A great little cabin tucked away in a wooded area yet very close to town. We loved the privacy & our stay was very relaxing. We enjoyed the fire pit, went on a few hikes, explored the coastline, & enjoyed shopping & dining in town. Leslie was a terrific host & responded quickly to any questions we had. Would highly recommend staying here!
Leslie was a great host and communicated with us during our check-in and beyond. The location was perfect and the accommodations were as we expected. Will definitely consider staying here again.
This cabin gives you the best of both worlds when it comes to a trip to Maine. You get the idyllic and cozy cabin in the woods experience, and you also get the cute ocean town experience. The cabin gives you access to both and we loved every bit of it! The hosts are lovely, caring and reliable people who were available at all times from the beginning to the end of the trip--very responsive and polite. Boothbay is a beautiful area with plenty to do and see, and the cabin is a perfect place to stay while you see it all.
What a delightful little space to spend a summer week in Maine! We were there with two tween/teen boys and two large dogs and everyone loved it! The walk to the beach was delightful, neighbors were friendly and the setting can’t be beat. There is even a little trail that you can walk the dogs on through the woods if you want! First trip to Maine and won’t be our last.
A lovely little cabin with nice furniture, a well appointed kitchen (with a dishwasher and nice pots and pans), a high end grill, etc. as well as great common spaces with the screened in porch being a highlight. Sprucewold was gorgeous, with the beach club being immaculate.I’ve stayed many places in Lincoln County, ME and this is a good one. Especially if you’re looking for a family friendly, dog friendly, clean cabin.
The cabin was perfect; everything we needed and more was provided. We loved the location, as it was minutes from the harbor but far enough away to provide a peaceful stay. Leslie was helpful prior to and during the stay; providing restaurants, location of tennis courts, suggesting the Botanical Gardens and more. Check-in was a breeze, and we were settled shortly after arriving. The screen porch is perfect for morning coffee, reading a book or working on a puzzle. Overall we loved our week and will be back.Thank you Leslie for your hospitality.
Our family … mom, dad, two teens and pup … really enjoyed our stay at this cozy, well-appointed cabin that served as a convenient base to explore Boothbay Harbor. Very clean, attractive, super private.
Had a great time with family of 5. The cabin had plenty of room and everything one could need. Our hosts were attentive and offered great suggestions on what to do in the area. If we ever travel to this region again we would look to book with them again.
This place is fantastic! So close to Boothbay Harbor, East Boothbay and Southport, but secluded and quiet. Perfect for a relaxing get away. Would definitely stay here again. Leslie, our host, was super communicative and made check in a breeze! Highly recommend!

Quiet, cottage location on a peninsular with easy accessibility (7mins by car, 40 mins walking) to Boothbay Harbor town and surrounding region. Communication with the owners was particularly good and very personable.
Quiet and peaceful yet close to everything. Hosts were wonderfully accommodating, with great communication. Cabin was super clean, dry, comfortable and well equipped for any kind of weather. Great place for dogs, with many lovely and dog-friendly hiking trails close by. Was looking for a restorative vacation close to nature but with creature comforts and could not have asked for more. Would stay again and look forward to it all winter!
This cabin checked so many boxes for us: great location; nicely appointed interior, screen porch, outside firepit, beach access, loft for the kids, CD collection, very dog friendly neighborhood. We saw turkeys, dear, and bats right at the cabin!. Our first time in Bar Harbor did not disappoint, and it will not be our last.
We loved our two week stay at the cozy pet-friendly cabin. It was wonderful taking walks throughout the community. The private local beach is so nice and within walking distance. The cabin was centrally located to enjoy all the Boothbay Preservation Nature trails and with heading into town for dinner. We all had a great vacation.
We were grateful to find this cabin available on short notice after other plans got cancelled, and it turned out to be such a wonderful trip! The cabin definitely feels like it is out in the woods, but it's a short drive to shops & restaurants & other points of interest. The large screened-in porch was perfect for spending time outside without worrying about bug spray. We enjoyed riding the bikes to the community beach, and having campfires in the fire pit in the evenings. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower is fantastic. The owners were great to work with, and have provided everything you need - toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish & hand soap, nice sheets, and the biggest, cushiest bath towels I have ever seen. We brought our 2 dogs with us, and it worked out really well for them too. We would absolutely stay here again, and we probably will!
