The house was excellent. We were able to walk into town, and it is a short drive to the mountain. You can even walk to the mountain shuttle in town. The house was perfect for me and my adult children. The house was very comfortable. We were able to use both showers with plenty of hot water at the same time giving us extra time after a day of skiing!
Our family had an unforgettable time staying in this lovely house during our trip to Lake Placid. The home provided the perfect balance of comfort, peace, and convenience. It was ideally located; just a short drive to most of the hiking trails and Olympic venues, and only a 5-minute walk to the heart of town. The house itself had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The amenities were top-notch, and we loved how peaceful the setting was, making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. Whether we were cooking meals together, relaxing by the fireplace, or enjoying the surrounding nature, this home was a fantastic place to unwind. We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Lake Placid. It truly made our vacation even more special!
What an amazing property. Perfect place for family getaway. short walk into town or to the marina to rent boats. walked around Mirror Lake every morning right from the house with a stop in town for coffee/breakfast. would definitely stay here again.
We loved Casa Cayuga. The location is perfect - quiet but an easy, short walk to Main Street. If the house was available for our next trip to Lake Placid I would definitely book Casa Cayuga.
Casa Cayuga was exactly what we were looking for… quiet, close to Main St, pet friendly and beautiful! As a frequent visitor to Lake Placid, I would highly recommend.
This house is perfect for a weekend away, or longer. Great location close to town and nice quiet area. Kitchen is very well equipped and big enough for several chefs to be in there at once. We're looking at returning in the fall.
The property was excellent. We planned an extended family vacation and this house really fit the bill. Enough rooms and beds for everyone and a great open floor plan for the kitchen/dining/family area. We used the fire pit for s’mores and the grill for burgers, and the stove and oven. Such a great setup we didn’t even need to eat out (which is a task with 9 people). Even better is the location, just a short walk to mirror lake and town. We really only used our car for the grocery store and adventures. By far everyone’s favorite vaca activity was paddle boarding. We highly recommend the outfit close to the public beach. There is an excellent grass area to launch from and just enjoy. We had a blast!
Our 9th trip to Lake Placid with friends for the Empire State Winter Games. Just as described, very well equipped and clean. Walking distance to town was a perfect location. Would definitely stay again. Brian C.
Beautiful chalet. The photos do not do it justice 👍
We had a wonderful time. The space was perfect for our family. Lots of room for everyone including our dogs. We can’t thank the owners enough for allowing us to bring our 12yr old retriever.
A beautiful spot!

Beautiful home!!
We stayed at this home for a weekend and it was beautiful! It was very close to the town that we could walk everywhere. The home had a bedroom on the main floor, games and a football table. Great home for all ages! The property owner was great to work with also. We will definitely be going back and staying at Casa Cayuga!

I am thrilled that you enjoyed the home and Lake Placid.
Our family spent the week at this beautiful home. It was perfect for our large family. The open concept allowed us to spend quality time together, and it is within walking distance of downtown Lake Placid, a lovely town to explore. There were many homes to choose from in the area, but I am so happy that we chose to stay here! Highly recommend!!!
This house is beautiful & it by far surpassed our expectations. It is equipped with everything you need and is perfect for families wanting to spend some quality time in lake placid. We were a group of 7 and everyone couldn’t stop saying how perfect this home was for our trip. The house was also so close to everything and still very quiet. We seriously can’t wait to rent again! Ty for such a memorable stay!

Our home is more than a vacation rental – it is our family’s home- away- from- home and we take great pride in the space. We choose to rent our home in between our own visits and consider each renter our personal guest!
Why they chose this property
My parents selected the property. My parents bought a new 1964 Buick LaSable Convertible and took it for a ride in the Adirondacks. At breakfast another diner heard them talking about the potential of Lake Placid as the site for a second home. That man was Merrill Thomas, whose realty business is still located on Main Street. The three of them jumped in the convertible to see the property. They fell in love with its location, a hop, skip, and a jump from town, yet away from the madding crowd. They wrote the check that day.
The property once belonged to the Stevens House Hotel. The Stevens House, a fancy hotel on Stevens Road. It had been a destination for travelers from all over the world. The property went right down to Lake Placid. Before it was sold, it had been the golf course for the resort, and in the winter a rope tow provided beginner skies a chance to practice their turns.
What makes this property unique
It is located in a secluded wooded area, yet very near town. Casa Cayuga is on an isthmus between Lake Placid and Mirror Lake. From Casa Cayuga you can walk to both Mirror Lake to the east, which the town is located on, and Lake Placid to the west, where you can rent boats to tour the lake.
In 1973, as a family project, we built the house ourselves. In 2009 we gutted the original house down to the studs, even pulling out plumbing and electric and began a rebuild. This time I wrote the checks rather than swing the hammer!
