Bonjour Mari-pili. Merci pour vos commentaires et je suis tellement désolé que la maison n’a pas été à la hauteur de vos attentes. Nous sommes habitués à recevoir de très bonnes critiques et c’est donc un choc de recevoir la vôtre. Dans la semaine précédant votre séjour, nous avons reçu un excellent avis 5 étoiles via la plate-forme AirBnB. Bien entendu, cela n’enlève rien à ce que vous avez pensé de votre séjour. Je ferai de mon mieux pour répondre à vos remarques. Nous disons sur le site que le centre-ville de Ceret est à 25 minutes à pied de la maison, ce qui est le cas, la maison étant juste à la frontière Ceret / Reynes. Les chambres du niveau inférieur disposent toutes de la climatisation avec déshumidificateurs intégrés. La semaine de votre séjour a été exceptionnellement chaude et humide et les chambres peuvent avoir eu besoin de déshumidification pendant la journée. Toutes les chambres ont des rideaux et des volets pour garder la lumière du jour. Alors que les salles de bains du niveau inférieur n’ont pas été fraîchement redécorées cette année, je les considérerais comme étant en bon état avec, comme ils le font, des sanitaires Villeroy et Boch. Je suis très surpris que vous avez trouvé la maison sale que nous avons trois nettoyeurs qui s’occupent de la maison et nous n’avons pas encore eu cette rétroaction. Je vais bien sûr en discuter avec notre gouvernante. Nous prenons beaucoup de soin de la maison pour s’assurer qu’il est confortable et bien entretenu. Ce n’est pas une maison moderne et, bien que de caractère, je ne suis pas d’accord qu’elle est impure. Nos chaises extérieures sont juste cela, des chaises extérieures, avec des coussins qui sont remplacés chaque année. J’ai déjà parlé avec notre femme de ménage concernant votre commentaire sur la machine à laver et la plaque chauffante et elle prendra soin supplémentaire de s’assurer que ceux-ci sont soigneusement nettoyés avant l’arrivée de nouveaux clients. Nous avons régulièrement des parties de 10 personnes séjournant à la maison et personne n’a jamais commenté sur un manque de chaises et d’endroits pour manger. J’espère que, malgré ces préoccupations, vous avez pu profiter de vos vacances. Lorsque nous irons à la maison plus tard ce mois-ci à la fin de notre saison de location, vos commentaires ainsi que ceux de nos autres invités seront dans notre esprit alors que nous réfléchissons à la meilleure façon de préparer la maison pour 2024. Stephen Hello Mari-pili. Thank you for your comments and I am so sorry that the house did not live up to your expectations. We are used to receiving very good reviews and so it is a shock to receive yours. In the week before your stay we received an outstanding 5-star review via the AirBnB platform. This doesn't, of course, take away from how you felt about your stay.I will do my best to address your remarks. We do say on the website that Ceret town centre is 25 minutes' walk from the house which is the case, the house being just on the Ceret/Reynes border. The bedrooms on the lower level all have air-conditioning units with built-in dehumidifiers. The week of your stay was exceptionally hot and humid and the rooms may have needed de-humidifying during the day. All the bedrooms have curtains and shutters to keep the daylight out. While the bathrooms on the lower level were not freshly redecorated this year, I would consider them to be in good condition featuring, as they do, Villeroy and Boch sanitaryware. I am very surprised that you found the house dirty as we have three cleaners looking after the house and we have not previously had this feedback. I will, of course, discuss this with our housekeeper. We take a lot of care of the house to ensure that it is comfortable and well looked after. It is not a modern house and, while it is characterful, I do not agree that it is unclean. Our outside chairs are just that, outside chairs, with cushions that are replaced each year. I have already spoken with our housekeeper regarding your comment about the washing machine and the hot plate and she will take extra care to ensure that these are thoroughly cleaned before new guests arrive. We regularly have parties of 10 people staying at the house and no one have ever commented about a lack of chairs and places to eat. I do hope that, despite these concerns, you were able to enjoy your holiday. When we go to the house later this month at the end of our letting season, your comments as well as those of our other guests will be in our minds as we think about how best to prepare the house for 2024. It is clear that we need to take action to keep the house cool and the mosquitoes away when the temperatures soar. We will do that this winter. We will also take a look at the mattresses you noted. These are relatively new and we were not aware that they have become uncomfortable. Finally, that shower controller in the master bedroom may well need attention. For an expensive fitting, it can be surprisingly difficult to use, I agree. Thanks again, Stephen

It is clear that, after this year's heatwave and one very hot week last year, we cannot consider high temperatures exceptional.
