Luxury home inside Yosemite gates and only minutes from valley floor
Carved plaques with antlers from Austria decorate the high walls and antlered chandeliers hang from the vaulted ceilings. The spacious Yosemite Copper Bear Lodge has cathedral-like windows for views of the forest and distant mountains. The interior space has plenty of comfortable lounge areas in plush leather furniture facing large picture windows. Small mountain creeks babble and meander by the outside decks. Rocking chairs line the deck for resting your feet and enjoying a serene evening after a long day of hiking in the high country or leisurely wandering around the valley floor. The deck also has a 4-burner Blackstone griddle for enjoying outdoor cooking. The great room has a large stone fireplace. A 42-inch flat screen television and blu-ray are available for watching a movie. The dream kitchen is fully equipped for creating your favorite meals. The dining table can seat approximately ten. The open floor plan and large dining table are ideal for spending quality family time. Phone for unlimited local calls. The decor is warm and inviting, and really encourages communal gathering. The home is surrounded by dogwoods, wild azaleas, maples, large white firs, pine, and cedar. The home has two queen beds, two twin beds, and two bunk beds (one with trundle). There is a pool table, mini arcade, game table, and board games in the loft. The loft has leather high-back chairs for reading. There are trails close to the house for hiking. In case there is a power outage in the Park, the house now has an emergency generator that will automatically start to provide power for you and your family. The lodge is perfectly situated within the park gates in a quiet cul-de-sac and away from the park crowds. From the house, you can reach the valley or Glacier Point or Mariposa Grove in about 25 - 30 minutes. You will love returning at the end of a day of hiking or other outdoor activity to this beautiful property which is tucked away inside the Park. .

This is by far the best stocked rental I've ever been in. It was also very clean and comfortable. The proximity to everything in Yosemite can't be beat!
The home is amazing and Steve was an incredibly attentive host. The house has everything you need and more, and is perfectly located to explore Yosemite Valley. Our kids have already asked to come back again!
A great location from which to explore many Yosemite wonders. Accommodations were perfect for ourselves and three adult couples. Host provided many welcome amenities.
Everything was perfect. This house had everything you could imagine and more. It was clean and had any and every amenity you could think of. It was beautiful and the property was beautiful. We all enjoyed staying here. Also an excellent location for the park.
We had a wonderful time at the Copper Bear Lodge! The house is amazing. It was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need. They had a wonderful gift basket awaiting us too! We loved hanging on the porch and got to see a momma bear and her two cubs in the backyard. The house is centrally located which helped so much with driving inside the park. There’s so much to see and do in Yosemite but we also just loved coming back to the house and playing cards and relaxing. Loved every minute!
House is welcoming, well equipped, comfortable and most of all convenient to Yosemite. Great base for exploring Yosemite and comfortable to come home to after long hikes. Host responsive, flexible and provided clear instructions and guidance. Especially appreciated the Yosemite themed video collection and the many Yosemite recommendations/guides located in the house. Would certainly stay again.
My two brothers, one older & one younger, our brother in law and I spent five days tackling day hikes all over the park. In all we racked up 35 miles and 8,000 feet of elevation. Not bad for the Medicare Crew! The house was perfect for our needs. So comfortable, so well-appointed. We could not have asked for better accommodations!
If you do stay here, you will find that this place is the king of Yosemite West. There's nothing that compares near by. It's quiet, warm, inviting, and they've thought of everything. From boot dryers to an expertly stocked kitchen, this home didn't disappoint at all. It's a great starting point everyday for venturing into the park and a more than comfortable return home at the end of the day. If you're on the fence about whether it's worth it or not, it is, we had an amazing time here.
My husband and I and our three adult children loved our five-day stay at Copper Bear Lodge. We came to visit Yosemite NP, but we all wished we could have spent several more days at Steve's amazing home. We appreciated the handwritten welcome card, thoughtful gift baskets, and delicious snack basket. Steve is a wonderful host and very responsive, providing detailed suggestions on hikes, trails, waterfalls, and other must-see sights, where to purchase groceries (Oakhurst), and dining options in Yosemite Valley. The home is lovely, with plenty of space to spread out, and every room was spotless. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms well-appointed. The kitchen was spacious and wonderfully stocked. We enjoyed coffee and cooking breakfast each morning, grilled dinners in the evening, and shared daily highlights and photos around the large dining table. We highly recommend Copper Bear Lodge, not only as an ideal and convenient base for exploring Yosemite, but to immerse in the stunning beauty of this special place.
