About this property
River Access Cabin with Hot Tub, Fire Pit & WiFi!
Summary:
Welcome to Hillside Hideaway, hosted by Blue Maple!
A cozy cabin nestled in the West Virginia mountains, with everything you need for your getaway.
The highlights:
- Relax in the outdoor hot tub!
- Grill and enjoy a glass of wine
- Hang out and roast s’mores around the fire pit
- Play in the small stream just a short walk from the cabin
- Stream movies or take video calls on fast WiFi
- Just mins to Cacapon State Park for great hiking & golf, or Berkeley Springs for amazing restaurants
The Space:
Our family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends.
The cabin includes:
- Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
- 2 bedrooms, both with queen-size beds + a sleeper sofa in the living room + futon in the den
- Fully-stocked kitchen with stove/oven and microwave
- Wood stove to keep you cozy at night
- AC units to keep you comfortable in the warm summer months
- Outside fire pit with Adirondack chairs for the whole gang
Our cabin also has private access to Sleepy Creek, just a quick 15 min walk from the cabin. It's a shallow creek most of the year, but great for cooling off in the summer and for the kids to hunt frogs and crawfish. :)
Please note: our cabin is secluded, and without cell service. We love disconnecting from the world while we're there and putting away our smart phones, but please plan accordingly. That said, we have plenty of board games, outdoor games, and the hot tub to enjoy!
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are -- particularly Great Cacapon State Park and Berkeley Springs. The park is free to enter and has miles of hiking trails, a beach and small lake, golf course, horse stables, and a clay shooting range. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint!

THE CABIN WAS CLEAN AND WELL STOCKED, PERFECTLY AS DESCRIBED. LOVED THE HOT TUB! LOCATION WAS GREAT FOR WHAT WE INTENDED THE WEEKEND TO BE, RELAXING BUT CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE ENTERTAINMENT AS NEEDED.

We had a very short stay, but it was nothing short of relaxing and enjoyable! The house was clean, the creek was spectacular with so much wildlife to appreciate, and the hot tub was a great way to end the day.
Very much enjoyed our stay!

Thanks again for staying with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime. :)
Hot tub was very nice, but did have a green tint in the water on the last day we were there. Might need to be cleaned or maintained. The kitchen was stocked okay, but we would have loved to have a blender, dish rack for drying, and ice trays. Overall, very beautiful cabin and responsive host. We chose to stay an extra night!

Our group had a fantastic time at the cabin rental. The hot tub, BBQ grille, and fire pit were all great amenities, and the wifi was a nice bonus. There was plenty of space for our two groups of friends, and we all had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend this cabin for group getaways.
My girlfriend and I, our two friends, and two dogs all had a great time on our little weekend getaway. The place was nice and the hot tub was hot! Had everything we needed. Thank you again for the stay.
This cabin is above all else. It has an open atmosphere with great amenities and beautifully decorated. It’s far enough away for privacy and close enough to town for essentials. The host was very friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable.
Cabin is located in the woods, was very tiny, dining table big enough for 8 of us to meet up for dinner. Host was very responsive and informed us as soon as cleaning was finished so we could check in early if wanted.

Thanks for your feedback, Lou. We’re glad you found the cabin cozy and the bed comfortable. We appreciate your suggestion about the AC and will look into it. It was a pleasure assisting you during your stay, and we hope to welcome you back soon. Best, Tony
The AC was insufficient for the heat. I would suggest another unot in the TV room. I understand it was exceptionally hot, but we had to purchase 2 fans to help. The cabin was quaint and the bed comfy! Tony was constantly available if needed!

This was a perfect book reading getaway! There were deer roaming around and the quietness of the area was really nice! Tony was super nice and accommodating! I would not hesitate to recommend this home and book it again!
Cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (+pup). Lots of attention to detail and super clean. The host was ext helpful and the location was just the right mix of off the grid/close to stores, etc.

We hope we provided you with a 5-star stay!
We were very impressed with how sparkling clean the place was! It was immaculate! The property
was EXACTLY as pictured and described! The bed linens felt so luxurious as were the towels! Our stay was just what we needed to get away from the businesses of the holiday!
Loved the quiet location, hot tub, wood stove. House was great except for the dust webs and dust on ceiling fans. Had a great time relaxing and enjoying nature.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the hideaway cottage. Tony was very communacative thru out the process. The cottage is adorable, well maintained and accomodating. The hot tub was a perk as well! We will definitely visit the hideaway cottage again soon! Thx Tony!
The cabin is very spacious and welcoming inside, the hot tub and outdoor area is amazing, the walk to river was fun and relaxing, the kids had a blast collecting shells and trying to catch craw fish. We had a quick 2 day trip, but it was amazing all around. We absolutely did not want to leave. Thank you .for the best 48 hours we could've hoped for.

My husband and I were looking for a last-minute getaway and Tony’s Cabin was an excellent value. We enjoyed the chairs around the fire pit and the hot tub on the property.
The location was just a few minutes off of 522 and about 15 minutes from Cacapon State Park (hiking, mountain biking, skeet shooting, golf) and about 30 minutes from Berkeley Springs where we enjoyed browsing the unique shops and the Old Roman Bath House.
Tony’s place was exactly as pictured and easy to check into. He was responsive and had good recommendations for us.
A great place for couples, the family, or some good friends to gather and relax.

Not worth ! Property needs ALOT of maintenance inside & out. Big improvements are needed in cleanliness, safety & aesthetics. Shower & curtain were dirty, black mold on woodwork, peeling paint. Bed & doors creak so loud it wakes up others! Bathroom electric heater is broken. No electric heat in lower living room. Window blinds are broken, sills are filthy. There are safety issues (empty fire extinguisher & no carbon monoxide detector); some lights & fans don't work. Not as described--driveway is not pull through, kitchen lacks some basic equipment (no dish drain/mat, mixer, large pots/pans etc). Sink was dirty. Stink bugs fell into our food from the skylight. Firepit is shallow; doesn't properly contain a fire. Yard needs cleaning & old broken items removed including old mattress & furniture stored in shed. Stepping stones are improperly installed. So much wrong here. Host was communicative, apologetic and said everything would be fully addressed but I have no way of knowing. Some of the same items were reported years ago in reviews by other guests.
My friend and I spent the weekend here and it was perfect. Easy to find but secluded, clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Close to the park and the Town of Berkeley Springs also which provided nice day trips. The fall foliage was beautiful and we had a very relaxing weekend.
We really enjoyed our time in Berkley Springs this weekend! The home was amazing with so many great amenities. Our host was great and shared all the information we needed for check-in and things to do in the area.
Location was in a beautiful area. Not complete seclusion but quiet area in the mountains. Sitting outside at night you could hear the wildlife, especially the owls.
New grill and great hot tub a plus. Spent some time down at the creek with the dog was nice. Sign says bear in the area but did not see any. Many State Parks near by. Had no complaints. Property as described. The host Tony was very responsive with my questions! I would definitely stay here or at one of their other properties again.
Great location for taking walks, and stream access was fun. Also good location close to hiking in sleepy creek wma. The hot tub was a bonus. Thank you.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Hillside Hideaway in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
