Pine Cottage is one of 4 adjoining self catering holiday lets in Eryri/Snowdonia National Park, near Barmouth and Dolgellau, North Wales overlooking the beautiful Mawddach Estuary.
Pine Cottage has exceptional views, a large terrace and sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms.
Our location has been featured on BBC Country file and Julia Bradbury's Railway Walks show. Set in 45 acres of land, the adjacent properties share the same massive Welsh slate roof of this former Victorian slate cutting shed. Each house has different features and outlooks so please check the photo captions and descriptions or contact us to check which would best suit you. The four properties adjoin our award-winning small camping and glamping site.
You can explore Graig Wen's beautiful woods and meadows with footpaths direct from the site. With the spectacular (and family friendly) Mawddach cycle trail at the bottom of our track, and Coed y Brenin mountain biking centre you'll probably want to bring your bike. Huge, empty sandy beaches within 5 minutes drive and Harlech Castle, Portmeirion, Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon within 45 minutes. Nearby there's horse riding on the beach, fishing, golf, and wonderful wildlife.

About the host
Hosted by Sarah Heyworth

Sarah and John live at Graig Wen with their 2 friendly dogs. We also run the small camp site so are around if you need us. We left Brighton 17 years ago in a camper van and fell in love with this special part of Snowdonia National Park. Having lived in the city for many years, it's such a privilege to be able to walk through our fields to the Mawddach Estuary or bike along the trail to the shops.

What makes this property unique
Graig Wen is a fantastic location for walkers, whether you fancy a stroll along the flat Mawddach Trail, or more strenuous climbs around the hills and mountains. Footpaths lead directly from the site and it's a brilliant place to bring your bike or dog. The views from the site itself are beautiful and there are communal areas for guests to take in the panorama of mountains and estuary. Some of the properties share this view - others overlook woodland across the road. The site is a paradise for bird-spotters and photographers without having to leave the gates. Our adjoining small camp site, as featured in the Cool Camping Guides, offers some great opportunities for family den-building, toasting marshmallows around a camp fire and meeting new friends. Sarah and John, the owners, live on site so are around to help with suggestions for you to get the most of your holiday.
