About this property
NEW, Quiet rural location, large enclosed garden, log burner, access to Kendal
This recently restored cottage (2018), has a comfy lounge with log burning stove (first load of fule provided in Winter months only), a central farmhouse style kitchen, complemented by a large enclosed rear garden. The property can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 separate bedrooms, idea for families or small mixed groups of friends. No dogs/pets.
It is set amongst a small collection of converted farm buildings ( non working farm) and benefits from a quiet room rural location, whilst being less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Kendal, with its numerous shops, pubs and restaurants. Visit the Brewery Arts Centre one of the leading arts centres in the UK, presenting an all year round program of exciting and diverse, top quality events, performances and exhibitions in all art forms.
The property is surrounded by picturesque countryside making for a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. There are beautiful circular footpath walks from the front door with excellent panoramic views, whilst for the more energetic the challenge of the Lake District with its many wonderful attractions are within a short drive including the Beatrice Potter exhibition aquarium of the lakes and cruises on Lake Windermere. Leaflets are provided in the property giving details of over 40 activities in the area. A pub with restaurant is situated at the end of the road within easy walking distance ( approx. half a mile) should visitors wish to avoid cooking.
Facilities include a kitchenette and large dinning room with full table seating for 6 (also a high chair). The amenities spread between these 2 rooms consist of a large family sized air fryer (bake/fry/reheat options), microwave, toaster, kettle, hobs, fridge, freezer, sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. The open plan lounge area has a TV with free Wi and a selection of DVDs.
There is parking for up to 3 vehicles in front of the property. The exposed stone and glass feature stairway lead up to the bedrooms, master super kingsized bedroom with ensuite, double bedroom with shared bathroom and bunk bedroom (2 adult sized beds measuring 2 metres x 0.9 metres - manufacturer recommends children over 6 years old) with shared bathroom with shower - (bath not in use). All bed linen and towels are provided.
The property is set in a quiet rural location and guests are expected to respect this. The host lives next door in the farmhouse. No outside noise after 10pm. No pets or parties. No lighting of candles due to new holiday property fire regulations.
