About this property

Studio style self contained room, steps to the beach.

Studio self contained room, with private bathroom / laundry. Easy 200 metre walk through a bush track to the sandy pristine waters of Callala Bay.

Room fits 2 adults sharing a double bed. Self contained granny flat with a separate laundry/shower and toilet. The laundry / toilet area is clean and tidy, however has a slight 90's retro theme. The whole space has private access but shares a wall with the main home.

The main house is a private holiday home and often vacant.

Space has a flat screen TV, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster. Double bed in room. Linen, towels and pillows supplied.

Your room will be stocked with tea, coffee, milk. Free wifi also provided.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor space in the rear yard, which has plenty of tables and chairs, sunbeds and more to relax on.

Note: the room is set up as per the photos. There is no table and chairs inside the room but plenty of areas to sit in the backyard and on the front balcony.

Dogs welcome, please be aware i have 2 pugs that are very social and use the backyard as well. A $75 one off fee applies to all bookings with a dog. 2 dogs are fine as long as there small.

if you wish to do a spot of fishing, or use a Inflatable kayak just give me a few weeks notice and I can have them available for you to use for free during your stay.

It was clean, quiet and secure. Was a bit alarmed by the power cords all stacked up on each other. The bbq pilot would not light - luckily we had matches. Was fine but just needs a little more attention to detail. Things like outdoor furniture and cutlery very old and tatty, maybe picked up from local tip shop.

The place has easy access to the beach good for quiet getaway but it can feel a bit damp in the place maybe because during our stay been raining a lot. But the owner is nice and kind.

We wanted to visit the place I lived in 50 years ago and it was the perfect spot to reconnect with old friends. The beach and strolls on it was wonderful. Host was very helpful and friendly

Great getaway

Nice and clean, cute pugs and quiet little neighbourhood. The only thing I would note is that it does take about half an hour to get to some more busy areas of Jervis Bay since the only possible highway takes you on a detour around the national park to get to Huskisson. Otherwise, Callala Bay is lovely.

Quiet and relaxing getaway

We had a very relaxing stay at Rory's place. The room was surprisingly spacious and the hosts had left us some unexpected treats which we appreciated. We brought along our dog and he was able to interact with the hosts' 2 pugs who were very friendly and playful. The place is a very short work to the beach and a quick drive to the shops which made it very convenient.

We had a restful time here and enjoyed going for walks and resting in the yard. Our dog was also welcome. The microwave was a little hard to reach and a small table would have been useful. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would go again.

Simple but convenient

Simple room with fridge and microwave. Was clean and just minutes to the beach. Can be some minor noise as owners live right on other side of the wall but very limited. Owners are friendly and helpful. Great if you have a pet as access to the fenced backyard was offered.

Basic but comfortable accommodation

If you are seeking budget, no frills accommodation, then this will suit. The sliding door leads to the laundry which contains the shower and toilet,washing machine and laundry sink. The bed was comfortable,bread,milk cereal etc was supplied. There was ample books and DVDs for the rainy days. A small fold up table would have been handy for the times where it was too rainy to eat on the outside table and chairs

Not worth the money

This was a little misleading as I thought this studio was like a granny flat type of situation but it was attached to the front house and just segregated a little. You could hear the water pipes all night and

Thanks for the feedback Geraldine. A studio / granny flat is a self contained living space with private access as the the listing clearly states. It has its own entry and exit separate to the rest of the house. However there is a shared wall between the main home and studio. As per the photos online that explain and show this clearly. You sent me 7 emails asking for help and advice within 12 hours of checking in. However you failed to mention any issues at all during those emails. You then send me feedback post stay in order to get a discount on your rates. This is not a 5 star hotel. We have had 45 guests stay here and not 1 has had a problem with the way the room is advertised.

One of the nicest properties we have stayed in. Yes it is a converted garage, and we loved the simplicity of the facility. 10/10 to Rory for providing breakfast for our stay ... not the usual minimum fare, but an entire loaf of fresh bread, fresh butter, fruit bowl, large bottle of milk, spreads and a fresh box of cereal. Most places we have stayed provide just the bare minimum, and this was a refreshing change ... KUDOS! . The bed and pillows were super comfortable ... probably the best we have had. . Constructive thoughts ... a small folding table and 2 folding chairs would round this self-contained room out to perfection! . Thanks for an awesome New Years stay Rory

Disappointing

The blind on the sliding door was stuck closed. The light in the loft was on over night and we couldn't sleep. No table to eat off. Nothing to sit on other than the bed.

Hi Jan, Thanks for your feedback.. The lights were all off when you entered the property so the loft light must have been switched on by yourself. As I was next door I would have gladly helped if required. The photos online are exactly as per the room set up. As mentioned in my profile there is lots of tables and chairs on the front and rear verandah. I noticed that you had a guest sleep on the floor, and used the clean linen. I assume this means you had an extra guest in the room then what you booked for. I had to throw that linen out after your stay. This is not a 5 star hotel room and is not advertised as such. You will note the positive feedback I have from pretty much every other guest who has stayed with me. It's a shame you were unable to have the same experience. Thank you for your feedback

Certainly wouldn't recommend... Felt very unclean and was just a converted garage that seemed to have all the left over, unwanted furniture just chucked in there. A broken rocking chair. The world's loudest fridge. And just random junk stored up above the fake ceiling. Overall just didn't have a nice feel and we sacrificed a night away to not have to sleep in there twice.
