The apartment is modern and is in a safe,quiet street very close to the Acropolis and Plaka areas of Athens -you can walk there in 20 mins. It is close to the train stations of Petralona and Thissio (part of the Athens Metro -15 mins walk) and next to the bus stop that takes you to Syntagma and Omonia Square. The building has only 3 apartments ,has an elevator and it is located high on a hill (western slope of Phillopapou hill) with a pleasant outlook. An easy walk away just a few minutes and there are small tavernas, cafes, supermarket, banks and other shops in the neighborhood. It is on the 2nd floor overlooking a park and has an elevator. It is fully furnished with modern furniture and the kitchen is fully equipped.

Very comfortable apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Many amenities, shops, supermarket, cafes and restaurants. The apartment was very clean, plenty of room, lovely balcony across the street from a school. There is a pedestrian walkway taking you to the Acropolis, Monasteraki and Plaka. The apartment is as advertised, easy and quick communication with the owner. I've been to Athens many times and I highly recommend this location.

This lovely apartment is 2 minutes walk from wonderful restaurants and bars and about 15 to 20 minutes away from the acropolis on foot. It is well-located for train travel, too. We would highly recommend it.

Great place to stay in Athens!

We had a great time in Zois apartment. Maria and her son met us and showed us around, Zois arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport. The neighborhood is great, walkable, lots of restaurants, a super market close by. Over the hill is the acropolis and all the tourist action which allows you to combine a more authentic neighborhood and tourism easily.

Nice stay for Easter at Zois'

The appartement is confortable at a 15-20 minutes walk from the Akropolis. All is quite new and clean. The terrasse is very enjoyable for breakfast. A grocery, a bar and a restaurant are very close to the appartement. Welcome by Zois and Maria was very good. Much appreciated!

A month in history

Our stay could not have been better. After many years of visiting Athens in various locations and times of the year I've finally got it about right. This location is not the center for tourists, about 15 or 20 walk to the Acropolis Museum, but it is a fine quiet residential neighborhood with local cafes and 'normal' prices. Just several hundred meters from the Pnyx, the Bema and Fillapappos Hill. The huge second floor balcony looking into the park made every meal fabulous... on and on..

Don't second guess yourself, book this awesome apartment for your vacation in Athens!!! My wife and I had a lovely stay here from start to finish. The owner Zios was kind enough to schedule a taxi for us from the airport which made it stress free for our first time visiting Greece. Upon arrival, Maria the cleaning lady was there to greet us, show us around the apartment, and hand over the keys. The apartment is just a short walk away to all the sights and sounds. It was nice coming back to a quiet neighborhood at the end of the day. We highly recommend the Valitsa restaurant, its a yellow tavern around the corner from the apartment. The food is authentic and to die for!

Visiting relatives in Athens

This was a great apartment! I had constant contact with the owner and the description of the apartment was exactly as I found it. The walk to and from the train in Petralona was very doable and I never felt unsafe walking alone even after dark. This allowed me to take public transportation when meeting relatives on a daily basis or getting into the old town area to see the sites without having to take a taxi everywhere. Each morning I went out for a 40-50 minute exercise walk and could walk to the Akropolis area safely and easily. Loved being there and having all the space and amenities of home.

Perfect place to stay for so many reasons!

This place was so good for our family! Location was incredible—10 min walk from the acropolis area, parks, museums
all there. The local restaurants were so good we kept eating in the neighborhood—not one bad meal! Groceries are right there, coffee shops and whatever else you’re looking for! The triplex that the suite is situated is in great and the other owners are very friendly. The suite itself is as advertised
simple but very nice. Quiet inside, not so much on the balcony due to the kids and the traffic. The owner’s assistant, Marie, is incredible. There was nothing negative to disclose. I’d go back for sure.

A lovely apartment in a great location for seeing the sights of Athens.

The apartment was in a great location just two Metro stops from Monastraki Square (it was a 5 minute walk from the apartment to the Metro). Communication with Zois was excellent from the moment we booked and the additional information document he provided was extremely useful indeed. The check in with Maria also went smoothly too and she was there to meet us and check us out. The apartment itself was very clean and well equipped and accessible within walking distance of the Acropolis. The local area was very quiet, with the only downside being that a few local amenities were closed due to the bank holiday, but that was simply the timing of our visit in mid August. We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment and Athens were great. Thank you Zois (and Maria)!

Clean apartment; great neighborhood

The apartment was exactly as described-very clean and good neighborhood. Lots of good restaurants, coffee and grocery stores within 10 minute walk and key sites within 20-25 minute walk. Beds were comfortable. Washing machine was very helpful to have (and clothes lines were set up and easily accessible outside bedrooms). Zois was very responsive and Maria (caretaker) was very nice and the apartment was very clean. The AC was needed and worked perfectly. The park across the street has turtles and we really enjoyed seeing them eating in the morning as we walked to Parthenon or the montastiraki markets (their food bowls are near the fence and someone feeds them there). The price was very reasonable for the apartment.

Fabulous Apartment

We just had a very enjoyable stay at this wonderful apartment. We were a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. The unit was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The owner was available online even though he was out of the country, answering all of our questions promptly. Troon Street on the next corner was brilliant, with cool cafes, restaurants, supermarket and health food shop for gluten free/bio products etc. The location was ideal for us, not at all touristy and generally very quiet. The random church bells were not at all a problem, we barely noticed them. We walked everywhere as the Acropolis and surrounds were easily accessible, but we don't mind walking. Otherwise it's not far from closest Metro. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone. Thanks to Zois and his caretaker Maria.

Home away from home

Zois is a great communicator-easy to reach quick to respond . Apartment is clean and a good size with everything you need. The location is real good - short walks to the historical sights and shopping (15-20 minutes). If you like feeling part of the community and experience the greek culture this is the place . I stayed 5 nights and the local people were so helpful and friendly . We actually became friends with some and found a gem of a restaurant around the corner at 34 Troon st- Lemon Anthos Great ethnic greek food - family owned and fantastic people When I return to Athens will stay here again - highly recommended Jimmy

Both countries have much to offer in history and culture as well as amazing environment and lifestyle.

Why they chose this property

I bought the property as a home for me and my family because it is in my view an excellent location in Athens close to all amenities and historical sites yet quiet like a village.If like me you enjoy walking and exploring its a great spot from which to get to know one of the oldest areas of Athens near Thissio on the slopes of Philopappou hill from where you can get the most beautiful view of ancient and modern Athens.
During the summer months I like to attend a concert or theater in the beautiful Herodion Theater - it is a memorable experience under the stars not to be missed.

What makes this property unique

Its a traditional unspoiled location retaining many traditional features of an Athenian neighborhood. People here are friendly and the pace is a little slower.There are excellent tavernas,cafes and tsipouradika in nearby Troon St. where you can enjoy traditional Greek food at reasonable prices.The train stations Petralona or Thissio are nearby and can take you to most places in Athens including Athens airport and Piraeus port.
