Decadent Georgian Residence

Situated on the perimeter of the Peak District, this Grade 2 listed Georgian house is the perfect getaway for family and friends gathering.

Whether you’re looking for a luxurious countryside getaway, or an exciting group holiday, we have something for everyone. Located just a 10 minute walk from the picturesque Lumsdale Falls, a 20 minute drive from the divine Chatsworth House and with Matlock Bath on our doorstep, this property is perfect for exploring Derbyshire and the Peak District.

The space
This fabulous, bright and spacious house caters for large groups, sleeping up to 20 people.

With 8 large bedrooms, the accommodation is arranged over 3 stories, extending to over 4000sq ft. There there are facilities to host lots of children too, with 2 bunk beds and a travel cot too.

Perfect for entertaining, there are a collection of Neff appliances, including a dishwasher, slide & hide microwave oven, slide & hide steam oven, slide & hide electric oven, coffee machine, integral fridge freezer and an induction hob with extractor above. In addition to the Neff appliances there is also a Caple wine cooler with two variable cooling zones.

Other amenities such as dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, sound system, as well as 2 Villeroy & Boch fitted shower rooms finished to a high standard, holding a large, walk-in shower enclosure, wall mounted WC, chrome heated towel rail and a double, surface mounted wash hand basin.

There is a lovely dining room plus 2 living rooms, complete with gas fire and cosy sofas. There are 9 smart tvs distributed around the property.

We welcome all pets as long as they can stay downstairs on ground floor levels.

Beautiful property, extremely well maintained & incredibly well stocked and clean.The house is perfectly located for a 5 minute walk into Matlock and ideal for visiting the local area. The rooms are huge, beds beyond comfy & the kitchen and bathrooms have all the latest mod cons!Lizzie was a dream host to deal with, great communication from when we booked it 16months prior to our stay, to answering queries during our stay!10/10 & would recommend to everyone!

What a gorgeous house to reunite with friends for a long weekend. It was cosy and so decadent. Everything felt so luxurious and the location was amazing as well. Cannot recommend enough!

Excellent Property

Fantastic property with plenty of space for the full capacity of guests. All bedooms are excellent with a bathroom on each floor. 2 lounges that are linked by double doors, dining table big enough for the whole group and a well equipped large kitchen.

What a beautiful house. We, along with all of our guest's had an amazing time.The house has everything you will need at a very high standard. Immaculately clean, tidy.It has made my 60th birthday that extra bit special.Also close to Matlock town, within walking distance.Highly recommend a stay at St Andrews HouseOh, and just a wordabout Joyce, the house keeper. Lovely lady,.

✨ Magical ✨

Lizzie’s house is absolutely wonderful! So picturesque, well stocked + the perfect mix of stylish + cozy! We had a wonderful time here with a large group of family + friends as the home base for our wedding + reception this past weekend ☺️ The space worked better than we had hoped for everything we planned both on the day + our private chef dinner the next. Everyone who came has already asked us when we’ll do a reunion here! Lizzie is so kind + an excellent host! She responded very quickly to all of my numerous planning questions before our stay + anything we needed during. Her decor is thoughtful, bedrooms nicely spacious + come with all necessities, bathrooms palatial + all spaces are warm + inviting. We also rented the bolthole which allowed us to have the entire property to ourselves. Helpful given the flurry of action all weekend + allowed us to manage parking, etc more easily. We definitely had to use overflow street parking given the size of the lot and the size of most of our cars (SUVs). The driveway takes some getting used to in larger vehicles but isn’t bad. You’ll definitely have to coordinate a bit with any vendors you use to find it though. There are a bunch of lovely walking paths accessible from the property both into Matlock and off towards the waterfall nearby. For feeling so secluded, the house is still very close to everything you’ll need! Can’t recommend Lizzie + her gorgeous Georgian House enough! Come experience the magic yourself!

Why they chose this property

My husband is from Derbyshire and we love the area so much. It is the most lush and tranquil countryside, with so many local treasures to visit. I visit Chatsworth House every year, which is just a 15 minute drive from our property.

What makes this property unique

Our beautiful Grade II listed property was built in 1757 for the owner of the adjacent mill, Earnest Bailey. Situated on the outskirts of Matlock, there is the most divine waterfall, Lumsdale Falls, just a 5 minute walk up the valley, which I recommend everyone to visit! With a local brook nearby and the constant sound of running water and birds chirping, it really is a charming retreat. I have decorated the residence to be both decadent as well as inviting and cosy. We have enjoyed many family gatherings at our home and we hope you love the space as much as we do.
