The apartment was spacious for our family of four. Located in central Tavira within short distance to the Roman Bridge. Convenient parking was always available in front of the apartment. Lovely stay!

Great stay!

The apartment was excellent in every way. Very comfortable and the location can't be beat. Lots of restaurants, bars and pubs just a short walk away. People very friendly! Free parking on the street right in front of the apartment, really convenient! We will stay there again during a future trip!

We had a great time in Tavira. The apartment was perfect for us and in a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Everything we needed was in easy walking distance. We especially liked that we could park for free right in front of the apartment!!

Lovely oasis in Tavira

The house was just what we wanted. We loved being so close to everyhing in town and really being part of the community. The space outside was our favorite but the master bedroom was perfect with high ceilings great linen and beautiful sunlight everyday! The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed a family meal in the downstairs courtyatd.

Easter stay

Well modernised property. Very comfortable beds. Not for anyone with mobility issues or young children as stairs to upstairs bedrooms and upper terrace very difficult to negotiate. Also on toilet on ground floor.

Tavira stay

This war our first trip to Portugal.We had a great time staying in Tavira. The location of this property was amazing. We were within walking distance to great restaurants and bakeries.our only concern was that the 2nd an 3 rd bedroom are common areas no separation. There wasn’t a grill available at the property although it was listed at the time of our rental agreement.

Brilliant House in Tavira

House is as described, spacious, clean and homely, it was perfect for us. Had everything that we needed to make our stay a memorable one. Nestled amongst the cobbled streets, Casa Marisol was located in an excellent place to explore the beautiful and charming town of Tavira. The beach is fabulous and can be reached by catching a boat from the waterfront, which is a few minutes walk from the house. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. Would definitely recommend to family & friends!

Fabulous house in a great location

The house was the perfect place to stay for our first visit to Tavira. It was beautifully decorated and had everything you could need for a relaxing break. We enjoyed using the terraces, particularly the one at the end, which was the perfect place to chill out at the end of the day. Vicky was a great host, meeting us on arrival and providing loads of information about Tavira (where to go, where to eat). The goodies in the fridge were also much appreciated. We fell in love with Tavira and would definitely stay in Casa Marisol when we next return!

The townhouse was gorgeous! The kitchen had everything you need to whip up some snacks or a meal. Beds were very comfortable. The stairs to the upper bedroom are steep. We knew that going in so we were careful.Others complained about the outdoor shower, but I loved it. I had a broken shoulder and showering was tricky. It didn't matter if I got the ourside of the shower wet.Our host responded quickly when we had questions. And provided a lot of information about the town. I'd say she was the most gracious host we've had yet.The terraces are so lovely and we spent a good deal of time enjoying them all.If ever back in Tavira this is where we will stay!

Very comfortable stay

Well planned, spotlessly clean and very well equipped property in a quiet street with lovely old tiled houses. Vicky the property owner was very helpful and really organised with suggestions on what to see and she responds very quickly. Tavira is beautiful and picturesque and a great place for a relaxed stay. The house is only a few minutes walk from the centre, restaurants and the ferry to get to the beach so very convenient. Has a nice terrace to sit and enjoy a meal in the sun. It is a townhouse (2 bedrooms upstairs and bathroom, kitchen and another bedroom downstairs) and the space is used really well- very deceptive from the outside! The stairs to get to the two bedrooms on the 1st floor are quite steep and jutting so not ideal if there are very young children about - it was not a problem for us however. A great stay and would highly recommend both Tavira and Casa Mirasol!

What a gem!

We loved our month long stay at this cozy, charming and tastefully done home right in the heart of Tavira. Unless you want to visit other places, no need at all for a car as you can walk to everything (including the next towns!) but if you have a car, we always found easy parking right out front. So many fantastic restaurants and beautiful sights just outside the front door. We loved the great outdoor patio spaces in this home and it was also very quiet. Do keep in mind that there is no bathroom upstairs with the primary bedroom, but we adjusted quickly and the extra little outdoor “powder room” was perfect when enjoying the patios. Our host Vicky was such a pleasure and super on top of any question. And the sweet Portuguese neighbors on both sides were extra special and made us feel right at home.

Enchanting house with bags of personality

Spent a week at this enchanting house with bags of personality. Excellent booking process, with quick response from owner patiently answering all of our questions. As we had an early flight, the host took the time to ensure that the property was prepared and ready for our arrival, and the early check in was a bonus, as was the warm welcome. Everything worked as it should, WiFi , English t.v Channels, and the heating was a welcome addition for the cooler nights. The house had everything that we could possibly need, even beach towels. The kitchen was well equipped, but we ate out at many of the great restaurants close by. Recommendations were spot on!  We were fortunate enough to get a couple of days use of the beautiful relaxing terraces and the space suited us perfectly both inside and out (mixed group of 5 adults). Would highly recommend Casa Marisol to family and friends. Thank you for an incredible stay.

