The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The host was very informative and quick on communication. It was a very peaceful locationJust what we were looking for
Super relaxing and fun to stay in a historic log cabin! Property is beautiful and close to the park and downtown Luray. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Rustic cabin on a beautiful piece of property. If you like charm and character this is the place for you. The front porch and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and miscellaneous appliances. Everything was neat and tidy when we checked in. It’s a short and easy drive into Luray for dining and shopping. All communications with the host were answered promptly. We would definitely book this place again.
The owners are amazing and very attentive. They took care of us and were quick to respond to any communication. The property very enjoyable and had plenty of opertinities to explore and enjoy.
Everything was wonderful. A family with two young children enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We took the canoe out for a ride at first sight, we roasted marshmallows on the fire pit, we explored the local caverns, and had an eat in pizza dinner at Dominicos Italian Restaurant.
My husband and I celebrated a milestone anniversary at the Bass Reeves cabin for 3 nights last week. The cabin was very comfortable to stay in and the property was beautiful.
Cabin was in a great location, convenient to everything to do in and around Luray. Overall we had a great stay, though the furniture could use some updating to enhance comfort.

Thanks for your feedback, Chase! We took your suggestion and bought a few major pieces of brand new furniture.
This is a lovely cabin/house - very close to the river! Kayaks and tubes are provided. It is also not far from Luray - so restaurants, bakeries and delis are a convenient distance. We enjoyed being close to Skyline Drive as well.
Booked a cabin and found out there’s 3 different cabins. We were at (BR) Bass Reeves which is the smaller cabin of the 3. Huge bedroom and fully stocked kitchen. Loved that kcups were provided. Bedroom was cozy and the bed was excellent. The light switches are kinda tricky but there’s a big dining table. The chairs are okay. The living room couches are cozy. Love that one pulls out easily. There’s plenty of old games and dvds in the center console. The window blinds work but need to be updated. Loved that there was an electric piano. The outdoor seating is good but needs a deep clean. Outdoor fire pit was nice. The river was great. Soft current. Great for kids. There’s solo kayaks and some canoes w paddles and life jackets. We didn’t swim. The guardian cat, pumpkin scared off a fox one evening - so cool. Pumpkin is great. We didn’t see any pigs or ducks. Check out process requires that you wash all the dishes, dry them, and put them back.

Thanks for the tip on the outdoor furniture. We just got it all power washed. We do have black out curtains in case folks want to use those instead of the blinds. The pigs, ducks, and honeybees can be seen if you walk the trail. Sorry you missed them!
Cozy, quiet and full of amenities! The real wood fireplaces in both the living room and bedroom really set this place apart! We saw a bald eagle and about 20 deer during our stay as well (Feb 2024). Jennifer is a top-notch host that responds timely but also respected privacy. We will book again!
We enjoyed our stay at the Bass Reeves Cabin. It was a perfect location for visiting Shenandoah National Park. The weather wasn’t great during our stay so we did not get to use the water toys on the river. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Cell phone service was not great (we have Verizon) and the internet was spotty, but everything else was great. The host was wonderful and prompt on communication and very accommodating.
My husband and I were looking for a lowkey spring break getaway with our boys ages 4 & 7. Riverfront Cabins was the perfect spot. The owners sent a welcome email once we booked which included details about our stay and a house manual that answered any lingering questions. We stayed in the Bass Reeves cabin which was cozy and perfect for our family of 4. The one bedroom is large so we put an air mattress in the room for our boys who like to stay close when in new places but a pullout sofa was available. Kitchen had everything we needed. River was right on property but with a large green space for littles to run without fear of them getting too close to the water. We didn’t get a chance to use the water equipment available to guests but it was fully stocked. We did fish and my 7 year old caught his first fish! We look forward to visiting again. If you are looking for a getaway from tv/electronics (wifi and tv available but spotty at times) and a chance to slowdown to enjoy the beauty of nature this would be a the place to go.
We had a great time at the cabin. The proximity to the river and available kayaks was great. We loved being greeted by Pumpkin the cat outside our cabin. It was also a lot of fun to see the animals on the farm. The trail on the property was a nice touch too. Our favorite part was having a fire outside and stargazing while listening to the bugs. Never experienced anything like it!
The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We spent most of our time at the river, fishing and floating. We really enjoyed how relaxing and peaceful the property was! Jennifer and Ian were great hosts!
Great place to relax away from the park yet close enough to enjoy fishing, kayaking, and being in nature. The cabin was rustic yet had all the conveniences. We'll stocked kitchen and farm fresh eggs if desired. The hosts were amazing. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
We loved the experience. Location of property was wonderful. The communication great. The ability to unplug from society and just chill was much needed. Thanks
This place is so great. We eloped in Shenandoah and stayed here for our mini-honeymoon. We loved the cabin, the fireplaces, the location, the water toys, and the owner’s prompt communication. They even had eggs and firewood available for purchase.
