Very pleased with our choice of accommodation as the mixture of the front of the property and grounds and the original lounge decoration mixed with the modern kitchen and bathroom was fantastic.. easy directions and proximity to motorway an Lake District added to the charm of our stay
The photos of this Suite looked impressive and did not disappoint.Booking communication with host and provision of the Royalist Suite were excellent throughout.A 5 star experience in a wonderful period property.I would highly recommend this accommodation and would not hesitate to return.
**Review for Orton Hall — Peaceful & Full of Charm**Our weeks stay at Orton Hall was beautiful — quiet, peaceful, and full of historic charm. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and exactly as described, with lovely grounds and friendly people who made the visit feel easy and welcoming. The **hidden bookcase door**, was still a delightful touch that added a bit of magic to the experience. The area is lovely, and having a great pub within walking distance - The George Hotel' - with good food and takeaway - was perfect after exploring.Communication with the owner was excellent throughout, clear and helpful from start to finish.A serene, characterful place. Highly recommended.
Host was excellent with communication. We had an issue with one of the pull out single beds which was resolved quickly by the host. Would definitely recommend and the access to the North Lakes Spa was a highlight for our trip!
What a magical place for us all to stay. It had a mysterious Hogwarts air about it. My 12 and 9 year absolutely loved the secret bookcase in the Royalist Apartment, the opportunity to sleep on the comfy pull out beds in the lounge area where they had access to the TV and DVDs, the grand communal room where they could play pool and chess and the little woodland path at the back where they could sit and watch the wild rabbits. Stephanie, our host. had considered everything. The accommodation was spotless and combined the old and the new beautifully. On arrival there was milk, biscuits, tea and coffee. All bedding, and towels were beautifully laundered. There was a folder full of useful information including places to walk, visit and eat. Truly wonderful and we would recommend it to anyone. Thank you very much Stephanie.

So glad you and your family had a great stay Emma. Please come again!
Beautiful property, very well equipped. Very helpful and friendly host. Added bonus to be able to use the spa at hotel in Penrith. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful get away.
Loved this atmospheric old house. Everything was spotless with comfy beds and plenty of books and DVDs. Great to be able to walk to the village for food and exploration.
Hotel pool (20 mins away) was okay. Note that it's mostly very deep (apart from a paddling pool) so not so suitable if you have under 8s that aren't confident swimmers.
Lovely apartment …a bit quirky with the secret doorway to the rest of the apartment. Sympathetically done up in keeping with the rest of the building but nice modern bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen had everything you would need and more. Electric shower was helpful and plenty hot water rest of the time. We enjoyed looking out the big bay window while we ate and watching the bunnies playing and the odd red squirrel. Also nice grounds to sit in when weather good. Conveniently located just off the M6 but easy to get to the Yorkshire dales or the Lake District. Would thoroughly recommend this place.
Beautiful place and location, very cosy and peaceful. Loved watching the rabbits frolicking, playing pool and chess in the communal area. A very special place indeed.

This is a beautiful property and in a great location for country walks right on the doorstep. We have everything we needed, kitchen well equipped, comfortable furniture and quirky features. We have stayed here a few times before and would love to go back again. A real gem.
Absolutely stunning building with everything we needed! Kitchen was very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The fact that most of the apartment was hidden behind a bookcase was the icing on the cake. An absolutely magical place!

Lovely property, nice to see the Red Squirrels. Very scenic, nice and quiet with a lovely local pub and shop. Enjoyed our stay.
Stunning accommodation in a beautiful setting. We had an amazing, relaxing time at the Royalist suite. Great location to explore nearby towns. Access to the spa is a great bonus, though very busy in the afternoon. Wish we could have stayed longer, will be back for sure! Stephanie was a great host.
Lovely, unique accommodation in a pleasant village. Easy access to M6 and routes to Kendal and other Lake District areas. Communal zone inside Orton Hall is stunning, as are its gardens.
We stayed as a family and my daughter loved the bookcase door. The property has all the comforts and amenities that you need and really enjoyed the history of the place. we wish we were there longer as it's lovely base in Lake District.
We spent two nights here while we explored the Lake District. It was lovely and cozy - a well appointed place for us to return to every evening. The bed is divine!!
Our second time here, and even more lovely to be back after a few years of not being able to make it. Orton is a lovely little village, with a great pub (The George), and other amenities. We had a great time.
