the hens (which are the best I have ever tasted!) Sue was amazing with our daughter Ivy from feeding the hens and sheep to showing her how to make wool. Both Sue and Phil also gave great recommendations for the local area including walks we would never have discovered ourselves. This is the perfect escape for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy the beautiful North East. We didn't want to come home!

The Old Piggery is a warm, comfortable beautiful house. It is exceptionally well-maintained and very clean with much attention to detail. The hosts are kind, thoughtful and easy to contact if needed. The house is in a quiet rural setting with lovely views across the countryside and towards Lindisfarne in the distance. We are already looking forward to planning a repeat visit next year.
