This was a very comfortable stay, the accommodation was spacious and very homely. Our host went above and beyond to make our stay easy and pleasant. Nice and quiet area and about a 15 minute drive to Falmouth. Highly recommend this stay.
The property is second to none, clean, comfortable and every need catered for, including special little extras. The hosts were kind friendly people who gave us a very warm welcome. We had an amazing holiday for our anniversary, thank you Shelley and Peter.
This is a great place to stay. The house is tastefully furnished, comfortable, quiet, and has all the modern appliances we needed. Sitting in the conservatory for our meals was like sitting in a restaurant with a view over the well-kept garden. It's set in a small village with a pleasant walk around the local lake. Just a couple of miles from Falmouth, we also had easy access to services and leisure activities.
This is one of the loveliest properties I have ever stayed in. I was actually quite tearful about leaving it.Beautifully comfortable, perfectly appointed and had everything we could possibly need there.Especially enjoyed being able to have a glass of wine of an evening in the covered over gazebo area with the babbling fish pond behind me.
Peaceful oasis in the centre of everything Cornish.
Peaceful location, warm welcome, comfortable surroundings, home from home feel with little things that made you feel special and looked after. Easy access to many key areas of Cornwall, would highly recommend for long or short stay.
Thank you for warm welcome with flowers, ready prepared table and so lovely decorated.
We appreciated this cottage in the evening coming home.

We really enjoyed our stay with Peter and Shelley. The accommodation was lovely, seperate to the main house set within the garden. Very secluded and with outdoor seating and table alongside a koi pool with its gentle waterfall as a backdrop. The village is secluded above a large reservoir with good road access back towards Falmouth. Personally I’d recommend driving that way out towards Falmouth as some of the surrounding lanes are very narrow for those unfamiliar with countryside living. We would both fully recommend staying here if you get the chance. We took the advice of previous guests and had a lovely holiday. Thank you both Dave and Kay.
As said in the title - everything was perfect.
We had a beautiful week in this beautiful house with the georgous garden. We missed nothing and we really felt like home. Thanks again to our hosts Shelley and Peter.

Quaint little retreat perfect for a reantic getaway
Such a lovely little property in a peaceful location 15 minutes from Falmouth it was a perfect base for us to visit Falmouth, Porthleven and St Ives as well as attend a wedding nearby. The hosts made us feel so welcome and were very helpful, especially with getting the BBQ to work. Would happily stay here again and recommend it for any happy couples. Thank you.

Amazingly accomodation in a peaceful location
Great little retreat - one of the most equiped holiday cottages we have ever stayed in - Pete & Shelley think of everything including loads of little welcoming touches. The accomodation is very clean with modern state of the art appliances etc. Location is fantastic in the sense that you are very close to all the local attractions like the Lizard, Falmouth etc. We will definately stay again. Thank you Pete & Shelley for making us so welcome :)

Thank you, we are so glad you enjoyed your time here and the coastal path walking. We've erected a pergola in the garden with hammock chair for relaxing in - just the job to wait out these hot summer days! Look forward to your next visit. All the best Pete & Shelley
Shelley and Peter were very friendly and accommodating. Loafers Glory was a well equipped. Shelley provided fresh milk, yummy cookies and fresh flowers. Lots of privacy, pleasant garden. Everything we needed was provided. Koi pond was nice surprise.

A rural stay
The accommodation is a conversion in the garden of the main house. Parking is in the shared carport. It is charming and compact in a small hamlet. The A39 is approximately 5km drive through the narrow lanes common in Cornwall.

A warm winter stay at Loafers Glory
We received a very warm welcome on arrival at Loafer's Glory. Owners Shelley and Pete had thought of everything from detailed directions to a fridge stocked with baby food (for our 6 month old), milk and bubbly (for us!), myriad toiletries and a table laid ready for dinner. The accommodation is a good size for 2 (or with a baby like us) with a lounge/kitchen and pretty conservatory and is very well decorated and homely with lots of nice touches - plenty of books and magazines, good size TV, Sabatier knives. Loafer's Glory is located in a pretty quiet village a short drive from Penryn and Falmouth. All in all we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend to anyone after more than just a base.

Idyllic retreat
Peter and Shelley couldn't have been more helpful. Everything you could possibly expect to be in a holiday cottage was provided and much more besides. The covered outside seating area/pergola was extremely useful due to some of the inclement weather we encountered while staying there.
Wherever we went on our days out we always felt very happy at the end of the day to be coming 'home'. Really close to good shops with easy parking. Lots of information in the handbook and a beautifully appointed and equipped place to stay. When our family with small children came to visit us, they provided a bubble machine and colouring books when it was rainy. It is a very peaceful place; hardly any traffic or noise. We arrived to a table set for dinner, beautiful roses and some milk in the fridge. We doubt we will ever find anything quite as perfect as this. The area is beautiful and there are plenty of places to explore.

