We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect for us - 3 couples so we each had our own bedroom & bathroom . Very nice accommodations & owners, and adorable pets.
This place was perfect. The grounds were manicured like a golf course and the rental was spotless and beautifully decorated. The outdoor seating was plentiful and each spot gave you a different perspective of the property. Close enough to town for a quick run, but so secluded. Can't wait to stay again.
Quiet, relaxing, beautiful, amenities, welcoming, Hosts are helpful and welcoming and place is well-Maintained. We all were so pleased and expectations were far surpassed. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
Stayed here for three nights and our stay was lovely. We enjoyed being on the large patio. Our daughter loved the owners dogs and cat coming to great her through out our stay. I highly recommend!
Our stay at Serenity Valley was everything we were looking for. Beautiful scenery, landscaping, and accommodations. The living space provides enough room for comfortable conversations. The kitchen allowed for the preparation of simple and also gourmet meals. The 3 separate bedrooms and baths provide the privacy needed. Highly recommend this home for any nature loving group.
Family members (4 adults and 2 children) spent 4 days in a very comfortable cabin away from our homes, no work, no stress. The cabin had a well equipped kitchen and even bunk beds for the kids. A great place to just spend some time.
What a wonderful property. Stayed here with our friends and three small children. Lovely decorations for Christmas. The kids loved petting the cat and dog on the property. The beds were fairly comfortable and the space was nice and roomy. Overall would recommend!
We just finished our annual girls weekend and absolutely loved Serenity Valley. The pictures are great but the place itself is even better. Beautiful outdoor space. Lots to do. Hope to do it again next year.

Thanks so much Mary - glad you enjoyed your stay! Sorry we were not here to visit with you, but I'm sure Lori did a great job of showing you around and getting you checked in. Thanks for leaving the space so neat and tidy! It was much appreciated!

Loved the property and home. Very welcoming and so much to offer. The only downside was the smell of either a hog farm near by or the manure that the farmers spread in the field.

So sorry the country air was not very “fresh”! We always have a couple days in the fall when the neighbors clean out their manure pits and the wind carries it our direction. Unfortunately, your weekend was pretty noxious. That’s the price we pay for country living. Glad you still enjoyed your weekend despite the smell.
Love, Love, Love this house! Needed a place for Luther College graduation and so thankful it was available! We didn't want to leave. The grounds were amazing, everything was clean and their animals made our stay so fun! I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. It was well worth the 20 min drive to Decorah.
Serenity Valley is as advertised. Beautiful and serene. Located in a rural area, but, beautifully landscaped with ponds, fishing piers, and an outdoor fire pit. It offers a very comfortable stay for 6 adults giving each their own bed and bath facilities. The kitchen area is small but, easily accommodated cooking a meal or two during our stay. We highly recommend a stay at Serenity Valley.
The property owners were very friendly. It was perfect for the kids to play and have fun and the parents to relax. I would say it is best to bring all food with you as restaurants are about 20 minutes away. When you get there you won't want to leave anyways.
Excellent stay at a beautiful home and property. Dan and Deb are very friendly (as are their dogs). Very clean and pretty much anything you would need on hand. Pond for fishing and kayaking. Big hit with the kids. Highly recommend.

Thanks so much for staying with us, and for leaving the space so clean and tidy!
The three days spent at Serenity Valley were wonderful. Just what 6 senior college friends needed for relaxing and reminiscing. The beautiful grounds, the fishing ponds and the fire pit area provided excellent gathering spots for stories to be told and laughter following! This home is one of the best the area provides.

About the host
Hosted by Deborah Hageman
Serenity Valley was built in 2014 and opened for business in January of 2015. The land is owned and managed by Dan and Deb Hageman who farmed the land for over 40 years. In 2005 development of the large pond began and thousands of trees were planted. In subsequent years, three more ponds were developed, a shelter, dock, bridge, arbor, and woodworking shop were built , and several more trees and flowerbeds were planted. In October of 2013 construction on the log home began. Golden Eagle log homes provided most of the materials and plans for the home. All three Hageman boys, Matt, Mitch and Adam, contributed to the design and/or development of the home and property. Serenity Valley is the realization of a 30 year dream for the Hageman family.
