In the heart of this sprawling farmhouse is the impressive games room with an American pool table, dart board, arcade game and table football game as well as another social space. The comfortable snug creaks with leather armchairs and crackles with the roaring wood burner. Here you can dip into the select library or watch the Smart TV, and on fair days the French windows can be opened to lead out on to the large stylish patio with fountain. The deluxe kitchen area is perfect for preparing a banquet, with 3 ovens, microwave, warming drawers, large induction hobs, bottle cooler and huge American fridge/freezer. The island lay-out facilitates a large amount of preparation and cupboard space. The dining room is equipped with a mighty oak table big enough for sixteen guests to dine, and the walls are hung in the salon style with an array of contemporary local art.
Enjoy the natural serenity of this secluded Derbyshire valley from the large terrace, equipped with garden furniture and barbecues, or take time to stroll around the romantic little lake, so reminiscent of the paintings of Watteau. All these exquisite features will truly make Heron House the stay of your dreams.
Ideally situated at the southern tip of the Peak District near the picturesque market town of Ashbourne with its quaint cobbled market place and hidden alleys to explore. Carsington Water is a mere 3-minute walk away offering superb water sports, sailing and bike hire facilities with an area devoted to wildlife, along with cycle and walking trails. Other places to visit nearby include Bakewell, Matlock Bath, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Keddleston Hall, as well as other National Trust and English Heritage properties. It is only a short drive to Dovedale and the other lovely dales of the limestone White Peak District, which offers great walking. A little further afield, visit Alton Towers theme park for a great day out for both adults and children alike.
