The host was very quick to respond and made sure we were able to check in early which was great! It was very close to downtown Ghettysburg, about a 5 minute drive. My only con would be the cleanliness, I wish it was cleaner.
Everything was exactly as described and it’s in an amazing location—quiet at night but close to amenities and historic sites when you want to go out. Communication and check-in were extremely smooth and the place is beautiful. Will definitely visit again!
What a gem of a place- small quiet everything you need for a wonderful get away. We used this cottage for a ski trip. The property is located in a great area - both close to Gettysburg, wineries, breweries, skiing and shopping. The property is very well equipped and super clean- highly recommend. owner was very responsive to all of our questions.
I truly have to say is this home was so welcoming and when you went in it was so peaceful and welcoming. All you need to do is show up with your family and food. That’s if you want to cook. I’m DEFINITELY COMING BACK So close to everything. Everything was PERFECT

Liked: Location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
I was extremely disappointed in this property. The only good aspects were the location and size. The house has a very bad odor that hits you when you walk through the door. There were several cleaning issues; stained dirty bath mat and towels, floors only vacuumed not cleaned, all baseboards full of dust, what appears to be mold behind the vents in the air conditioners in the bedrooms. The screened in porch full of cobwebs, dirt & dust with dirty furniture and the laundry facilities unuseable to me as I was to afraid to go into the basement where they were located because of the extensive dirt and cobwebs. I found a live wasp in one of the bedrooms and then found an active wasps nest between the window and air conditioner. Not a good environment to gather with family and grandchildren.

We are extremely disappointed to read this review, as it does not accurately reflect our property or the experience consistently reported by our guests.
We take the cleanliness, condition, and comfort of our home very seriously. We encourage anyone considering our property to read the many reviews from previous guests, which provide a much broader and more accurate picture of the home and the care that goes into maintaining it.
We also want to provide important context. During this guest’s stay, concerns were raised along with a request for compensation. We took the concerns seriously; however, we did not believe the circumstances justified providing a free or significantly discounted stay. Unfortunately, after that request was not accommodated, this review followed.
We strongly disagree with several of the characterizations made here. The description of the property as excessively dirty, unsafe, or unsuitable for families is simply not consistent with the condition in which the home is maintained or with the experiences shared by the overwhelming majority of our guests.
Could an occasional cobweb, insect, or maintenance issue occur at a home? Of course, particularly depending on the season. If something legitimate needs attention, we want to know about it and will address it. That is very different from the overall picture presented in this review.
We respect every guest’s right to share their experience, including criticism. At the same time, we believe prospective guests deserve to hear our side as well. We stand behind our property, our cleaning and maintenance efforts, and the long history of positive guest experiences reflected in our reviews.
We invite future guests to look at the complete body of reviews and make their own informed decision.
Clean, well maintained and close to everything we needed but quiet and away from the bussle. Owner was very responsive and even provided dining suggestions.
