Idyllic location

Perfect location for a chilled out break. Quiet, off the beaten track, yet 20 minutes walk from Grasmere village, this is a lovely place for a relaxing week.

Another Grasmere View holiday

We have been staying at Grasmere View for years - at least 15. We've lost count! Its view of Helm Crag and Grasmere Lake is unbeatable. We appreciated the new easy-to-operate TV and the air fryer, and the place was cleaner than sometimes it had been previously. There were two niggling issues - the shower head kept falling down and we couldn't fix it, and the bath is very slippy and there needs to be a shower mat in there to prevent falling over. The hot water to the kitchen sink was even slower than usual and the kitchen floor covering hasn't been changed in all the years we've stayed there. But these are minor issues that don't put us off! The only gripe as we get older with Grasmere View is that the mile walk from Tweedies Bar gets longer every year! Yet again we parked the car and didn't use it until we left for home.

We are pleased you have returned again to Grasmere View and hope we can welcome you back again next year. We have passed your feedback on to the owners who is upgrading gradually and we have asked maintenance to address the shower and bath mat.

Regular visitors

We are regulars for the last 15 years or so to Grasmere view. We park the car and walk - but today are more and more into fantasy fellwalking. Would be great if we could bring our dog with us - we would willingly pay extra. The old place is a bit tired now - and needs some maintenance.

Thank you for your review, we fully understand why you return regularly, the view is one of the best in the Lake District. We have passed your comments onto the owner for consideration and hopefully they will act upon your suggestion. We hope we can welcome you back again to the cottage.

March holiday

This is our third visit to Grasmere View cottage. It has a great location about a mile from the village along a quiet road. A short walk from the lake which the cottage looks over. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything we need. There was a bit of a hic-up with the cleaning when we got there but after a quick phone call within a half an hour it was sorted. The cottage has its own parking space. We will hopefully be bak soon.

Grasmere View as a base for our week hiking in the Lakes

We wanted somewhere nice to stay while we did a six-day hiking holiday in the Lakes. Grasmere View was an absolutely ideal base. The location and the views of it are idyllic. The cottage is high enough to have a wonderful view of Grasmere and the surrounding peaks but also within five minutes walk of the lake itself and fifteen of the village with its pubs and eateries: it's a real pleasure just sitting in the garden enjoying the view. We walked from the front door on three days and had some great hikes. The furthest we drove was over to Langdale to climb up the stunning Langdale Pikes and the Crinkle Crags and that was only fifteen minutes away. The cottage itself served our purposes very well. Its spacious. The bedroom is very nice. The kitchen is well equipped although it could do with some new saucepans. The location is super quiet and private. When we arrived, there was no Wi-Fi but the owner responded quickly and worked with a friend to get the upstairs rooter running again: downstairs, in the cottage part, it was still a bit patchy, but fine if you sat in the right area. Overall, we'd certainly recommend Grasmere View. It was great for us.
