Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included.. Spacious enclosed lawned garden, garden furniture and BBQ. Private parking for 2 cars. DIY horse livery. No smoking.. Paddock Cottage is a charming and attractive former farm workers cottage with a cosy open fire. Enjoying splendid views and situated on a mixed working farm, with cows, calves, horses and three pet pigs called Prudence, Portia and Primrose, about 2 miles north of the historic market town of Alnwick. Both holiday cottages are furnished and equipped to provide a comfortable style of accommodation in a quiet location, reached by a country lane which passes through the farm. This is a superb area in which to base your holiday as the surrounding countryside is wonderful, and the beautiful coastline with its many sandy beaches is just a short drive away. A good range of castles, stately homes, and other fascinating attractions can also be found within very easy reach. Golf and horse riding close by. Shops and pubs 2 miles.

Paddock Cottage, Cheviot View (ref 13062) and Snowshill (ref UK31436) can be booked together to accommodate up to 15 guests.

Great base to discover Northumberland

The cottage was lovely and cosy despite some quite wild and windy weather during our recent stay. Good central heating and the option to use the open fire to top this up or just to enhance the cosy atmosphere. Great communication with the hosts and a lovely chocolate cake to welcome us. Ideal location to explore Northumberland.

The only problem was that there wasn’t much space to put food as the kitchen was so well equipped, it would have been good to have 2 toilets but that’s not something that can be changed, a real blessing to have all firewood and coal provided and such a good fire , and we’ll be back Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A pleasant place to stay, out in the countryside but within easy distance of Alnwick.

A pleasant place to stay, out in the countryside but within easy distance of Alnwick. Good views, and a generous garden area (not that we sat out in it in November). The house is in a busy farm, but we were not disturbed. It was warm and comfortable. The flowers and chocolate cake were appreciated, and it is dangerously convenient to be in the midst of a pudding-making establishment! Equipment was up to standard, though we'd have liked some tumblers in the kitchen, more appropriately-shaped for the local Alnwick rum and Hotspur gin and tonic! It should be made clear on the website that the cottage is not detached; it didn't affect us on this occasion, but at other times, and with other neighbours, it might have done.

Our eighth visit to Paddock Cottage and as always we enjoyed this cosy warm cottage and the lovely fresh flowers and delicious chocolate cake. The owners are friendly and helpful but never intrusive. The garden is enclosed and great for dogs. The farm itself is in a lovely spot with views looking out to the Cheviots. Alnwick is just a couple of miles away and the beaches can all be reached in half an hour or less. All in all a great place to stay and we will be back there next year.
