Hi Gary, Thank you for your review. Abacourt is in the centre of Keswick making it the ideal base for exploring the town. It benefits from it's own parking place to the rear and is close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. We hope you had a great stay! Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Great value for money

This property is great value for money. Could do with a little bit of deor makeover in living room , a bit dated (sorry).but this may put people off which is otherwise a great rental. Very comfortable beds, bedrooms were lovely and spacious and very clean. One bedroom at the top of the property has a great view of Latrigg and Skiddaw on your own private balcony with chairs and a table. Great for a coffee on a morning . Massive added bonus is your own parking space at the rear of the property. Which, if you're a regular visitor to Keswick you'll knoe can sometimes be a problem. The property is vert central and a everything in Keswick is right on your doorstep, literally. Would highly recommend

A super stay

Our second stay and booked for next year. A shavers point in the bathroom and a mirror above the sink in the top floor toilet would be handy.

Great accommodation and location

We really enjoyed our stay at Abacourt Cottage. The cottage is well equipped and perfect for our group of 4 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and a dog. Location is perfect, only seconds away from the shops, pubs and restaurants, with the park a 2 minute walk away. Keswick is lovely and a great base for exploring the Lake District. Keswick Cottages were great, very friendly and kept us informed at all times. They sent a maintenance guy round the same day when we had an issue. Highly recommended.

A pleasant week

The location was ideal and it was of reasonable value for the 5 of us. I love sitting out on the balcony in an evening. This is the 4th year we have stayed in the cottage because we have always been satisfied up until now. Sadly the house is in need of some TLC. The tiles in the bathroom were held on with duct tape, not ideal, and I would say that it needs a deep clean. Skirting boards were covered in dust, the small chest of drawers in the single room had juice spilled down the front and was sticky and the inside of the front living room window was covered in fingerprints. The drawers’ interiors and inside the wardrobes hadn’t been dusted since I don’t know when, and I don’t think the dirt on the back of the bathroom door had been cleaned since I washed it last year. Although the floors had been washed and were still damp when we arrived, they had been mopped with a sour mop making the rooms smell off. We bought floor wipes to over come this. Also when we arrived a curtain rail was hanging off the wall, however it was promptly fixed on our first evening. This cottage has so much to offer and is in a super location but it needs a good “spruce up” and that includes the weeds at the front door. I have in the past recommended this cottage to quite a few people, however in its current condition I don’t feel I can at the moment.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. I'm so sorry to learn that there were some shortcomings during your stay. I can confirm that the bathroom tiles have now been repaired. Unfortunately it was not a job that could be carried out during changeover hours, so the tiles were secured to avoid any inconvenience to guests and repaired at the first opportunity. It is really disappointing to hear that the cleanliness was not up to our usual high standard during this visit. Please know we are a small local agency just around the corner from the cottage and would have made sure the points were rectified straight away. The housekeeping manager has carried out some additional training with the cleaner who looks after the cottage and organised the deep clean. We of course hope you would not be deterred from returning in the future. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Cottage near town centre so easy access to restaurants, shops and all the facilities. An easy walk to the lake and to parks. Dogs welcome and many gentle walks close by. The property was spotlessly clean, very warm and welcoming.

Lovely house in a good location

We stayed here for two nights to climb Scafell Pike. It’s a 30 minute drive from Seathwaite where we started the hike. The pictures don’t do the house justice, the property is clean and well furnished. The kitchen was a little on the small side but it wasn’t a problem for us. I highly recommend the property and I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent Central Location

The property is situated on a main road so there is some traffic noise but you would expect that from such a central location. Parking facilities are excellent. We easily got a medium car in the space available. We were lucky enough to be able to eat on the terrace balcony three times- amazing views. Overall would highly recommend

Traditional cottage in a great location

Handy to have toilet attached to top room, and bathroom was clean and modern. The boot space near back door was very helpful. We enjoyed being a short walk from everything we needed in Keswick. Car parking space at the back was quite tight and you do have quite a few people walking passed the front window. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and Keswick staff were very responsive, but compared to other cottages we have stayed in, we felt for the high price, there was a lack of a attention to detail, and the cottage apart from bathroom had not been improved for quite a long time, sofa’s could have been more comfortable, and more spare toilet roll left.

A super cottage.

This was a super cottage in an ideal location, we probably paid slightly more because we booked later than normal and for only 5 nights. Having said that, we were very happy with the house and have booked it for 7 nights next year. There was plenty room for the 5 of us (all adults) and we particularly enjoyed the balcony on the top floor and it’s views. It was spotlessly clean and we appreciated the welcome kit. (Improvement)Suggestions: - A mirror in the upstairs toilet, and a socket for an electric razor in the bathroom. - If travelling with 2 cars use the parking space at the back of the house for the smaller car….turning space is tight.

Central Keswick Stay

The cottage is an excellent base being so close to the shops & also in walking distance to some great walks. The cottage was adequately equipped. The highlight being the outside seating area off the master bedroom. It was nice eating outside in privacy whilst enjoying great views of the surrounding mountains. Parking was a bonus for central Keswick, but beware it is really tight & only a small or medium size car will fit. To compensate a parking permit was a good gesture. In summary we would recommend provided it doesn't go up too much in cost

A few days away

Great location close to the high st, great parking facilities we just had the one car which there is parking for and they provide additional parking in a long stay carpark a minutes walk away . Properly meet our needs , only downsides was it was quite dusty felt like no one had stayed in a while, and the sofa wasn’t the comfiest , no cushions on them either . Either than that was a nice place
