About this property
Cozy creekside cabin w barrel sauna, covered wraparound deck - pet friendly!
Escape for a spring getaway in this cozy creek side cabin. Warm up in the recently added barrel sauna! A comfy new king bed, full bathroom, kitchen and living space are stocked with the essentials. Relax around the outdoor fire pit with the babbling creek as your back drop. Stay in and catch up on your favorite shows with the 65" Roku TV.
Located approximately 15 minutes from I-77, this is an ideal spot for a quick stopover or a wonderful place to stay for a while. The farmhouse vibes of the cabin + the charm of the nearby local small towns make this a wonderful spot to get away. Life can be hectic so take a moment to slow down.
Bring along your furry family - we're dog friendly!
The cabin has one bedroom w/ king bed, a full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, cozy living area and a wrap around deck overlooking the creek below. Outside there is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs as well as a charcoal grill. A barrel sauna was just added to the backyard. Read on for more details about the space.
SLEEPING:
The cabin features one bedroom with a new comfy king sized bed, made with hotel quality linens. The cabin is best suited for up to 2 guests but there is a small chaise lounge in the bedroom should you wish to bring an additional guest (note - it is best suited for small children) or you're welcome to bring along some linens to place an additional guest on the couch. The full bathroom is located ensuite to the bedroom.
**Note - the king size bed is made up with linens but bring your own should you wish to utilize the alternative sleeping spaces.
FULL KITCHEN:
The cabin offers a full kitchen with all the essentials, including an electric oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, Keurig K-cup coffee maker, drip coffee maker, hot water kettle, hand mixer and crock pot. There are dishes, glassware, pots and pans, cookie sheets, and utensils. We provide a starter kit of K-cups of coffee, coffee creamer, sugar, and sweetener as well as basic seasonings and cooking oil. There is a drip coffee maker in the cabinet should you wish to bring more coffee along. There are 4 chairs at the kitchen counter for dining (along with the outdoor dining table).
BATHROOM:
There is a full bath off the bedroom with a shower stall and a large soaking tub (note - there are jets in the tub which are currently not functioning). We provide towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. There is a hair dryer in the vanity as well as a clothes steamer which doubles as a dry iron.
PET FRIENDLY:
Furry friend? No problem! Our cabin is dog-friendly for up to 2 dogs, and your furry companion will love roaming around the property (not fenced in). Please note that there is a pet fee to cover additional cleaning and wear and tear. The deck has gates at both entrances to keep your furry friends contained.
FAST WIFI:
The cabin has Starlink internet which can stream multiple devices. There is a 65" Roku TV in the living room as well as a 43" Roku TV in the bedroom (bring your own log ins). Cell service is spotty in the area and many carriers lose service at the cabin. I suggest ensuring you have the ability to do WIFI calls on your device should you wish to stay connected.
GRILL:
There is a charcoal grill outside to grill up your favorite meals. Please bring your own charcoal. There are grilling tools and utensils.
HEATING/ COOLING:
The cabin is heated with a kerosene heater in the main living area which keeps the living space cozy. Electric fireplaces supplement the heat and provide some ambiance in the living room as well as provide heat to the bedroom. The full bath has a wall heater. One item to note - if the heat is on and you're not familiar with kerosene heat, you will notice a faint kerosene smell. For warmer months, there is an AC unit in the bedroom window to keep the space cool (typically from May - Sept).
OUTSIDE:
The deck wraps around the cabin on three sides of covered space to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. There are rocking chairs which welcome you to relax and unwind, a dining table to enjoy outdoor meals and a glider to take in views of the creek. The deck is fully covered and has gates at both entrances so is a great spot for your furry friend to take in the surroundings as well. Don't worry about a rainy day ruining your visit - rain hitting the metal roof is equally relaxing as a sunny sky! Be one of the first to experience the relaxing barrel sauna out back.
NOTE: There is a burn ban in effect for the county from 2/15 - 4/30 in which there is no burning allowed (campfires included) until AFTER 4pm (no rekindling allowed after midnight). All fires must be attended at all times.
SUPPLIES:
We provide basic cleaning supplies and dish soap, as well as a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. Bed linens and towels are also provided, along with basic amenities such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For longer stays, you may want to bring a few extra towels and toiletries. There is a washer/dryer in the cabin you're welcome to use if you'd like. It is quite old (and loud) but still works if you wish to use it - bring along some laundry soap.
OTHER DETAILS:
- The driveway is gravel and runs along the hillside to get to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get down to the cabin from the main road.
- There is a second cabin on the property that shares the driveway which you'll see first when you're arriving. It is a separate space and is currently winterized for the season so you’ll have the property to yourself. It will be back up and running and potentially have guests if your stay is from March through November. It’s located at the bottom of the driveway when you pull in but should not disturb your stay as it’s located further away the many residential neighborhood set ups are. There is a carport you're welcome to park in that separates the spaces along with additional level parking for up to 2 or 3 cars.
GUEST ACCESS:
The entire home is available for your use other than a locked owners closet located in the bathroom as well as a storage shed and closet outside. They will not be accessed during your stay and will remain locked.
