This place was perfect for our little vacation. The rooms were clean, and spacious. Kitchen was well stocked and had all we needed for making dinners in. Close to Lake Placid and Ausable Chasm (this place is amazing).Would recommend for large group to stay.

Thnak you so much for your beautiful comment David.
Hope to see you soon
“Well used” property, mostly average care given to interior and exterior, kitchen adequate, we slept great in cool and comfortable beds, downstairs is not air conditioned, it is a car/truck ride to the beach, which we really enjoyed
We had an amazing time the house was very clean & spacious. Absolutely loved the screened in porch area. My only recommendation would be to add a sign on the entryway to the porch that there is a step down as many of us had tripped & also in the kitchen. I would highly recommend this place for family events.
My family and i stayed for 2 days, it was a wonderful experience. The house was very clean. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful screened in porch. I highly recommend and woukd stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was cozy and had everything we needed.Just a couple of things to know before booking: There was a rat (we called him ratatouille) that would come out at night and get into food, so make sure to put everything away. Also, the house is right by train tracks, and when the train comes through it shakes the whole place. The title is a little misleading as you cannot see the water from the house. Other than that, it was a great stay and a good spot for a trip!
The property was tastefully decorated and was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of nice games available. And the beds were comfortable. Lighting could have been better.
Property was as described. Very responsive on such short notice. House is very large for a larger group to stay. Very close to Lake Champlain and a great stay for anybody during the summer minths.
A nice quiet neighborhood. Perfect setting and amenities for a family getaway. Everything we needed was available.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us as we celebrated our daughters college graduation.
The home was beautiful and very comfortable. My children didn’t want to leave! The home is situated right by the water. Everything was perfect and worked well. Communication was wonderful and we had no problems at all!
House was clean, comfy and well-stocked with essentials. Loved the proximity to Port Kent Beach and Ausable Chasm. We had an excellent time just relaxing, eating, drinking, swimming and hiking.
Mathilde was excellent and ensured that all our needs were promptly met. Big thanks to her and Jeannie. Would love to return, highly recommend this place.
Every year my family and I visit the Lake Champlain area, and this year we decided to try this home in Port Kent. It was very spacious and clean. The neighborhood is quiet, and it is a pleasant walk to the lake, or to the marsh nature preserve nearby. Port Kent is also close to Ausable Chasm, and to Ausable Brewing Company for that matter.
It was a very enjoyable stay here, and plan to return in the future.
Spacious, tastefully decorated, and comfortable for our extended family. The four bedrooms are arranged two on each side of the house, with each side having its own stairway, offering exceptional privacy. Several large spaces are available for socializing - people can gather in the sunny living room, kitchen/dining area, screened porch, deck, or around the fire pit. Mathilde was very responsive to our questions, and Jennie greeted us on-site when we arrived. This house was a great choice for our family!

"It was an absolute pleasure hosting ellen and her familly at our accommodation. Their stay went seamlessly, and communication was smooth from start to finish. They took great care of the house, leaving it spotless. Respectful and friendly travelers whom I highly recommend to the Vrbo community. We genuinely look forward to hosting them again on their next visit. Thank you for this positive experience!"
House was clean however did have some spiders and webs which is typical but Someone before us must have had a pet as there was an odor in master room if door is shut (believe it is on rug by door). Porch and decking are old and need replacing. However we were not there to spend time in house and it fit our needs
The house was huge with plenty of room for the whole family to visit our youngest. We only had one issue. The listing had a washer and dryer available. I had my freshman bring his laundry for his mom to do for him while spending family time.
There was no dryer. We wouldn’t have had him lug a bag of clothes with him. That was disappointing, ohltherwose, a great stay!

Hello
I’m very happy that you had a pleasant stay at my house. We do, of course, have a dryer, and it is located in the room behind the bathroom. You should have contacted me or Jennie, and we would have informed you about its location.
Our family (4 of us) meet each Christmas in Port Kent as our son has a farm closeby on Mace Chasm road. This is our 2nd year in a row and we want to rent it next Christmas. Only problem is that there was no water-hot or cold in the kitchen. Pipes frozen. Water-hot and cold in rest of the house. Pipes need thermal tape. We were told that this often happens. We really want to come back . Phillip Wilson

Hello Philippe,
Thank you for your positive feedback. We will be delighted to welcome you again next year. I hope you enjoyed your stay despite the issues we encountered with the pipes.
Looking forward to seeing you again,
Mathilde

The house was pretty, and very well appointed. My concern is that there are some issues with the upstairs floor over the TV room is very soft and "gives" a little scarily when you walk on it. The screen porch and the deck are in bad shape. It wasn't a huge deal for us at all, but I worry about the property for the owner long term. BUT we really enjoyed our stay. Jennie was very helpful and Mathilde was very responsive. Please don't be offended by the structure commentts, we own an old house too and have a LOT of experience with "old house" problems. Again, for short term rental guests It's a lovely place to stay!!!
Mouse problem! Packaged food left on counter eaten and mouse droppings on counter top and in bath tub. This house needs to have a rodent cobtrol ser ice come before any other tenant of exposed to this! Two sinks water turned off because of leaky faucets that owner knew and were not fixed for our visit. Misrepresentation of property location - it is one mile from lake not one minute as owner advertised. Towels scarce - had to buy face cloths. Amenities not available- advertise outdoor grill but was not out out . Tv's cable connections are such that both tv's have to watchsame show aboutadmiitrdtoknow abou

Monica was, unfortunately, the most difficult guest I’ve had since I started renting out my home. From the beginning, she was constantly criticizing the house. She initially claimed that there was no hot water because she couldn’t figure out how to use the taps properly, and became upset despite the fact that everything was functioning normally.
She then alleged there was a rodent infestation, painting a completely distorted picture of the house as unlivable — which is entirely untrue. Her messages were rude and accusatory, creating significant stress not only for me but also for my cleaning staff, who went above and beyond to assist her during her stay.
In an effort to make things right, I kindly offered her an extra night free of charge, but she refused and instead demanded a full refund, saying my offer was “unacceptable.”
I have never experienced anything like this before. I do not recommend Monica as a guest — for the sake of your sanity, avoid at all costs.
