This detached boathouse is in a superb, secluded position over the water on the shore of Lake Windermere.. 41 steps to entrance.

Please note: The property has an exposed jetty leading to a lake. Children must be supervised at all times.. Spout Crag Boathouse is one of three boat houses situated in a superb, secluded position sitting over the water on the shores of Lake Windermere. Not only do they provide an idyllic romantic getaway and excellent walking base but they also provide the ultimate holiday location for enjoying sailing or water sports on Windermere with direct access to the lake, small pier and boat mooring facilities with each property (storage under the boathouse 8m x 2.5m) with a boardwalk at the side. Spout Crag Boathouse is tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout, boasting a light and airy living room opening on to a large balcony overlooking the lake and surrounding fells.
A host of Lakeland attractions can be found nearby, including many of Wordsworth’s inspirational locations - his home, Dove Cottage, is open to the public all year. Grizedale Forest, with its Go Ape high wire adventure course, Grasmere and Ambleside are all close by. Visit Hilltop Farm near Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her stories, or take a trip to Hawkshead where there is a gallery dedicated to her original drawings and illustrations. Take a trip across Lake Windermere on the leisurely steamer, which connects with the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway. Sizergh Castle, Holker Hall and Levens Hall all within easy reach. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park at Dalton is a wonderful day out for all the family, as is the Aquarium of the Lakes at Lakeside and Muncaster Castle with its extensive gardens. Excellent walks locally with stunning views, as well as cycling and pony-trekking. Beach 16½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
There is a potential for minor noise disturbance until 21st March 2024, due to a nearby property having building work carried out.
Please note: There is currently ongoing disturbance due to property's on either side having building work carried out, including construction and demolition on either side. This is expected to end at the end of Janaury 2026.