Absolutely lovely
We stayed at Loafers Glory for a week the end of September. Were warmly greeted by Shelley and Peter and shown around. Lovely touch of flowers and some saffron buns together with some provisions in the fridge and cupboards. A lovely quiet position and as we were fortunate to have almost perfect weather we even managed to have afternoon tea in the garden most days. Very well equipped with everything you would need in your own home. As our first time staying in Cornwall we did some of the tourist visits (St Ives, St Michaels mount etc.) but as out of season was not too busy. We both also enjoyed Falmouth itself, along the beaches, the harbour and the town. Eventually ran out of time before we were able to see all the places on my 'list' so will hopefully return again. Would highly recommend staying. A great position for visiting lots of lovely places. Thank you Shelley and Peter for a lovely break.

Loafers Glory Treverva Falmouth
Was glorious and lots of loafing, was done 😉
Thank you both for a fabulous week, made extra special with all your little touches, such as fresh flowers, tea tray, table laid, on arrival, milk, drinks, and groceries to get us started, and bathrobes to save us packing. We also enjoyed your CDs as we dined on home-cooked local produce. In August for Falmouth, Tall Ships we had a week of all seasons, glorious, sunshine, torrential rain, storm, Betty, glorious sunshine. We walked to local pubs, the new inn at Mabe,
Twice, fab food! including a night walk back around the reservoir, and the Trelowarren. Friday fireworks viewed from PizzaExpress were great. On-board Tall ships was definitely a fab experience (after a 1.5 hour hot and sunny queue). Sad we missed the laser shows and crew parades, which were not as well advertised.
Thanks for letting us stay the extra night after the storm. The Sun returned and we had a wonderful day at Swan pool beach.
Definitely a gloriously loafing week, hope to stay again in the future.
Very well-equipped and furnished in a small space, without feeling cramped, with a neat secluded garden, and extremely helpful and friendly owners. Ideal for visiting the nearby coast and its many attractions, ranging from Falmouth harbour to the Cornish Seal sanctuary and Trebah gardens. A car is probably essential and a willingness to face narrow Cornish lanes and their drivers.

Thank you Peter it was a pleasure to host you. You will be interested to learn that there is now a 20mph restriction in many of the villages in Cornwall including Treverva. Hopefully this will help drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike. Best Wishes
Absolutely delighted with the small touches. Devon cream tea on arrival. Friendly hosts and so clean. Felt so private. Central to explore falnouth area. So much to visit and a visit to Minack a must.
Really quiet beautifully decorated spotlessly clean. Everything u could want. Hosts really lovely people. Even left cream tea, milk, sugar, all cleaning products. Just a bit too far from beaches. Very narrow roads to access property. Best stay we have ever had in Cornwall

What a great find! A perfect location for exploring the delights of Cornwall, Loafers Glory delivered.
The owners were super friendly and helpful.
The accomadation was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything being of a high standard.
The garden was a delightful place to enjoy the cream tea that was awaiting our arrival.
I would highly recommend this property.

About the host
Hosted by Shelley Thorpe
Your hosts, Shelley and Peter have not looked back since moving to Treverva from the nearby Harbour town of Falmouth twenty two years ago. We have spent many years between us holidaying and living in Cornwall, working in Engineering, the Health Service, Education and Marine Industry. Previously from Leicester and Liverpool, a desire for a slower pace of life and chance to indulge in his hobbies of water sports led Peter to Cornwall, much as Shelley's parents some 42 years ago. We also enjoy travelling and have extensively toured the UK staying in numerous Guest Houses and B&B's in search of our ancestors.
Why they chose this property
We are still surprised to be finding new delightful areas in this part of Cornwall (beaches, creek-sides, villages and gardens), which we would be happy to share with you.
The main barn was used as a headquarters by the local land army in the 2nd world war.
Loafers Glory is named after the boat which Shelley's parents bought when realising their dream all those years ago.
What makes this property unique
We have been lovingly modernising the property over the last 20 years and think we have managed to build a high quality holiday experience which we ourselves would be delighted to receive.
Last year we built a double oak carport for guests to use. This year we have installed a small convenient dishwasher and a new conservatory roof, allowing guests to be more comfortable throughout the year. We are planning to install electric car charging point in the not too distant future too.
