Good dogs are welcome smoking is not. Its minutes away from the National Lake Shore Park- Sleeping Bear Dunes. Traverse City is minutes to its popular West side activities. It is a unique two bedroom cottage filled with natural light and wonderful panoramic views of Power Island, Old Mission Peninsula, white caped waves, fishing and vintage sailing schooners sailing by and fantastic unforgettable moon lit waters. There are two bedrooms with one full bath on the second floor and a half bath and bedroom on the main level. The stairway leads to a bridge on the second floor that connects the master bedroom to the sky lit bathroom and walk in closet. The laundry is located in the basement. Although a mere five minutes from downtown, the large shaded yard facing the water, offers privacy that seems farther away. The location is literally surrounded by northern attractions; wine tasting is within walking distance as is the bike path that connects Traverse City to Sutton's Bay. There are a number of light houses to visit. Northport lighthouse is 25 miles north on M-22, and Old Mission is located on the end of the same peninsula, visible from the cottage. The cottage has West Bay shared access suitable for swimming and launch site for small boats. The use of a mooring ball is available. Power Island is a favorite distant boating destination. There are many nearby parks and beaches as well. You can cook meals in the fully equipped kitchen or grill out on a large deck overlooking flower beds, a landscaped yard and Traverse City's West Bay. After dinner, relax, sip wine and watch the moon rise over the beautiful ever changing water. This cottage has been featured in Traverse The Magazine and Northern Express paper as well as other publications. It is close to all that the Grand Traverse area and Leelanau County have to offer. The cottage has central air conditioning. Wireless internet is provided as well as basic television and roku.

We had a wonderful stay, the house is central to so many things and the view is breathtaking. Jim the host was very helpful, we will definitely be back!
We enjoyed the cottage and the view of the water out the front window! Jim was friendly and helpful with ideas and directions for our visit, and everything was clean and comfortable.
This house is super cute and well appointed. The location is great for a variety of day trips. The quiet little beach is an extra bonus. You’ll see some of the most amazing sunrises and moonrises from the sofa!
We totally enjoyed our stay. Location was convenient to visiting many places. It was a busy road between us and lake with traffic noise, but we had no small children to worry about. The view was wonderful. The host was excellent and very accomodating.
It was a delight staying at this little family-owned eclectic vacation home. It is perfect for four adults (two couples). Interior lighting layout and schematics was adventurous. Do the time of year for our visit could not enjoy the exterior of the properly to its fullest but it looks like it would be wonderful in warm weather. We would revisit this little cabin in the future if available thank you.
The house is in a very good location for my wife and myself. We wanted to be close to everything but not in the middle of the craziness that Traverse City can be. Was hoping for a little beach but with the water levels as high as they were unfortunately that wasn’t the case. There was a little waterfront across the street but it had a lot of junk(mostly wood) Water shoes are a must if you’re planning on going in the water because of all the rocks(my wife discovered she loved searching for neat rocks) Jim seemed like a really nice guy and was very informative. All in all it was pretty much what we expected and we would rent it again.
Had some apprehensions about the property due to the good, bad and ugly reviews. Some reviews were frivolous, others were not experienced by us and some were valid. It's not a Pottery Barn property, it's like visiting your uncle's house on the lake. We enjoyed our stay, we were comfortable and no review can argue with the view. Good value and we hope to come back.

Dust and Noise
The stay at this property was unpleasant to say the least. In need of a major cleaning!!! Dust and cobwebs everywhere. The basement where washer and dryer are located reeked of mold and mildew, very disgusting. Kitchen trash can was filthy and disgusting as well. Sky-lights were full of crud and debris. Will not be coming back to this place!!!!
The Cabin was a GREAT location and was very comfortable. Some of the reviews stated mustiness or water when raining. I will say it rained almost every day of our 7 day stay and there were zero leaks. The front picture window is an amazing view of the bay and the grill and porch served us well to hang out and relax.
It is a very affordable option when compared to others and it is slightly dusty but not bad at all. Would absolutely stay again. Thanks Jim!
The location is fantastic. It takes only 30-45 minutes to any of the amazing hiking trails in the area. The house was clean, and had everything to make our stay comfortable. Just had to be reminded to bring my own towels. Overall, a very good experience. House is located on a busy street so some street noise was heard until about 10:00pm and started about 6:30am. Would recommend without hesitation.
Easy would be the best way to describe the experience. The house was exactly as described. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation, visiting the beach and enjoying the relaxation of being at the lake. House was perfect for us and the dogs ,would be a tight squeeze with more.
The place was large and very comfortable.
We were mostly out all day hiking and seeing the area.
The location was great and we had an awesome week with our dogs.
Comfortable for 4 people. Good location for trips to Traverse City or north on the Leelanau Peninsula. Driveway would not be easy to back in a boat trailer. Had serious water leak in entry way and a musty smell. Across M 22 from bay so great view. Priced right and appreciated a dog friendly property.

Fair & Honest Review
My husband and I spent a week at Jim’s place with our doggo. The fact that this property is pet friendly is a huge plus. The art and nostalgia are cool and definitely add to the warmth of the cabin. We taught our pup to swim down by the beach (it’s small and rocky so water shoes are a must). The views of the bay are lovely- we were even able to watch a summer storm on the bay which was very cool. However, with the storms came some other realities of the home. All three skylights are leaking significantly and the ones in the front entrance have developed (wince) mold. There was also a pretty nasty leak under the kitchen sink during our stay. Hopefully that’s fixed for the next guest. The water issues definitely attribute to another downfall other reviewers mentioned- the musty odor. Since we were staying for a week we picked up some air fresheners, but airing the place out was tricky given that no windows or doors have screens and it’s far too buggy this time of year to leave everything open. Finally, while the place was “tidy” upon check-in, it’s due for a thorough cleaning. Anyone with a lake house and/or collectibles knows that cobwebs and dust can quickly get out of hand. Overall, the house has a lot of potential but it’s tired and due for some serious TLC. My husband and I are pretty resilient so we just dealt with the setbacks, but I don’t think the property should be rented until the overarching water issues are addressed. *Note: all concerns were communicated to Jim directly. He said, “okay.”
Jim’s house was fantastic and we had a great time. Great location and clean, comfortable home with a beautiful view. Communication for check-in was inconsistent and a bit unclear but Jim was there to meet us at the time specified.

Great location but…
We spent a couple of nights here. Jim is very nice however the communications and quality of the place was lacking. It had a definite smell of must in the place. The furnishings are dated which we knew and the decorating is eclectic which we also knew. Appreciated the collections and love the family must have for this place. We left a day early as it was not a comfortable stay.
This was a great place for us with beautiful views of the bay. We went down to the waterfront across the street several times a day to go rock hunting. The traffic is a heavy but not unmanageable. The host was welcoming and helped situate me to the house and to the area. I loved the decor. It was eclectic and the house was very comfortable. Perfect for me my three kids and two dogs. Great spot to do day trips and close to town for amenities. I would
definitely stay here again.