LOVE THE HOUSE

Knowing Tavira well and having visited many times in the past, this stay was one of our most memorable visits. The house was in a great location and was just minutes easy walking distance to all attractions. The house was lovely and clean, something that we always look for, furnished beautifully, well maintained and very well equipped, a real home from home. We especially enjoyed the open spaces and terraces which the property has to offer and which we have never had in a house of this location before. We enjoyed many a good BBQ and made the most of the sunshine which seemed to shine on at least one of the terraces all day. Although the property has a great central location, we were never disturbed with noise, having lovely sleepless nights in the comfortable beds. The owner provided a good, helpful and efficient service right from the first email enquiry and the contact was also vey friendly, willing and helpful with any questions that we had. We had a most enjoyable stay and the property was all that we expected from the description and more!! Would have no problem at all recommending the property to friends and family. Thank you for some great memories. Look forward to return visit in the future.

Tavira townhouse stay mid March

The location is very good, within walking distance to everything. The house is quaint but was a little disappointing in the beginning. We picked this house because it had 3 bedrooms and 2 washrooms as we were 3 friends traveling together. No where in the description does it say that one of the washrooms with shower is outside and in March with below 10c at night, this room was not really usable. It also should be noted that yes there are 3 bedrooms, however, the main floor accessible one has no window, the other two are up a very tight steep staircase. The 2nd bedroom is a lovely bright room but the 3rd bedroom has only a 12 inch skylight that doesn’t open and in order to access it you go through the 2nd bedroom. For a family with kids that would be fine. But for individuals it’s not ideal. And for anyone with knee problems this house has a lot of steep and narrow stairs which wasn’t an issue for us and adds to the quaintness. It has lovely outdoor sitting areas. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Tavira but would not stay here again.

Apologies for any misunderstanding that you may have read into from the description, we have now amended the additional bathroom to read “outdoors” instead of “serving the outdoor terraces” hoping that this will make things clearer for future guests. We have also added a picture of the stairs to the first floor, in order that our guests may see for themselves that the house is located over two floors. The rest is as described and pictured. However, were very surprised to receive our very first ever 3 star rating. Our usual 5 stars are a testimony to the quality of accommodation that we offer and neither myself nor my property manager were made aware of any issues. We were under the impression that you had an enjoyable stay, making the most of the exceptional hospitality and local recommendations that was offered to you, after your very long flight & drive down. We hope that this has not affected your first stay in Portugal, as Tavira really is a beautiful place, and hope that your next venture in Olhao meets all your expectations.

Tavira ist eine gute Mischung für Urlaub mit Strand und Stadt. Insgesamt war es nicht so einfach wie erhofft, in der Altstadt wirklich gutes Essen zu bekommen. Zudem sind die Preise doch recht hoch im Vergleich zur Westküste Portugals.

Schönes Haus mit Nachteilen

Positiv: Gute Lage, schön restauriert, geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Dusche und Klimaanlage funktionieren gut. Negativ: Ziemlich dunkel: 2 Schlafzimmer ohne Fenster, Küche zwar mit Tür zum Innenhof, aber auch ohne Fenster. Das zweite Badezimmer ist eine mit Duschvorhang abgetrennte Nische im Innenhof. Täglich von morgens bis abends Baulärm, da ein Haus in direkter Nachbarschaft derzeit entkernt wird. Der Krach hat unseren Aufenthalt erheblich beeinträchtigt, daher nur 2 Sterne.

Jolie maison traditionnelle joliment rénovée et décorée. Elle se situe près de nombreux services (ferry,restaurants, supermarché...).Quartier calme. La maison est très bien équipée. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à Tavira.

We are a Portuguese husband and English wife team who frequently visited Portugal for holidays. We chose Tavira to settle and raise our family, as not only was it my husbands birth place, but also one of the most beautiful and family orientated places we had ever visited. The children settled and adjusted to life in Portugal immediately and have all been educated locally. My husband is in construction and I am forever finding him little jobs to do. Our Tavira house project started out as one of these little jobs..

Why they chose this property

We immediately fell in love with the house. It was in a bad state of repair, but had such great potential and such a unique feel to it. Something that we couldn’t let slip by was the chance to own a part our family culture and heritage and the great opportunity to conserve this for future generations. “Just a lick of paint” is the phrase I remember using to convince my husband to buy. In reality we replaced everything, all that remained was the original outer thick clay and stone walls, designed to keep the property cool in summer and warm in winter, and it’s amazing historical location which can never be taken away. The renovation was a joint family effort and has been described by our family and friends as a true labour of love..

What makes this property unique

We consider ourselves to be very priviliged to own a part of the Historical Old Town, the perfect central location is an asset that can never be taken away from the house. During renovation we made the decision not to destroy this unique property by converting it into separate apartments as many do, but to keep the original size and structure with it’s unique outdoor spaces, capturing sun & shade all day long..Perfect for accommodating family get together’s and friendly reunions. Renovated to a high standard, constantly maintained and updated with all modern living conditions, yet retaining many original features..charming, beautiful and comfortable. We used locally sourced traditional materials like the handmade clay floor tiles and high wooden ceilings. It is a true representation of the unique atmosphere that Tavira still retains. By keeping it’s unique charm we are hopefully capturing the essence of Tavira and its lovely warm & welcoming locals and it is this, along with it’s great central location, large proportions and amazing outdoor spaces, friendly locals yet lovely and quiet..that makes our home in Tavira a very special place to stay
