About this property
The Orient Express Shepherd's Hut with Hot Tub
Step into a world of peace, comfort, and natural beauty with a stay at The Orient Express, a handcrafted shepherd’s hut in the heart of the breathtaking Crai Valley. Designed for couples, solo travellers, and even your small doggie companion, this riverside hideaway offers a uniquely romantic escape.
Let the soothing sounds of nature flow through the open terrace doors, curl up by the log burner on cooler evenings, or slip into the warm, bubbling hot tub under a canopy of stars, this is your opportunity to reconnect with nature in true comfort and style.
Lovingly built by skilled local craftsmen using premium oak and natural textures, The Orient Express is as much a celebration of traditional Welsh craftsmanship as it is a luxurious retreat.
Inside, you’ll find a clever and cosy layout featuring a handcrafted king-sized bed, an dining table with seating for two, and a fitted farmhouse-style kitchen with a Belfast style sink and charming dresser stocked with crockery and utensils.
Your morning rituals are made extra special thanks to the inclusion of a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, complete with a starter pack of coffee pods, ideal for savouring a quiet start to the day surrounded by stunning countryside views.
The generously sized bathroom defies the usual shepherd’s hut expectations, offering a proper shower cubicle, washbasin, and toilet. We also provide luxurious Black Pepper & Sandalwood toiletries, and warm, fluffy towels thanks to the heated towel rail.
Thoughtful storage solutions, including an external compartment for larger items, ensure you’ll have plenty of room for all your belongings without compromising the hut’s welcoming feel.
Step outside to discover your own private patch of paradise. The Orient Express sits in a river-fronted field with panoramic views across the valley and direct access to a secret island glade, accessible via steppingstones across a gentle stream. It’s an ideal spot to picnic, read, or simply lose yourself in the beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
For al fresco cooking and dining, the front porch features a flameless BBQ, set, perfect for a relaxed meal with a view.
After a day of walking or exploring nearby footpaths, return to your private hot tub for the ultimate relaxation. As with all our properties, the tub is thoroughly emptied, cleaned, and refilled after every stay. Please allow up to 12 hours for it to reach the optimal temperature. Kindly note that the hot tub is not suitable for children under 16 or pregnant women, and all guests are asked to review the provided safety guidelines before use.
Whether you choose to wander the acres of private farmland, enjoy riverside strolls, or simply sip wine from the deck as the sun sets, The Orient Express invites you to embrace nature without sacrificing any creature comforts.
Eco-conscious travellers will also appreciate the availability of on-site EV charging stations, and to help you settle in, we provide a thoughtful starter pack with tea, coffee pods and sugar sachets.
