Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are steps to the terrace.. This charming semi-detached 17th century cottage has lovely views of Lake Windermere from its top floor and makes for a cosy retreat all year round, ideally located 400 yards from the lake and town centre. Surrounded by dramatic mountainous scenery, numerous walking and cycling paths are on offer. For fell-walking enthusiasts, the Langdales, Scafell, Great Gable and the Old Man of Coniston are easily reached. Take a boat cruise or visit the Beatrix Potter Exhibition. Shops, pubs and restaurants 100 yards.

Great location, easy walk to food and shopping

Perfect location to explore Bowness-on-Windermere. Simple walk to either end of the shopping and restaurant street, short drive to many easy walks, and central location within the region (with parking that could be a little tight depending on your vehicle and how many of them you have)

Stunning views from a quiet elevated location with a quick walk into Bowness centre. Really comfortable cottage with multi burning stove , although the cottage was warm without it. Nice fluffy towels and good quality beds and bedding. Kitchen well equipped with pots, pans, scales and even a slow cooker which was beneficial to use after a long walk. Lovely walks from the cottage and a good base. Really good to have parking too in the middle of Bowness. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A very comfortable cottage close to the town centre but away from bustling hub. Well equipped kitchen and multiple televisions, a pleasant surprise to find a bottle of prosecco on arrival. Excellent addition was the use of the neighbouring hotels leisure facilities.

Had a lovely week at Howe cottage , everything we needed was in there and it was cosy and comfortable and a bottle of Prosecco was waiting for us on arrival . Easy access to all amenities and the option of swimming at the nearby hotel was an added extra. One small problem with hot water was dealt with very quickly by the owner and didn’t cause any inconvenience but we received a second bottle of Prosecco and follow up phone call to ensure all was well. Will definitely return.

Lovely Cottage, Remarkable Village

Our stay at Howe Cottage was wonderful. It is located walking distance from Lake Windermere and quaint downtown Bowness. The cottage was clean, cozy and comfortable. It was much larger than we expected. We were so thrilled with this place. The only problem was that VRBO and a different booking agency double booked the cottage. At 10:00pm a sweet couple knocked on the door wondering if we could help them find the key. Thankfully they found a second option after looking for an hour wirh us, but had change all of their plans. This was very strange and has never happened to us wirh VRBO. We felt terrible about this situation.

The property is in a great location, in the heart of Bowness, a few minutes walk away from the lake. Walks and hikes on the doorstep, good restaurants nearby. And not far from waterfalls, trrektop trek and water sports - perfect for a family break away. Property is also in a good condition, clean, warm and looked after, it had everything we needed, even the weather was great! Highly recommend
