Wonderful, central location, comfortable apartment
We spent a fantastic four days in Antibes and were very comfortable in Marice's apartment. It was impeccably clean and thoughtfully laid-out. Parking can be a bit of challenge, but that's true anywhere in central Antibes. The best thing to do is to park your car long-term and just walk everywhere! The daily open-air market is just a few streets away, and strolling to the waterfront is a cinch. There are plenty of bakeries, cafés, and restaurants within range, and grocery stores are close and well-stocked with what you need for cooking in Marice's well-apportioned kitchen. Probably the best part is the balcony, which overlooks a small square and receives the warm afternoon sun. Marice was easy to reach and very responsive. There was a small problem with the lower door's latch and she followed up right away. Next time we're in Antibes, we plan to see if Marice's apartment is available.
You and your family were having a great trip through Europe just before Christmas and very happy to hear our apartment was a good base to enjoy Antibes. The Christmas Market and lights really do make it a lovely festive destination for all the family.
Brilliant apartment on the edge of the old town in Antibes
Fron beginning to end, this was a really enjoyable stay.
The property was easy to find and our host, Campbell, met us outside the building and we were able to unload our luggage, before taking our car back to the main car pack at the port - this one has wider spaces than the Post one and is about the same price - 70 Euros for the week.
The apartment is really spacious, light and airy, with a very well equipped kitchen and some arrival provisions, including a bottle of wine. There is aircon in the bedroom and the lounge, which is powerful and effective. The WiFi works well too and although we did not use them, there is a TV and sound system available.
We sat on the main balcony at breakfast and for pre dinner G and Ts. Perfect for people watching and not too hot, as the direct sun only hits in the afternoon. The shuttered windows mean that you can keep the apartment cool and have fresh air when needed too.
Old Antibes is a fabulous place to stay - this was our 5th trip - and you will find high end restaurants and fantastic bars too - to suit just about any budget and taste. The beach club at Royal Beach is expensive, but worth it for some tranquility on at leat one day of your stay. The public beach is OK too. We travelled to Eze and Grasse this time and recommend both, especially Eze. We have previously done Monaco, Nice and Cannes - all excellent too.
The bedroom is spacious with loads of storage space and a comfortable, large bed. The adjoining bathroom has a bath and shower, which is a rarity in Antibes and everything was spotlessly clean. There is even a washing machine and a separate balcony to hang out clothes to dry.
Overall, we really loved this place and the touches such as beach towels, beach bag, trolley and umbrellas show the level of thought which has been put into this. There is no sense of just throwing any old furniture into a rental property and we will definitely return at some point.
Great to hear you really enjoyed your holiday in Antibes and our apartment was just what you wanted for exploring the surrounding areas too, there's so much to see and do in this lovely region year round.
The parking is convenient and well priced by the week for those who do arrive by car but for others without the trains run East to West and buses inland if you prefer.
The sunny balcony is South facing so if you want to visit during other seasons you'll still get to relax out there and enjoy your "Aperos"
We hope to see you again in Antibes.
A wonderful apartment in a beautiful location
With the old town right on the doorstep, and the beach just a couple of minutes away, this was the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. The apartment is a cool, calm oasis away from the busy town, and in mid-August, having a place to close the shutters and turn on the AC was great. A really well-equipped kitchen, so lots of opportunities to savour amazing produce from the market, as well as lots of great restaurants nearby. Comfortable, practical and very well equipped, Marice and Campbell have thought of everything.
We're really happy that you had a great holiday in our Antibes holiday apartment and the Old Town was a perfect base for you, yes it has everything from beaches, cafes, markets, restaurants, museums along with beautiful old streets to wander through and discover something new.
Our apartment is also set up for all year living with air con as you mentioned and heating for cooler months, Spring and Autumn warm and quieter with less tourists so we hope you come back again whatever the season. Thank you for taking the time to write a review also as it really does help other holiday makers make the best choice for their future holidays.
A lovely property and a perfect base to explore
Our first visit to Antibes will certainly not be our last and Campbell and Marice’s lovely apartment played a significant part in our enjoyment. The well appointed and spacious apartment really did have everything we needed and felt like a home rather than a holiday let. Whilst conveniently located a few minutes from the centre of the old town and a short walk from the beach, the apartment itself was really peaceful providing a place to relax and escape from the August heat when we needed to ( the efficient air- conditioning was much appreciated!) Old Antibes itself had everything we required – the choice of restaurants and bars seemed endless with something to suit all budgets. Both the famous market and local shops allowed us to eat in some evenings – the balcony in the apartment was ideal for this purpose.
Our holiday to Antibes was our first holiday in many years where we had not hired a car – our concerns were soon dispelled as we really didn’t miss it. Everything we needed was on our doorstep and the public transport was both easy to use and efficient. We used the local bus service to visit the Cap d’Antibes and the super efficient train service along the coast to visit Monaco and Cannes. Our two weeks at Marice and Campbell’s apartment in Antibes were so relaxing – we certainly aim to return.
You've described the Old Town of Antibes perfectly for any new holiday makers looking to enjoy this special part of the World.
Thank you for your review, it really does help others searching for their perfect holiday rental, our place is it for you and others. We look forward to seeing you back in Antibes soon.
Our favorite apartment!
We have rented this apartment several summers now and it is absolutely amazing. The location is top, it's clean and fresh and we will definitely come back. We can really recommend this apartment.
Great to have you and your family choosing to return each year. Thank you for the kind review. See you soon next summer hopefully.
What a great apartment all equipment was of a very high standard. The bed was so comfortable.
We are two adults in our 60s the apartment was so central. We have stayed in Antibes twice before but this apartment was the best. We will be recommending it to family and friends. We will be back the owners were very helpful in every way and lovelly people.
WE loved the shopping trolley to take to the beach it made things so easy.
The parosel, the beach mats and beach towels were of a very high standard. We will be travelling lighter the next time as apartment has everything and more.
WE would give it overall 5*. Antibes still a great place to holiday and beach so safe.
Thank you for the kind review. It says a lot when you mentioned you've stayed in other apartments in Antibes but ours offered you all the best comforts and to the highest standard you look for when booking a holiday rental property. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
Antibes is a bustling old Market Town with narrow, cobbled streets with a large choice of cafes and restaurants from simple local dishes to gourmet fare, artisan shops, Marche Provencal with fresh and seasonal produce all year round, boutiques, patisseries and boulangeries, fish mongers and local fishermen selling their catch on the docks most mornings and of course fine charcuteries and butchers. Antique market twice a week plus two well stocked supermarkets.
Take a stroll to the famous Picasso Museum that follows a walk around the ancient ramparts towards a sandy, sheltered beach, other beaches are close by.
Port Vauban is the largest marina in Europe with some of the most spectacular mega yachts in the world.
Cap d'Antibes is only a 15 minute walk, housing beautiful villas and small public rocky beaches that tumble into the sea for picnics and views over the Old Town to watch the sun go down.
Trains to Cannes, Nice, Monaco so a car is not required.
Golf: There are over 8 different golf courses of different standards within 30 minutes drive of Antibes.
Ski: The closest ski station is Greoliers sur neige. This is a small resort with 6 lifts good for beginner and intermediate skiers about 1 hour 20 minutes away. Further on you have Valberg, Auron and Isola 2000. These 3 resorts are within a 2 hour drive from Antibes, many locals take this route every weekend. The weekdays can be amazingly quiet outside of school holidays. The resorts are of a good size, offering a great variety of pistes and mountain cuisine!
