We enjoyed our stay over the Christmas holiday. It has everything you would need. With being from the north a hot tub in December was a real treat.

Unpleasant
The property wasn’t fully functioning, the pool solar heat was broken, The AC was old and not functioning properly. There was a gas leak on the bar aqueduct, the lights on the Lani weren’t working, the ice maker in the refrigerator was not working, there was a broken leg on one of the lounges. My wife fell . We were stuck there for 13 days untill we found another place, had to repack, check out at 10:00am. Drove around homeless untill check in. At 3:00 pm in the new place. Paid more money because nothing was available. Ruined a good part of my vacation. Still trying to get a refund and Vrbo is not helping at all????

Falsely advertised
Our stay at this property was from December 22-January 5 with our 2 children (2 and 9). We were so looking forward to a nice warm stay for our holidays. To say our children were excited about swimming in the pool would be an understatement. Upon arrival the pool and hot tub were freezing. I called the property manager to ask how to turn on the heat, he directed me to the “book of instructions” for the hot tub but said the pool “heater” runs off the sun and he suggested waiting a few days for it to warm up. Our children were devastated, we didn’t rent a property with a pool to “wait a few days to get in”. It wasn’t until our 5th day of our visit that our kids lips weren’t blue getting in. In the amenities of this property it says a heated pool and spa...I felt it was falsely advertised. We would have NEVER booked if we knew this pool was solar heated. Another inconvenient issue was you could not turn the air below 75 degrees because the unit might “freeze up” and WE would be charged a fee for someone to come fix their air conditioner. Not my fault their unit is not working properly. Again I would have never booked this house knowing that in advance. We were charged for electricity during our stay, which was a crazy amount, basically our whole deposit. Being that there is no pool heater, the air is controlled I never imagined it could be that high. We we very tentative about turning lights off and turning the hot tub off when not using it. We were also gone several days to the beach, and had 2 boat days. Just seemed crazy. The weather was beautiful, the outside of the home is kept up well but truly that was the only positive of this property. We have stayed in many rental properties and were very surprised at how many “rules” there were and so many things “off limits”. You aren’t allowed to use the garage, there is a bedroom locked and a few closets throughout the house. The beds are EXTREMELY uncomfortable, I really like a firm bed but this was BAD. If you are considering renting this property I would make sure the weather is above 80 degrees if you plan on using the pool.

Megan, we are so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. The advertisment clearly states:
1. The garage is not part of the rental and used by the owners only
2. pool is SOLAR heated, SPA has an electric heater
3. two bedrooms - not 3. The owners have some personal items in the third bedroom and that is why it is advertised as a 2 bedroom house
4. the rental agreement clearly says that electricity is charged at 15 cents per kwH
We are sorry that the weather was cold when you arrived. No pool heater ( not solar, not electric ) will heat up a pool to the 80's when outside temperature is in the lower 50's.
You can adjust the AC to whatever temperature is comfortable for you. We do NOT request to have it set not lower than 75. The AC unit is just working fine as it should.
Again - very sorry that you did not enjoy the weather. As you mentioned, after a few days of cold winter weather in Florida it became warm again and the solar heater heated up the pool to your desired temperature.
You must advise carpet and ac restrictions also hot tub not working. Never saw agent never came when she was supposed to and all lnstructions in german not english

Just ok..
We decided on this property based on the hot tub and pool area as the interior looked dated. The hot tub was not filled or functional and the pool area was pretty ran down. The interior was dated as I knew from the photos but was clean. There are no items for taking to the beach so if you are flying that is an inconvenience. There was a sign asking not to place the a.c. below 75 or the unit would freeze and you would be liable for the repair. If it were repaired properly that wouldn't be an issue and need stated. Many people are not comfortable at 75 and I think that is good to know upfront. It was not an issue for us but I know many who this would be a big deal. There were a few little things like that we came across that were irritating but nothing major. We did feel that other places we have stayed were more accommodating with items of necessity like beach items, coffee filters etc. It would not be a place we would return to but not terrible either.