Deer Creek cabin offers guests privacy in the woods with easy and fast access to the town of Boothbay Harbor. We were happily surprised with the quality of the furniture, easily the best we have seen yet in cabins in Maine. The kitchen was well equipped except for the quality of the flatware. The hosts thought of just about everything and were very responsive to our needs. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
We loved everything about this chalet! It is very clean, the screened porch is great and with teenagers, it gives enough space for everyone to have their own space when needed. There is everything needed in the kitchen. The location is quiet and feels secluded, yet it is very easy to get to the village and it is an excellent base to visit midcoast Maine if you are outdoorsy. Reid State Park and Popham Beach are one hour away, there are many short hikes around and you can go sailing or kayaking. The small beach is good for a swim after a day of activities. We have loved everything about the chalet and Leslie was really welcoming and helpful.
This property was as cozy and relaxing as it is presented in the listing. It had the feeling of being deep in the woods but it’s actually within a few minutes of Boothbay center and I’m talking 5 to 6 minutes of drive time. The kitchen was well stocked with whatever utensils we needed to prepare meals at home if we chose. We loved our stay in this sweet little cabin and had a great time exploring Boothbay and surrounding areas. The owners were extremely accommodating and responsive and accessible should we have had a need. Five Stars in my book!
The cabin feels bigger than advertised. Perfect for a family with a couple big kids or a few little ones. Cabin is well-appointed with nice furnishings, a small AC unit, good cutlery, stylish Moose plates and cups, and a set of Green Pans. Indoor shower is tight but there is also a larger outdoor shower.
Owners are very communicative and responsive.
We enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch, reading or watching for the daily wild turkey visits. The beach is a short walk away, with a nice swimming area. The kids enjoyed catching crabs. You are a quick drive into Boothbay Harbor with many shops and restaurants, and you could walk it if inclined.
My husband, friend and I, stayed as the cabin was a mile from my nephews cabin where the whole family was spending the week. We wanted our own little space and this was a perfect solution. We loved the remote location which was a shady mile walk from our nephews property. Although we didn’t utilize the beach, we did like the ability to do so if we wanted.
The beach was a bit further than we anticipated.
The cabin is well stocked and very clean. Laura and Leslie were very communicative- letting us know when the lawn services were coming, etc.
Quiet and well maintained, I wouldn’t hesitate to rent again! Was also wonderful to have to AC!
My family had a great stay at Deer Creek Cabin, nestled in the little Sprucewold neighborhood of Boothbay Harbor. It suited our needs perfectly—a master bedroom for me & husband; a cute loft with two beds for my 12 & 15 year olds; & a futon-style couch for my 17 yr old. Perhaps most importantly, we were permitted to bring our (very well-behaved, clean, non-destructive!) dog with us, who seemed to love the cabin & property as much as we did!
Leslie & Laura were top hosts, greeting us upon arrival & then later checking in on our needs. They really thought of everything, which was great. A fully equipped kitchen, linens & towels, washer & dryer (huge when traveling with kids!) & for those rainy nights, Netflix. They also made sure our dog had food/water bowls & left a little goody bag for her, which was very considerate!
We enjoyed the solitude of the property, yet appreciated that we were a three minute drive to the village center. We also took a nice, easy hike, located just up the road. It really is the best of both worlds. You can go explore the cute shops & restaurants of Boothbay, but go retire to the woods, away from the hustle & bustle. We also had access to the private beach, which was nice.
I’d like to thank Laura & Leslie for making it affordable. All too often, a family trip can be cost prohibitive. This was top lodging, & suitable for family budgets. Do not hesitate to rent this cozy little cabin. It’s probably even more appealing in the fall foliage!

About the host
Hosted by Leslie Dietiker
We are former Californians who went to graduate school in Michigan and then settled with jobs at Boston University! Making Maine our second home only makes sense - it reminds us of the nature plentiful in Northern CA and the New England feel of our new Massachusetts home. We have two sons, two dogs, and love nature. We also rent the Little Dipper cabin in East Boothbay (waterfront in East Boothbay - see #769769 for more information).
Why they chose this property
We've always dreamed of having a log cabin with beach access and now our dream has come true! This cabin offers quiet solitude while still being close to the countless activities of the area - shopping, restaurants, water sports, etc. We've prepared this cabin for your comfort and convenience - high quality sheets and towels, specialized dish ware, comfortable seating, and high speed internet. Parents can relax on the screened porch while the kids run around in full view!
What makes this property unique
This cabin is very private and near the end of a private road that gets little traffic. We named the cabin after two features - you can enjoy the many deer that stroll through the property, as well as the variety of birds as you sip coffee on the deck by the little creek on the edge of the property. The region is extremely dog-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are often seen in restaurants and stores.
