This was our first time staying in an apartment in Europe and it couldn't have been better! Maria Pia and her husband were gracious and generous hosts. When we arrived they invited us into their home (just across the hall from this apartment), offered us a cappuccino and told us all about the neighborhood, where to eat, what to do and how to get around. They both speak very good English and were readily available via texting and WhatsApp. The apartment was just as described and pictured with plenty of extra sheets, pillows and towels. Doing laundry in the mini washer in the bathroom was an excellent bonus. The elevator to the 6th floor was also a big plus. We felt very safe and secure in the apartment, the front door seems to be made of steel with a massive dead-bolt. Air conditioning was good to have, although the unit seemed to struggle to keep up with the blazing heat wave in the middle of July.
The south side of St. Peter's Square and the Vatican is just up the street, not even a 5min walk! Several restaurants and places for gelato on the way too. There's a grocery store the opposite direction, maybe a 10min walk - just don't forget, you have to weigh your own produce!
Overall, due to Maria Pia's hospitality, we felt as if we were staying with friends!