The home was fabulous and centrally located within Yosemite National Park. The host left us a fabulous welcome basket of goodies. The lock on door was easy to use. It was truly a trophy home that we were grateful to stay in.
The house is absolutely spectacular - they've thought of every little detail, down to the delightful gift baskets they left - including a birthday gift for my mom, whose birthday we were celebrating! The location is perfect, and we wished we had more time to just hang out at the house, it was so lovely.
We enjoyed our stay at Copper Bear Lodge. It was the perfect “base camp” for our first trip to Yosemite NP. All the small touches were much appreciated. Beautiful home.
Such a lovely home and an amazing location! Our group was comfortable and were able to make it into the valley before the crowds. We hope to stay again some time!
The property was awesome. It was clean and well stocked. The host was extremely responsive and offered many useful tips regarding the area. I would definitely stay there again.
The Copper Bear Lodge is a perfect location to explore Yosemite. Located central to everything, the home was well appointed with everything you’d need for your stay. Our party of eight was comfortable throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property during your stay in Yosemite.
The house is immaculately cared for and obviously loved. The kitchen was extraordinarily well stocked with everything you might need. This is the ideal place to relax and socialize. Due to its close proximity to the valley floor we were able to do several early morning hikes and watch the sun come up. Quite simply if you are planning a trip to yosemite this is the perfect place.
If you have decided to visit Yosemite, look no further for a place to stay! This is one of the most beautiful, pristine and stunning homes that my family has ever stayed in and sits perfectly accessable to the majestic Yosemite National Park. The home was fully stocked not missing any details, beyond clean and was an pleasurable experience working with the owner and the caretaker to make our trip nothing short of perfect. We will be back!
If you're planning a visit to Yosemite, you can't do any better than this property. The house is beautiful. It was well stocked with all sorts of food and toiletry essentials, linens, towels, games, puzzles, etc. There is a well appointed kitchen, numerous beds (two sets of bunk beds, two twin beds, and what seemed to be two double beds), a gas fireplace, and a full size washer and dryer. The valley floor is less than 30 minutes away. We loved exploring the park by day and coming home to cook and enjoy the house at night. Our mixed group (adults, kids, and seniors) were delighted and would love to visit again.
We traveled from Seattle and met some family from Minnesota at this beautiful home. Well appointed and well stocked with everything you might need (and more). Pool table was a hit with the kids (and adults). Communication with property owner was prompt and informative. Home is ~30 minutes to Yosemite Valley, so very convenient yet tranquil, private location.
Be mindful of LOTS of stairs to get to front door. Not a problem for our family, but if you have accessibility issues or difficulty with stairs, you may want to look elsewhere.
Overall, a beautiful, comfortable, and well situated property.
Beautiful house, tons of space with a big open design great for family gatherings/reunions. Kitchen was immaculately labeled and had everything we needed and more. Spice rack, every pot and pan and piece of plateware imaginable, and generous welcome gifts of snacks of bath products.
Whip fast wifi and fun collection of DVDs made our stay modern and nostalgic. Perfect distance from the park, making travel and traffic a breeze (we went in the late October).
Host communicated easily and openly, accommodating an earlier check in and even advising tire chains based on the weather forecast-- a proactive tip even though the snow blew over and we didn't need them. Nonetheless, appreciated it. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We had lovely time at this beautiful home! This is our second stay, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first visit. We stayed during the February winter blizzard 2023, and there was 5+ feet of snow. Most of the park was completely shut down, but we were nice and cozy in this house. The generator came in handy during this storm and the house was well stocked with plenty of games, movies, billiards and the arcade to keep our kids busy. The kitchen is also very well stocked and the entire house is clean and beautiful. The caretaker, Michael was very helpful with road conditions and the owner, Steve was very responsive. Thanks for a lovely visit! We will be back next year!
We really enjoyed our stay for Thanksgiving week. The home was spacious, clean and provided the perfect "cabin" experience at Yosemite. But "cabin" would be understating this unique property. It has all the modern amenities you could ask for...great kitchen and family room, cool game room with arcade and pool table with ample space for everyone to spread out. The location was perfect for us to do our day trips into the Yosemite Valley for dinners, hiking and exploring. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a few thoughtful and awesome care packages with Thanksgiving as the theme. It didn't stop there as there were spa care packages in the bathrooms. The owners really thought of everything! There was an abundance of everything you could ask for and perfectly organized. I would highly recommend this gem of a property for its location and the perfect mountain home experience. Cheers!