Review
The hot tub was empty and not working upon arrival. When brought to the agent's attention during check in, the agent became argumentive. We were told the part for the hot tub was not available. The agent also stated that the nonworking hot tub was listed in the German description, and
we should have read the reviews in English on the site. There were ants. We had to store all food in the refrigerator. The area around the pool was dirty and slippery. We cleaned it ourselves.
Wonderful property with plenty of space for my wife myself and two boys. We had a excellent time. The neighbors were very friendly and the neighborhood was peaceful. We enjoyed the pool daily and the canal right in the back yard was great for fishing and sunsets. Lots of things to do locally, and only a short drive to the beach. Sanibel Island is gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again or recommend this property!!
Home was in a great location. Very quiet and nice neighborhood. 7 mins from Fort Myers over bridge. Was disappointed that they waited till we arrived to tell us the hot tub wasn't working. They offered a full refund if we wanted to find another place but we had already went to grocery and unpacked so to find another place would have taken us another wasted day of vacation to do. We stayed and they gave us a discount that we used for a massage :) We didn't get the pool warm enough to use in the evening but did get to use it during the day. Our mistake for not asking if there was a way to warm it up a bit. House was well appointed and mostly clean. Carpets were dirty ;( Beds are very firm which some might like. We would stay again but would enquire about important amenities prior to arrival if they were important. The hot tub/Spa was this trip. Our stay was April 10-17, 2021
We really enjoyed our stay. The home was in a great location. The pool was awesome. Unfortunately the hot tub was broken when we were there. Just our luck. They cranked up the heater on the pool for us and the kids had a blast. Just a warning, the beds are very firm. The host was helpful and even brought us her sand toys to use at the beach.

Hi Jeffrey, nice meeting you and your family. Thanks for the nice review. Hope you had a safe travel back home. Thanks Sandra
The house was everything we thought it might be. The pool and hot tub were spectacular and being right on the canal that has access to the Gulf was a huge plus. We met all the neighbors and Mike across the street was a huge help. Sandra the property manager was excellent. We even rented a boat and it was brought right to our dock. We loved our experience there and we will definitely be back!!

Really nice we enjoyed our stay neighbors were great and helped out. We did have an issue with the ice machine however, the neighbor/maintenance guy brought us a bag of ice immediately and resolved the issue. We were nervous about the property bc it was “out dated”. To our surprise it was just the decor. We were only 30minites to the beach and it felt like home. The Grocery store,Walmart, And liquor store was all 5min away super convenient, not to mention an ice cream shop we went to was only 15minutes away. Great experience don’t let the decor or paying electric scare you. We were there only a week and we used the hot tub every night and the electric was only $80!! We will definitely be staying here again! We went to lobster lady and had the best sea food plus it was only 20min away!!
Not bad for 2 people. Deck around pool needs power washing. Screening in lainai has too much dirt and webs which falls on the deck with rain. I spent approx 1 hour on 3 occasions cleaning off the area otherwise footprints would be everywhere. Owner uses electric in garage to charge his cars. He should pay his portion of electric for doing that. Solar worked great for heating the pool. Hot tub was nice. Beds were also fine. Nice newer frig. Sidewalks also need power washing as they are beginning to grow algae and slippery. Overall thanks, Steve Ps: I refilled the propane tank.
We really enjoyed ourselves in this area and in your home. Loved the outside area. Only regret is we never really got to use hot tub. I realize things like this happen, just wish it wouldn’t have been while we were there and Volker did send pool dr. as soon as I reported the problem, but the last week, we really couldn’t use pool either because it was so cold even though it was 80s. The neighbor guy even tried to help as much as he could. Our pillows were exchanged quickly when we told Barb how uncomfortable they were. Adding a pillow top on the mattress would also make a much more comfortable night sleep. Because of my shoulder which was broke 5 months ago, I couldn’t lay in the bed more than 2-3 hours, so spent most of my nights in the recliner. Still, we loved layout of home & the well equipped kitchen. We’ll look forward to renting from you again. Thanks, Judy

Great location and neighborhood ! Noisy location with little privacy and you PAY for ELECTRIC!
My parents and I stayed here for 6 weeks. I worked and the Internet was great. The tv and living room was a great set up for them. Nice pool and hot tub that we took advantage of almost daily. The beds were hard, the sectional needs to be replaced, others have noted the 90’s decor in their reviews. The house is right next to the highway so it is noisy, but you can get places quickly. We walked to grocery store, movies, hair places. Beautiful sanctuary park close that we walked too also. $2 to come back on the bridge to Cape Coral. Each room had a ceiling fan and the kitchen was well equipped.
