Breathtaking Views!!! Elevation is 3250'. Our AIR CONDITIONED cottage has been completely upgraded with hardwood floors and beautiful furnishings. New kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless appliances.

There is a full-size stack washer/dryer in the cottage. Each bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom. Enjoy the deck where you can watch for deer, bears, turkeys, birds and other wildlife.

The cottage is located in beautiful Alpine Village, where you can enjoy convenient access to the Clubhouse, swimming pool, fire pit and shuffleboard court. The heated swimming pool is open usually between Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekends.......weather permitting.

You will enjoy the quiet solitude of our cottage which is surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. Visit Burnsville and surrounding mountain towns. Mt. Mitchell State Park is 30 minutes away and only 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Burnsville has nice restaurants, Craft beer, great shops, music and friendly people.

The hiking trail head starts behind the Clubhouse and goes to the top of Mt. Mitchell a 3400' elevation change. There are many hiking trails in the area, some including waterfalls.

Check-in time is 3:00 pm and Check-out time is 10:00 am.

Access information will be provided at least 3 days prior to the check-in date.

This vacation home is located on a steep mountain ridge and there are hazards relative to staying in a mountain property. By the very booking of this listing, you acknowledge and agree to hold harmless the property owner, property representative or property owner's heirs in perpetuity from the result of any injury, death or incident of any kind by an fault, act or behavior of person or persons and guests thereof lodging or non-guest(s) at this property as a result of this offering or not a result of this offering, including but not limited to acts of God and/or nature.

Utility outages (power, cable, internet, phone or water) are out of our control. We make every effort for a quick resolve. There are no adjustments or refunds due to outages.

Mt. Mitchell 2 is a stand alone cottage with great appeal. There are hardwood floors throughout, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, central AC/Heat. There are two beautiful bedrooms, Main bedroom has a King bed with fabulous private views of the mountains and a remodeled bathroom with walk -in shower. The Guest room has a Queen bed with the same views and also a beautiful bathroom with walk- in shower. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV. Enjoy your coffee on the front porch or back deck watching the wildlife and birds.

The living room/dining area has a Gas log fireplace, Dish TV, Wifi and free long distance on the cottage telephone.

You have access to all amenities of our Alpine Village Community: A heated salt water swimming pool (usually Open between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends), weather permitting, shuffleboard court, corn hole, and the Clubhouse where you can play a game of pool, watch the big screen TV or borrow books, games and puzzles.

Wonderful getaway

We spent several days here during our road trip through the Carolinas. If you want to get away from basically everything and enjoy nature, this is the place to go! Had everything we needed to cook a few meals here and has great hikes in the area. Would love to come back one day

This cottage is in a very nicely laid-out development with nicely paved roads with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The cottage itself was extremely clean with all the basics supplied and then some. The highlights for us were the very nice showers and back deck with it's lovely view.

Fall Color

We booked this property last minute to get together with friends we hadn’t seen for a while to do some hiking, visit some wineries and breweries, and enjoy each others’ company. We took day trips to Mt. Mitchell (1 hr drive), Chimney Rock (1-1/2 hour drive), and Craggy Gardens (45 min drive). Due to location, it took about 20-30 minutes to get to the main roads to go anywhere (typical for a cabin at elevation). The paved roads to the cabin were better than some that only have gravel roads. The view from the deck of the cabin is nice, but somewhat obscured by 2 large trees (accurately depicted in pictures on the listing). The view from the common pool area across the parking area from the cabin is spectacular! The cabin is well-stocked for cooking (we cooked every night and didn’t lack for anything) although the kitchen is only really big enough for one person - but it is open to the dining and living area so the chef is not isolated from everyone else. We are used to cooking on a gas stove so the glass electric cooktop took some getting used to. The bedrooms were good sized. Although I did not find the king bed comfortable (too firm for my taste), no one else in my party had an issue with the beds. The cabin was well-appointed and newly renovated. I did take a star off for cleanliness because I dropped something on the floor in the bedroom which rolled under the bed and I had to fish it out from the midst of the dust bunnies. Would definitely stay here again, but might bring my swiffer with me.

Perfect Mountain Retreat!

A nice, relaxing mountain retreat. Place had gorgeous views of mountains from both bedrooms and more so out the front of the property. Nicely decorated and modernized for sure. From the views, to all of the nice touches from plug extenders and multiple TVs, this place was a treat for sure. Please be aware that the grocery stores are a 1/2 hour away (mentioned in the property description) so I would suggest going shopping before arriving. Highly recommend! Dave

We purchased this property because we really enjoy the solitude and beauty of the mountains. Our family has had property at Alpine Village since the late 1980's and we want to continue this family tradition. Our children are the 4th generation to enjoy Alpine Village and all the Blue Ridge Mountain area has to offer.

We also own the cottage next door called Mt. Mitchell I if you are looking to have a family reunion or need to accommodate more in your party. Mt. Mitchell I has also been renovated.
